This is ridiculous. Not a sould on these message boards thought Tom Jane was a good choice or even thought of his name prior to the rumors of his casting in the first film.

Tom was though awesome in the role. Hopefully by some miracle he'll come back. But don't be so ridicuously close minded (if you're a Punisher fan) to say you wont' see the film without him. That's just BS cause if the casting is decent and the trailers look good...you'll be there. You can say all you want about how you want...but you'll be in the theatre when it comes out. As much as I love Tom's work I'm going to the theatre to see a Punisher film. Not a Tom Jane film. The Punisher is the draw. Now if Gilbert Godfried is cast to play Frank Castle...then that's another story. Let's see how it pans out before saying you'll never see it. Unless you're not a Punisher fan and just a TJ fan. That's different too. Again...let's hope somehow or another he does come back but as Kurt said in his blog...this has to be more than just a simple script issue. It might be that the right script for Tom isn't available and if Lionsgate doesn't start filming this year the rights will revert back to Marvel. So there might be NO choice for LGF to go with what they have and Tom doesn't like it.
And with that statement, you are very, very wrong. I've been here the whole time and quite a few people thought this was a great move. Myself included, defending it on messageboards everywhere. It was only solidified when the movie was released. So let the fans be upset. If Lionsgate 'can' get its act together, then let them prove the fans wrong. If they cant, then I prefer them wait it out til the rights are gone.
Thats not a critique, its just an observation.
