Who is your favorite female villian of the Batman mythos?

I think most going say Catwomen and Poison Ivy :hehe:

I would imagine so too Morg, but I also think alot of people don't really consider Catwoman a villian anymore neither.

By the way, wasn't Nocturna or whatever her name is supposed to have returned to the books?

Lady Shiva. Although you could argue that she's more of a batgirl villian, she still had some 'murderous' times with Bruce aswell. I just love the 'master versus student' aspect of her character, every time she takes on either Robin or Batgirl. She is a really fascinating character, vicious, yet scarily logical in her doings.

Catwoman because she matches Bruce/Batman. Perfect for each other.

Individually they are blah, but when you pair up Ivy with Harley they have impecable chemestry and always play off each other well.

My picks:

Catwoman
Poison Ivy
Lady Shiva

Catwoman, the obvious choice, will always be number one. The relationship between her and Bruce is one of the best in comics to date. Bruce has enormous feelings for her but at the same time, isn't fond of half the things she does.

I also like Lady Shiva, for the same reasons batpawn listed.

1) Catwoman - Because she was the first!

2) Harley Quinn - Because Crazy chicks rule!

3) Talia - Because i think she really loves Bruce!

Catwoman - Goodie, baddie, temptress, flirt, ass kicker, and one of the few women who really pulled on Bruce's heartstrings.

Harley Quinn - One of the most pathetic women ever. She's a doormat to the Joker. He can physically and verbally abuse her, use her, dump her, and even try to kill her, but she'll always go back to him. But you cannot help but love her. Crazy, quirky, psychotic, with a dash of innocence.

Poison Ivy - Ivy is one of the most twisted members of Batman's rogues gallery. The things she does to people in the name of mother nature makes your skin crawl. Her friendship with Harley is also a delight.

You nailed it, especially with Harley Quinn.

I choose Catwoman, for obvious reasons.

Harley and Ivy are my favorites but there's one big problem with them - they can't stand on their own very well, particularly Harley.

Harley is such a fun character when she's written well, but she has to be teamed up with The Joker, Ivy, or Batman. She was written to be dependent and pathetic and without someone to motivate her she wouldn't be much of a threat. People could beg to differ but I personally hated her solo series.

Ivy can hold her own as a villain, sure, but as a character she works so much better with a teammate. Without someone working with her she's just the typical sex pot femme fatale.

I do love Selina when she's well written, but for every one writer who gets her right there are ten writers who completely screw her up.

I like cat Woman. She's my favorite female villain. I liked Michelle Pfeiffer playing her.

The main three. Selina, Harleen, and Pam.

Ivy. She and Bruce had a chemistry, both in and out of uniform (which cannot be said of any of the others). They were getting pretty close in Gotham Knights when Bruce cured her of "Ivyness." Hush and Bruce fought over her in the parking lot. Elliot was crazy about Pamela and warned Bruce off. Bruce basically said it was the lady's decision to make! Some really good graphic novels with those two! Batman Year One, the Hothouse for example. Even in No Man's Land, she kept flirting, calling him "lover" and was upset when Clayface attacked the Bat.

Sirens #12 looks interesting. Thank goodness Ivy appears to control her 'green' color and is getting back to her research/scientific roots.

I've always liked Lady Shiva, because unlike the other female Batman villain sshe isn't constantly used as a sex object.

Talia, gimme a break. That's just the incarnated fantasy of a middle-aged man.

That reminds me: BAtman needs a new female villain, but an ugly one.

Does Catwoman count? Because she's more of an anti-hero or straight out hero at this point...but if she does, I have to go for her. Attitude, smarts, ass-kicking...and a skintight leather costume and a whip :D Put all that together you have a recipe for goodness!

If Catwoman's out of the running I would say it's a tie between Poison Ivy and Talia Al Ghul

-Catwoman
-Harley
-Poison Ivy

-Clayface 4 (I think)
-Lady Shiva
-Talia Al Ghul
-The New Ventreloquist

I agree oh and doesn't the name Orca ring a bell? :hehe: I guess a non crappy ugly one could be interesting though.

My problem with Batman villainesses is that they are basically all sexually based, which irritates me to no end. To me, Poison Ivy shouldn't even be like that since she's a part of Mother Nature, which is why I'm always annoyed when she's shown nearly completely naked instead of clothed in plants like such a incarnation of nature should be.

It's probably why Shiva is my favourite, that is the classic Shiva before she rather stupidly became everyone's punching bag in modern DCU. This was a frightening character who could totally outmatch Batman in martial arts and was dedicated to the art of killing. Now she gets taken out by a single punch or poisoned chocolate

My first favorite is Poison Ivy, with Talia al Ghul being a very close second.

I have a soft spot for beautiful, sadistic, "save the rainforests" women.
