It's all in the title.

Everyone except Katie Holmes, was an excellent cast top to bottom with the exception of Katie Holmes

Christian Bale - Probably the best in the movie. He did a damn good job

Michael Caine - He's a classic. of course he was good.

Liam Neeson - Very good too.

Katie Holmes - Kick her face. Awful.

Gary Oldman - Excelent.

Morgan Freeman - Terrific, he was extraordinary.

Cillian Murphy - For me, open eyes and slow voice are not "scary."

Tom Wilkinson - Another great performance.

Narrows Kid - Kill him.

My vote goes to Bale who had lots to do and did it really good, but almost all of them were simply fantastic.

Liam Neeson owned every scene he was in.

Liam Neeson - Ducard/Ras al Ghul.

imo.

Jimbo. I just have no complaints. I have no complaints for Ra's too. Neeson and Oldman were perfectly cast.

Bale and Cillian.

I voted for a few, but Bale was tops.

Christian Bale: He was the Batman/Bruce Wayne, he's great actor.

Michael Caine: he's was good Alfred but Gough always the best.

Liam Neeson: he matched Bale with great performance.

Katie Holmes: She was alright but I rather have Maggie G in the role.

Gary Oldman: he looked like the Year One Gordon and greast actor as well.

Morgan Freeman: right choice cast as Fox and he was great.

Cillian Murphy: He was good as Dr Crane/Scarecrow.

Tom Wilkinson: He was alright but I prefered Al Pacino as The Roman.

Bale, Neeson and Oldman were best.

Katie gave the most straight forward, not played for laughs performance in the whole film.

Christian Bale: Best performance in the whole movie. Which is a seemingly impossible task given his coworkers. 10/10

Michael Caine: He's a legend and a mentor figure par excellance. 10/10.

Liam Neeson: Great as the unhinged who truly beleives he is doing the right thing. That is the sign of the classical bad guy. 9/10.

Katie Holmes: Underrated. She didn't have good dialogue from the get go. Did what she could with what little was given. 6/10.

Gary Oldman: The perenial bad guy gets a chance to finally show how diverse he really is as a comedic as well as stoic good guy. 9/10

Morgan Freeman: Morgan f**king Freeman. 10/10.

Cillian Murphy: Very cold and calculating villain. Although could've been more psychotic. 8/10.

Tom Wilkinson: Terrific mafioso. It's like a performance out of an early Tarantino movie. Witty and fast. 8/10.

Narrows Kid? :woot:

Everyone was pretty great, but I'll go with Bale.

Even with such an ensemble cast, obviously the movie rested on his shoulders. Make no mistake, this movie belonged to Bruce/Bats, not to the villains. Bale was probably in 95% of the scenes.

Like Christopher Reeve made you believe a man could fly, Bale made you believe a man could dress up as a bat to fight crime. He was believable. He was driven, without coming off as psychotic.

I'd have to give it to Bale, but for supporting cast standouts I'd say Liam Neeson and Cillian Murphy, although everyone is terrific except Katie Holmes.

Bale, Caine, Neeson, Oldman and Morgan Freeman were all great IMO

in order:
Christian Bale - Bruce Wayne/Batman
Gary Oldman - Jim Gordon
Cillian Murphy - Jonathan Crane/Scarecrow
Liam Neeson - Ducard/Ras al Ghul
Michael Caine - Alfred Pennyworth
Morgan Freeman - Lucius Fox
Tom Wilkinson - Carmine Falcone
Katie Holmes - Rachel Dawes

Like everyone said, they were all brilliant. Gary Oldman was just born to play Jim Gordon.

Gary Oldman's performance was pretty much phoned in.

He didn't really do much with the role besides be reserved and gruff. Which is acceptable but nothing extraordinary.

You're right but you know that's just not how things work around here. You either love it or hate it, no middle ground.

And i say katie because I've seen star wars episode 1 and was more impressed with quigon than liam's similar role here. He looked so bored. I've got nothing against bale but I also wasn't really seeing much here than what you'd find in an average performance by macho man. He seemed very nervous his first time. He'll be better next movie surely. Phoned in is the words I'd use to describe Alfred, Red, and Super Mario Gordon... omg I'll get backlash for that but blind will protect me!

Katie, for all the hate she recieves held herself together. I can't say I gave much of a damn about angsty emo-hair bruce, but Katie added some real emotional ground that for some reason elevated my concern for her character even though she's really just not supposed to be in the movie. weird. OMG NOLAN CHANGED TEH COMICS!!!1 AHHHH She wasn't just a screaming lunatic like dunst. and she actually even gave us a treat at the end of the movie, so best damn performance in my book.

Morgan Freeman is an excellent actor. I voted Morgan Freeman.

I voted for Freeman as well. The guy is an amazing actor with the pedigree to back it up,
