I mean 2 face was a really cool villian and he only came in the movie for about 30 mins and then died in the end!! I thought he should have stayed on to the next movie!! What do you think?

Careful. If you have an opinion that the movie should be different than it was, you'll most likely be chastised by the Ditto Heads.

:doom: :doom: :doom:

The thing is the story was BUILD on the rise and fall of Harvey Dent. So it's really hard to say... I think if they had gone more TLH ending it could have worked, but for this story? Nah not so much.

Sure, if you want the entire thematic structure of the film to break down.

Lets add a 20 minuite action set piece to No country for old men's climax as well.

He killed five people apparently, that's hardly nothing. The way I look at it is it's Dent's entire arc, from his rise to his eventual destruction. It follows his established story more or less, so instead of killing off the character after 30 minutes it's killing him off after two and half hours.

For how well Two-Face was portrayed in TDK, I REALLY wanted him to be around for the third installment. I felt like they didn't even explore the character to the fullest. After the Two-Face transformation, all we saw was angry/revenge Two-Face, and we never really saw him flip-flop between Harvey Dent and Two-Face. It was a huge disappointment that he died, IMO.:csad:

Maybe, maybe not.

I was happy with what I got from him; this is not the comics Two-face but Nolan's version and as such it did everything he had to.

That said, I'm even happier that no one is discussing that he didn't actually die.

Im pretty sure he died in the end and I saw this movie at the Imax it was heartbreaking!! :csad:

I'm torn on this issue. Two-Face was awesome in TDK, so I wish this wasn't the last we'd see of him. But honestly, how long can a guy live with those injuries?! Also, what is there left for him to do in a sequel really? I feel like all that was established in TDK could easily be damaged by continuing the character's story. But then again I feel if anybody could pull it off, Nolan would be the guy.

Two Face was great. But his death fits into the story.

"You either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain"

Dent lived long enough to become the villain, but due to Batman's sacrifice, Dent died a hero.

Keeping him alive changes nothing thematically as the movie is about Madness not death. The character was set-up and then rather than expand and develop him he was killed off. What did he have to live for after he got his revenge? Who knows? Was Bruce Waynes crusade over after Joe Chill died? Of course not. There is a bigger picture. Dents story was only really beginning. TDK covered his rise and then fall from grace but the message is exactly the same whether he lives or dies at the end as the character is a broken man. He has fallen. The interesting thing from my point of view would be to have seen what happens next. Two-Face is a great character. He has a deeply personal connection to both Batman and Bruce Wayne which could have been developed. As of now I don't see how The Riddler, Catwoman, The Penguin etc could be anywhere near as engaging in the next movie.

"Whatever happened to Deacon Rames? Where did his name come from and why was it quickly replaced by HH?"

If Two-Face had lived and managed to dodge the cops I could see him becoming a dark version of Batman, hunting down criminals and then killing them. If he'd lived and gone to Arkham he could receive visits from Batman and Gordon, both of whom would try to talk him back to sanity. I can't say I'd prefer either to the original ending. I prefer Harvey dead, unable to redeem himself, and Batman talking the fall for his crimes.

I was slightly disappointed that he died, because I think he is a pretty good villian, but it was relevant to the story, and it was a great ending for the film.

Besides, in Nolan's realistic vibe, he wouldn't have lasted long anyway, because his face would be very easy to catch infections. :hehe:

Batman: I won't break my one rule! I won't break my one rule! I won't break my one rule! I won't break my one rule!

Latest info from Eckhart is that Harvey is definitely dead.

Yeah, I found that pretty weird. Maybe it only apllies to the Joker, as he had no problems in pushing Harvey off the building. :hehe:
