Homecoming Who should be the Villain in Spider-Man (2017)? - Part 4

I though I read Josh Keaton and got ultra hyped. Michael Keaton is Vulture end story.

Shocker as the villain for Homecoming...I definitely would love it

there were rumours a few months ago that Keaton was going to play the Scorpion.

I guess I could see Keaton as Vulture. It just seems like low balling with an actor as big as him. That's like casting Mcaughnahey as Shocker. It would work, but why would you do that?

'Cause maybe they're going to reinvent the character of Vulture.

Hell, John f'n Malkovich was going to be Vulture and you could argue it'd be 'low balling' there too, except Raimi also had plans to reinvent him.

FYI to those who are talking Osborn for Michael Keaton... He's actually OLDER than Bryan Cranston (for those who have been telling me Cranston is too old for Norman).

Anyway, I'd be happy to see Michael Keaton in the Spider-Man series! I don't know if I see him as Vulture. I do get more of an Osborn vibe. I think he's too young for Silvermane (is there a rumor Silvermane is in this?).

Keaton is old so one of the old villains make sense.

Vulture, Older Norman, Silvermane, Ock. Although I'd prefer Norman be in his 30s or something.

Silvermane would be an interesting pick, as well, one that would carry over several films if done right. Kingsley is still my top pick, though, as far fetched as it seems. Especially if they used his more recent role as a sort of Power Broker.

Everybody wants a piece of Keaton now.

I love it.

Keaton as The Green Goblin? :hmm

No thanks. Too old, and looks it. I mean really Aunt May is much younger than him in this universe.

Say what? Doc Ock is not old. He's late 40's to early 50's. Same with Norman. In fact I even have an issue somewhere from the early 2000's that states Norman is 50 years old. I mean did Willem Dafoe and Alfred Molina look old to you? Or is your definition of old anyone over 40? ;)

When I heard this about Keaton my mind went right to Vulture.

He's already been a birdman before, let's not start typecasting him :o

Oh, and I think Ewan McGregor could do a good Norman Osborn, too.

Which would work in the Goblin's favour... He's never been a hugely masculine character (excluding USM). Slim, but agile. Strong, but not beefy.

Law's got the insane smile as well, which is a perfect bonus.

Hadn't thought of Law as Norman but yeah, I could see that. He can be both charming and creepy as heck.

Once he was rumored for Peter Parker back in 2001 or so before Raimi cast Maguire. Just think: today's Peter might be tomorrow's Norman Osborn. :o

My mind immediately went to Norman/Green Goblin when I heard the news about Keaton. Tell me that wouldn't be phenomenal casting.
