Based on what we have seen, heard, and read so far who do you think is the main villain?

edit:

From the beginning I've always thought that the symbiote was the main villain. When it was announced that Sandman was Uncle Ben's true killer I was thrown off. Yet, as I think about it more I think symbiote is indeed the main villain in the story.

Why? Well, let's start with Sandman. Capt. Stacy informed Peter and Aunt May that Flint Marko is the real killer. Yet, what proof does he have? Does he have evidence that will hold up in a court of law? Did Marko confess to the crime? We don't know. As a result there is still the chance that towards the end of the film it will be revealed that there was a mistake and Flint didn't actually kill Uncle Ben. Now, let's look at Harry. He can't be considered a villain per say. He's just a misguided young man. The same can be said about Eddie Brock. So, that leaves us with the symbiote. The symbiote turns Peter Parker into a bad guy. Then, it bonds with Eddie and becomes Venom!

Your thoughts?

Sandman, because they already said hes the main villain.

sandman because he was confirmed the main villian and seems to be the villian that has the most screen time.

They say its Sandman, but I have always doubted that since day one! Harry is the one who makes the most sense! The Peter vs. Harry moment has been building since the first movie. So, why would they make him a secondary villain?

Perhaps Sandman will have the most screentime, but I think story-wise Harry is the primary villain with Sandman and Venom as secondary villains.

But thats just me!

For some reason I think Vemon is going to appear towards the end of the movie, so they could leave it open to make SM4. but this is just my opinion. Sandman would end up been the "main" villian.

well venom will not have a ton of screen time but atleast we will see him fight in the final battle. that is always a good thing:sym:.

Sandman. I'm pretty sure it was already confirmed.

Have you ever thought that they are tricking you? Think about it for a second. Sandman as the primary villain doesn't make any sense. At the end of Spider-Man 1, Harry, swore revenge on Spider-Man. And, now he will FINALLY battle Spider-Man once and for all. So, why is he a secondary villain? UNLESS, Raimi, doesn't see Harry as a villain. If thats the case then perhaps Harry is the main antagonist!

I'm just saying!

Venom is going to be in the final battle and I really doubt he'll return for a sequel

Sure it makes a lot more sense for Harry to be the main villain. But seeing as hes only going to be fighting Peter once and Sandman will fight Spidey at least 3 times, Sandman wins this one.

yeah it was.

Maybe they're trying to fool us. Remember when Back to the Future, part II was released the director told everyone that the hoverboard was real?

So, I mean...c'mon!

So what if Harry fights him once? Do we exactly know what role Harry will play? I mean...there's a reason why Peter is throwing that pumpkin at Harry in the trailers.

Crap forgot about that part

I have a feeling the second fight may be cooler than the first. But, anyway, isn't Harry trying to steal MJ away in this film? I think people are underestimating Harry.

Okay, why would they want to trick us that Sandman is the main villain? Fisrt off, I don't see why they would want to trick us about which villain gets the most screentime. It seems pretty pointless. I mean, no offense to Sandman fans, but he's SANDMAN, a character who's thought of as a boring villain by the general audience. If anything, they would want to trick us that Venom is the main villain since he's one of the most popular Spider-Man villains.

Because that's making people believe that Harry and Venom won't do much. Don't be surprised in May when you see that Harry and Venom have much bigger parts than people would have thought.

I have a feeling that Sandman will just be like Rhino was in the animated series. Remember the 1994/5 cartoon series? Remember the Venom episode? Do you remember how Spider-Man almost killed Rhino and thats when he realized that the symbiote turning him into his worst nightmare. I think Sandman is just gonna be like Rhino.

Except Rhino wasent Uncle Ben's alleged "killer"

Catman, I mean this in the nicest way possible, but I think you're talking a load of BS!

Sandman is the main villain. No doubt about it. He is the driving force for Peter's rage in this movie on account of what he did to Uncle Ben. Brock is just some little side character who gets all pissed off at Peter Parker.

You know it. I know it. We all know it.

To begin with, we're not 100% sure how that Uncle Ben thing will work out. Is Flint Marko proven as the murderer or is he an alleged murderer? There's a difference.

Secondly, I don't see symbiote Spider-Man having endless battles with Sandman. I see symbiote Spider-Man defeating Sandman is one fight! Maybe regular Spidey and Sandman will have a couple of fights, but I think symbiote Spidey will defeat Sandman in one fight. He's THAT pissed off.

Also, lets go back to the trailer. We see symbiote Peter throwing the pumpkin at Harry. Now...who does symbiote Peter attack first? Sandman or Harry? And, does Peter find out about Flint being the killer before or after getting the symbiote?

You see where I'm getting at?

Brock is just some little side character who gets all pissed off at Peter Parker.

Eddie Brock will not be treated as a little side character. Raimi admitted that the reason Eddie/Venom is in the movie is because he knew that he's a fan favorite. So, Raimi is not gonna treat Eddie/Venom as a piece of crap. Even if the character has little screentime I'm sure every minute the character is on screen will be the most memorable. I mean...look at Silence of the Lamb. Believe it or not, but Hannibal is on screen for like a total of 15 minutes yet he's the one we all remember!

Peter finds out about Sandman being the killer in a police station from Captain Stacy, as seen in the trailer. This takes place between the first Sandman fight and before Peter gets the symbiote.

Also Spidey fights Sandman for a 3rd time along with Venom at the construction site at the end of the movie.

Yep, both the Q&a and the script summary both clearly say that, plus we saw sand all over the place at the construction site during the trailer. From the trailers alone, you can tell that Sandman will get the most screen time of the 3 villains. And even if Harry gets a similar amount of screentime, he fights with Spidey at the end so you couldn't really call him the main villain of the film.

This is my prediction. Peter as Spider-Man goes searching for Sandman with no luck. Then, somehow the symbiote finds him. When Peter is exhausted from searching all day for Sandman he basically gets home and falls asleep. He's so tired that he doesn't even take his suit off.

Then, with the symbiote he feels more powerful. And, of course, tests the suit. Sandman is then robbing another bank and this time Peter is gonna avenge Uncle Ben. I think after the battle in the sub-way symbiote Spidey is gonna think he killed Sandman. Obviously with the symbiote controlling him he's not gonna feel too bad.

And, thats when symbiote Spidey goes crazy. Which basically leads to him throwing that pumpkin at Harry. So, I don't know, its just a thought!
