Luke Cage Who shot Buggy Stokes? (SPOILERS)

I'm pretty sure I missed the answer to this, so I thought I would ask.

The conflict this season centered on the Hatfield and McCoy conflict between the Stokes and the McIvers. I know the two groups originally planned to share Harlem's Paradise and all that and it fell apart. But there was one thing I missed. When they were negotiating in Jamaica, Mama Maybelle said she refused to give half the bar to them because they shot Buggy Stokes.

First, did I hear that correctly? Were they responsible for his death? If so, does anyone know the reason?

Obviously, after that, Mama Maybelle responded by throwing a Molotov Cocktail into Bushmaster's house and killing his mother, but I couldn't figure out what started the whole thing.

The Italian Mafia wanted in and told Buggy he could keep the club if he killed Quincy. So Buggy shot Quincy. Quincy was able to shoot back and cripple Buggy before he died. Buggy lasted for five months before succumbing to complications from the bullet wound.
