...who do you think should comprise the Sinister Six in Spider-Man 4/5/6? I have a hunch that since they were able to fit three major villains into Spider-Man 3 (hopefully) successfully, there would be no issue with having six "lesser" villains in one of the future sequels.

My picks:

1. Scorpion - He's a knucklehead, plain and simple. No depth, just a guy who's pretty much 1/4 Doc Ock. Just use the Scorpion design for the new SM3 game, plain and simple.

2. Vulture - Just an old guy in an armored green flight suit. ToyFare did an article a few years ago on what certain Spidey villains should look like were they to be adapted into the film universe. If anyone has this issue, the depiction of Vulture in that issue is how I'd like to see him portrayed on-screen.

3. Electro - Another guy with little to no depth. Again, use the design from the above ToyFare issue; skinhead type guy with tattoos and a biker outfit with yellow lightning bolts sewn into leather. I picked him over Shocker because the latter might be a bit too similar in terms of abilities powers (electric/energy bolts).

4. Kraven the Hunter - Maybe just call him the Hunter. He'd probably be the "deepest" of the six villains. He looks pretty cool in the new SM3 game (sort of like an evil Crocodile Dundee). Still, not entirely sure if he should be in the Sinister Six or saved for a Lizard featured film.

5. Mysterio - Don't know how to make him look realistic. But get Bruce Campbell to play him and you have a classic villain.

6. ?????? - The problem with having Green Goblin and Doc Ock out of the picture is that there are new feasible characters left to "lead" the Six.

Your thoughts?

A Sinister Six without Doc Ock as the leader is not a Sinister Six worth knowing.

Ha-ha, touche. I would love to see Doc Ock back as the leader of Six, but I just don't see Raimi or whoever directs the next film(s) bringing an old villain back, especially one who "repented" in the end.

I don't want to see the Sinister Six because I don't want to see a bunch of bad guys without any depth. I finished the Spider-Man 3 novel and each of the bad guys are fully developed, three-dimensional characters. If you take that away depth away, you have a bunch of thugs you don't care about. I don't care how cool the action is - if there isn't a good story with good characters behind it - it's worthless.

Bringing back Ock is easy... Sandman may not die in SM3... I didn't read all the spoilers so dont tell me if you know... Kraven if he surives (and is in) SM4 Mysterio and Vulture and ELectro just like the original lineup... people are worried about character development but they forget thatthese villains already would have had significant ST... Sandman will definitely be developed by the end of the film as was Ock. SM4/5 can develop Mysterio and Electro and Vulture doesn't really need all that much a story... I really don't see the problem. Everyone seems to want Carnage/Venom or another B-list villain team up... might as well do Sinister 6

Ock is still there. If Sandman makes it out alive, he could be in it. Raimi wanted Vulture in 3 originally, so hopefully we see him in 4 along with Electro. Spidey 5 could see Scorpion. Then in 6, Ock returns. Shocker could be mentioned in passing, like a paper in the Bugle with a handcuffed Shocker that was caught by Spidey.

So the lineup could be:

Doc Ock
Sandman
Vulture
Electro
Scorpion
Shocker

-Nice, clean lineup without an overly campy, barechested big game hunter.

Where did you hear that Raimi wanted Vulture in SM3?

No Sinister Six in the Spider-Man movies. It's that simple.

In The Spider-Man Chronicles, author and Spider-Man 3 producer Grant Curtis provides unmatched insider access to the devoted Spider-Man fan. Curtis has hand selected a phenomenal collection of unpublished concept art, sketches, models, and his own behind-the-scenes photography, and pairs these brilliant visuals with his detailed account of how the film was made-from the story and casting to the costumes, production, and special effects. Everything that the serious fan wants is here: early story notes on Vulture, who was later replaced by Venom; shooting locations in Los Angeles, New York, Cleveland, and elsewhere; the real world materials and computer wizardry that brought Sandman to life; transforming Spider-Man's suit into something darker, more sinister, and otherworldly; and much more. Contributions from the key players, including director Sam Raimi, the production designers, costume designers, and visual effects technicians complete this celebration of a groundbreaking motion picture.

Even the title of the post is wrong...Green Goblin, Doc Ock, Sandman, Venom and New Goblin are all gone...so, listen up people; Venom won't be back for Spider-Man 4!!!!!

But, to be honest, I don't see Spider-Man 5 and 6 being made...they should stop at number 4...numero 4 can bring in the wedding, and finish off with great villains, not add any "lesser" villains...that's why Lizard and Kraven would work so well in this installment...perhaps another villain like Electro or Scorpion, but that's it...if you have Shocker, Rhino or Vulture in a movie, that would be terrible...at least Electro has a great power and that Scorpion is like another one of those anti-Spider-Man villains (like Lizard) that has a bug-like power (scorpion) and make him go through stages like in TAS (where his skin started to turn green and his teeth became sharper, etc.)...so, Spider-Man 4 should be the last for the franchise...they started with Green Goblin, Spidey's greatest nemesis, then they went down on the list of Spider-Man's greatest enemies; Doc Ock, Venom, Sandman, New Goblin (he's just like a Green Goblin II), and to finish off the list, you need Lizard and also Kraven, and possibly either Electro or Scorpion (I would rather see a minor appearance of those villains that stupid ones like Rhino and Shocker and especially Vulture...old guy in a suit, doesn't do any wonders for me), and that is enough for me...also why Sinister Six would suck if it were in a movie...it shouldn't be done.

I can see where you are coming from ^^^... but the problem is Sony still wants to do three more movies, and they have a budget to do just that... I don't know why they'd lie about something like unless SM4 flops or something, but I doubt it will. Yes the greatest villains have been used... but there are still stories to tell... and I don't want to see the series end on a wedding... that is just so cliche and drawn out...THat said Lizard/Kraven is good for SM4... but it doesn't work as a finale to a series of this magnitude... which is why it would need some kind of follow up.

They will continue to make these movies as long as they are profitable. They won't stop at 4 just to end on a happy note. This thing is to huge to Sony and Marvel and they will milk it till its dead.

Yes, but to me...when Raimi stops, I'll stop watching future Spider-Man movies...because when the times comes that Sam Raimi steps down, then that should be a huge sign that there's no more original stories to go from now...and no more exciting villains to put on-screen. That'll hopefully show Sony that since Raimi, the guy who made all it happen, if he's quitting, then that should be it for Spidey to be in a movie.

..unless they wanna do an Ultimate Avengers movie...like the New Avengers with Spidey, Wolverine, etc.

thats no reason not to give it a chance. You are saying that there is no way in hell that someone else can step in and give a decent effort on their take. I can't imagine not going to see another Spiderman movie for that reason at this stage.

I think it should be...

Doc Ock
Sandman
Mysterio
Shocker
Rhino
Electro

mainly cause Shocker, Rhino, and Scorpion are pretty self explanitory villains and don't (nessecarily) need too much of a back story, in which I would hope Scorpion is part of like a 4 or 5

their leader how ever should be king pin, but he puts the tactical job in the hands of doc ock

but spidey won't be alone, former foe's turn to his aid in this one, Lizard (4), Harry (3 assuming he doesn't die, which is very possible), and Kraven the Hunter (possibley a 5) all have spidey's back in the last fight

Oh, come on. What if Peter Jackson or Steven Spielberg directs with a script by Robert Towne and Stan Lee?

Stan Lee needs to stop writing. seriously. a movie from him would be atrocious. worse than "Batman & Robin." and i say that as a fan of all his creations.

I almost bet Raimi will at the least stay on as producer

It would be badass if they could get like Alfonso Cuaron to take the helm

I agree. I never want to see the Sinister Six on film. We'd be treading into "Batman and Robin" territory. However, I do want to see some more members of the six in future Spider-Man films. Namely Kraven and Electro. Mysterio could work if Bruce Campbell were to play him, and if he wasn't a "serious" villain. Vulture on the other hand is too campy.

Don't see Sandman now becoming a member since he basically is a good guy in SM3.Don't see Carnage as a member because spidey would defeat him in a second since spidey now knows the symbiote's weakness.

Not to mention that Carnage will never make the big screen.

Only way I could see Sandman being a member is he got black mailed, like in the comics.

spidey 4: lizard, kraven, chameleon (& maybe hobgoblin)

spidey 5 (with new director): mysterio & scorpion storylines

spidey 6: the sinister 6 should be a team-up of all the B-level villains:
1. electro
2. vulture
3. rhino
4. shocker
5. mysterio (returns)
6. scorpion (returns)
