Not in this movie but at the end of the Marc Webb series? I think so many of us were so hurt by the way the Raimi series ended because it wasn't expected, there was still room for more films. Plus, although I hate Miles Morales, I thought the death of Spider-Man Story Arc in Ultimate Spider-Man was brilliant.

I think they should try and write the Spider-Man series like a 5 act play. Have Gwen die in the second Act and Peter die in the fifth in order to save Aunt May and Mary Jane, the way he couldn't save Uncle Ben and Gwen. What are your thoughts?

**** no. What would be the point?

Wasnt a good idea in Ultimate, and it will never be a good idea.

No. However, I would not be opposed to having a sequel where it appears that he has died. That could actually be interesting.

I do but only if the series were to extend past 3 films. I would love to see Andrew Garfield and Martin Sheen reenact this cover:

It's still breathtaking.

I think it would be a great conclusion to the saga and it would really drive home the idea that everything has an end.

I like the way you said this. So if it goes more than 3 films, I wouldn't mind. And since they're taking a lot from the Ultimate series, why not?

Is this another one of your schemes to get the rights back to Marvel??

How would having Peter die get the rights back to Marvel? It would just be a definite end to this Spider-Man series and would clear all ties for the next series to start.

I would love to see this, as stated above. I really think that, if handled properly, it could work fabulously.

My post was a reference to MJoD's other thread entitled "I Hope TASM fails." He indicated that he wanted the movie to blow so that Sony would lose the rights back to Marvel. I just know he's scheming something :woot:

All opinions on the reboot aside, I think it's very premature (and kind of dumb) to be talking about the next series.

This isn't about the next series, we are talking about how this one will end and, necessarily, how long this series will go.

Only if he stayed dead, and no one else took the mantle.

I want to pose a different question...

Does this thread, in the opinion of the posters, deserve to stay open in The Amazing Spider-Man (Spoilers) Forum?

To answer both of these....

Hell ****in' No.

To answer your question, I wouldn't mind it. In fact, I suggested a death of spidey in the films (before the ultimate comics death) once in these forums before. It didn't go down well lol.

BUT, only if it was handled with care and wasn't a massive cliche. Basically, it would have to be organic. Not just a death for the hell of it.

Answer is NO! But i think that Peter after they release Webb's trilogy, at end of the third movie decide that he wont be Spider-Man anymore (reason like he lost Gwen Stacy only because he is Spiderman, villains making his life worse, he dont want Gwen Stacy story repeate with Mary Jane...). He put his costume in bag, tie bag with rope around stone, and throw into the Sea.

I don't know if it is a good idea to kill spidey but I like the idea that the POSSIBILITY is there for the conclusion of the trilogy like in TDKR, no one can say for certain that nolan wont kill batman (it's unlikely but not an impossibility).

batman sidetrack; I just saw the clint eastwood super bowl ad, he would be so perfect for the dark knight returns. 'I'm a liability and you, you're a JOKE'.
