Who did you guys think was the Best Actor out of Bruce Wayne/Batman - Christian Bale, Harvey Dent/Two-Face - Aaron Eckhart, and lieutenant Jim Gordon/ commissioner Jim Gordon - Gary Oldman?

I believe...

Best = Gary Oldman
Second Best = Christian Bale
Third Best = Aaron Eckhart

the only reason Aaron Eckhart is last because I despised Two-Face in TDK, I don't know he that's exactly how he is like in the comics, but I did not like him

Is the aim of this thread to divide the characters in the film?

They were all good. If one of them was gone; the whole thing would have been off.

No, how the actors played the characters in the film

In that case...

They were all pretty much what I wanted them to be and had their moments.

Everyone Raves about Ledger in the interrogation scene (with great merit) But Bale's enraged Batman was totally believable and a great polar opposite of Joker in that scene. If Bale didn't do as great a job he did;t hat scene wouldn't have worked as well.

Gary Oldman: Well he's the man; he IS commissioner Gordon; but, in the end with Two-Face and James Jr he really sells us Gordon in the best way. I can't stress how great Oldman was in this film; I'm glad they gave him more to do in the film.

Aaron Eckhart: Perfect; his transition was perfect and the part he had made sense. He just wasn't killing people cause he lost his mind; how lame is that. He was getting revenge and he was the white Knight gone bad. This really sells Harvey Dent and Eckhart was Crucial.

I voted Bale but its really hard to not say Oldman. I would honestly say they tie.

They were all awesome, I can't make up my mind.

For me:

1. Aaron Eckhart
2. Gary Oldman
3. Christian Bale

Where is the option for "all three"?

Aaron Eckhart as Harvey Dent/Two-Face

I like all three.

Gary Oldman

Aaron Eckhart
Gary Oldman
Christian Bale

Perfectly said.

The best with Gordon was on the roof-top near the end screaming at Batman there is no time and that they have to save Dent, that HE has to save Dent.

I still can't believe a superhero type film has gotten so much emotion out of me lol

I felt Gary Oldman was the best out of all of them. He was exactly what Gordon should have been.

Eckhardt was good as well, but there were a few scenes where he looked like he lacked confidence. But that was minor.

Bale was great as both Bruce and Batman, but I think his Batman voice was too raspy (like many).

I voted for Gary Oldman, though I thought Christian Bale was just as amazing. Honestly Eckhart was great but I thought the other two were more successful in emulating their characters.

I can't bring myself to vote in the poll because I don't want to have to pick! :waa:

I voted Bale, but I was very surpirsed on how well Oldman and Eckhart did in this one.

I'm gonna say Oldman because he pretty much is Gordon taken right from the printed page. That said, both Bale and Eckhart were both awesome too.

"We got you son of a *****"

Gary ruled as Gordon!

He is the man.

Eckhart
Oldman
Bale

Ironically enough, prior to watching TDK, I was absolutely positive this list would be completely the other way around. So that was a surprise.

I personally love all three.

*SPOILERS*

While Bale is among my favorite actors of this generation, I knew what to expect out of his Bruce/Batman. And while both were characterized and acted fantastically, Bale didn't do anything in his performance that made me go "". This isn't knocking his performance at all, bu the other two on the poll wowed me.

I knew Eckhart would be good, having seen Thank You for Smoking, but I was surprised by the pathos he brought to the character. Credit it due to Jonah Nolan for writing a great Dent/Two-Face, but with a lesser actor neither would have been done as well. With Two-Face's scarred side being so entrancing to watch whenever he's on screen, I feel some (myself included) miss the subtleties Eckhart brought, which is a shame.

Oldman. My god, he is Gordon, bar none. You really felt for him on the rooftop when he says he has to save Dent, as many have said, but also when he reunites with his wife and son and, similarly, when he and Dent are having their final confrontation.

I'm gonna have to go with Oldman on this one.
