So here’s a question that I have for everyone here. Without getting into any arguments of who you think is the better hero, since this is not what this thread is about and lord knows that conversation could really get heated up once started, I wanted to ask everyone this:

Between Henry’s Superman and Ben’s Batman, which hero do you feel NEEDS the most exposure/focus from this upcoming film?

I’ve heard arguments from both sides going from on how Ben’s Batman needs this in order to establish the new Batman for this DCU while others have said that despite Henry just having had a Superman film, he needs more exposure in order to be firmly established as “Superman” within the DCU.

Thoughts?

Both are no doubt going to get equal focus. Though, I hope it's from Superman's point of view kinda how Avengers was from Captain America's POV.

I picked Henry just cause it hasn't been confirmed whether this is a true sequel....either way I'd be happy if its both

I want a true sequel. Although if this is a "one-off" and Ben directs the sequel, that would be even better ;)

I want Superman more time but they should give both the same time

Being a Superman fan first and foremost, I'd prefer that Big Blue get a little more screen time. Aside from the need to fully establish his character, I would also note one of the lessons of the Nostalgia Critic's comparison of Batman '89 and The Dark Knight: Ultimately he preferred Keaton's Batman over Bale's and Ledger's Joker over Nicholson's for the same reason - in the case of the former, we knew much less about the character, which made them that much more compelling.

I feel that if Affleck's Batman is seen less, he becomes more mysterious and intriguing for the audience, which suits a character like Bats. The audience has already seen through the Nolan movies the origins of Batman and his gear, so it would be better to simply focus on a new adventure and the story at hand than explore Batman's back story, which the audience already knows.

There's gonna be lots of disappointed posters once it's made clear this isn't a Superman movie.

I'm a Huge Superman fan first. That said, it is a rebooted/new batman, so I think they will want to show him in a good light.
I feel they'll get equal screen time.

I expect 50/50, but probably be told through Superman's perspective.

I don't know about exposure, but I feel like Superman NEEDS more expansion of character, and that's why I hope the story is weighted more towards him in terms of character growth/arc.

Sure, Batman's introduction should be something different, something a bit ballsey even... But you don't need to expand on it yet, because you already know a solo film is coming.

You just need for his appearance to grab attention and make people curious what's to come.

Personally I don't care if one is more featured than the other in terms of screen time. I'm very confident they'll each have their own arcs that will intertme together to form a compelling narrative that advances the themes of what it means to be a hero and what heroes mean to humanity. It's a petty argument as to which is 'more important' and while its not surprising, it is a bit embarassing.

Has to be Superman. Everything about any kind of aftermath HAS to be formulated around Man of Steel and the tragedy and destruction that came about. Nothing about Batman, his cast or Gotham City is known. Right now, it doesn't exist so, this very well SHOULD be through the eyes of Superman with Batman the first major piece to the shared universe.

Well this poll Is going to cause a lot of disappointment when they see the final result.

Tell us more since you know everything, even more than the creators themselves, marvelrobbins.:woot:

I don't know everything. But the sooner more come to realation this Is both a
batman and Superman film not a man of steel sequel with batman In supporting
role.

They cast a major a List actor as batman who Is set to work on film from feburary to august 2014.

Yeah WB Is going to have superman overshadow Batman. When has that ever
happened?

WB Is obviously hoping focusing on both Superman and batman can give them dark Knight and Dark Knight rises level box office to compete with MS/Disney films.

If TDK shows us anything, you could be the main focus of a film and still have the supporting character steal the spotlight.

There is a good chance that this film will have Superman as the lead, but Batman ends up stealing the show.

Which would be a first for Cinematic Batman.

Honestly, with the way I see things, I think it's Superman who should get more focus and exposure in this film than Batman for the time being.

Why?

The character of Batman just came out of concluding a successful franchise that was spearheaded by Christopher Nolan. Does the character really need any more exposure at the moment?

Plus, it's already a given that Ben will be getting solo films somewhere down the line to play Batman, and I really doubt that Superman will appear in his films, so you could use them to explore and develop Batman's character.

Given on how the events of this film is likely to have been influenced by the ones that took place in "Man of Steel", it's more appropriate that the story takes more on Superman and how Batman's appearance, among other things, is a result of Superman's actions and presence on Earth.

I'm not saying that they should make Batman a minor character, but I believe that they can go about doing this film where it's still Superman's story like how "The Dark Knight" was, but that Batman is a major player within the film like how Harvey Dent was portrayed in that film as well.

Honestly, would it really hurt the film if Batman is portrayed in the same level of importance that Harvey Dent was in TDK? I don't think so. Superman needs this film, more so than the Dark Knight.

It won't really make a difference to the character of Batman if this isn't a World's Finest film because he'll get his own solo films later on, but it will for Superman since he needs more films that are dedicated more towards his story than anyone else.
