Justice League Who Should Be The Villain?

maybe he's chasing the last martian, or already has the last martian and act 3 is him escaping and helping.

maybe rumors of brainiac get to Oa and they send Jordan/Stewart to investigate

maybe things get personal when he tells superman he's the real reason Krypton is gone (depending on what MOS says)

Im now split between Darkseid and Brainiac. Brainiac could lead to Darkseid perhaps for a sequel. Unless Brainiac is used in a bigger way for MOS 2.

Or, he could be on his whole "digitize all information in the universe" thing and before he could get to Krypton, it was destroyed. Now that Kryptonians have re-emerged on Earth, he makes a beeline for it since he needs to acquire a Kryptonian to fulfill his mandate or whatever.

And Oa could perceive Kal-El's exodus to Earth as the early stages of the Kryptonian invasion of Earth and try to arrest him for it sending Hal Jordan to be the one to do so.

You know, I'm starting to think maybe they should use Darkseid for a MoS sequel. He'd be a great JL villain but he could also be a great personal villain for Superman. If Zack Snyder were to adapt the storyline from the animated series that could be and epic epic movie. So, I'm torn where Darkseid would be better used.

^Especially since Cavill stated that Brainiac shouldn't be the villain in the next Superman movie, that he would be better used in a role where he's hinted at in MOS 2 to build up for the future. He also seems to like the idea of Brainiac as a possible JL villain.

So maybe they can have Lex and Metallo for MOS 2 (Brainiac hinted at for a JL) and use Darkseid for Justice League 2. Which makes sense because he's so powerful that you would need the full 7 members. Including Aquaman and Martian Manhunter. I don't think we'll get those characters until the sequel anyway.

Darkseid could be a cool way to introduce Kryptonite as well... he'd show up all like "I know your weakness Kryptonian! Suck on this!" and whips out the green rock then proceeds to whoop Supes' blue behind XD

i think if you're gonna use doomsday, he should be the villain in mos 2. it would seem kinda ****ed up to have the league around and he still winds up dead. maybe the league could start because of his death.

I was thinking of something along the lines of the Death of Superman storyline. Superman and Doomsday fighting each other to the death seems like the most dramatic and best possible way to end Justice League 3 and the DC Cinematic Universe.

Im not a fan of a third JL idea just like I think a third Avengers is overkill. Id like to see the whole Death of Superman/Doomsday story happen in the last MOS movie. Right before the second and final Justice League that has the full lineup and Superman "resurrects" to defeat Darkseid.

Epic finale to the whole universe. The League is finished and everyone goes their separate ways, some retire.

Darkseid is hard to top. I honestly think that he's the ultimate villain for the biggest scale film a comic book movie can possibly do. They should go out like that.

Hmmm Despero.

Now with Goyer at the helm officially. The Beall script is in the past. Maybe they'll take some cues. Such as the 5 member lineup. But Hal was in that script, so maybe they'll change that to John. Maybe they'll add Martian Manhunter in a small role. Most importantly, Darkseid was said to be the villain. Maybe Goyer will change that to Brainiac or somebody else.

Goyer wont want to repeat Beall's way of doing things, neither will the studio.

I think Thanos wont be the main villain til Avengers 3 (2018) but he might appear in Guardians of the Galaxy next year, then another built-up cameo in Avengers 2. So maybe Darkseid isn't right for the first movie.

i hope eventually they use that scene out of JL Mortal where Barry realises he's the only one who can stop the villain and runs to central city to tell Iris he loves her, while in superspeed, and you see a single tear forming in her eye as she stands there frozen in time. His acceptance of his fate and sacrifice is a good way to eventually set up Wally down the road.

the JL Mortal script had alot of great things i'd love to see on screen. Where GL asks Flash early in the movie what it's like running that fast, and Barry says it's like time stops, it's a world of statues. I like the idea of not seeing Barrys POV till the final act.

Thank God. He worked for animation, but I don't need to see the annoying Kid Flash in live-action.

If Darkseid actually *needs* to haul out Kryptonite, then you are doing something very, very wrong.

Put me in the anti Darkseid camp. I happen to think the arguement that the GA will think that he's a copy of Thanos is a valid one. I know, it stings. Get over it. My 2 choices are either a Starro, Apallaxian and White Martians combo or THE CRIME SYNDICATE. The White Martians make J'onn's origin intergral to the plot. The Martians are under the control of Starro. After they are defeated Starro sics his last defense, his Elemental giants after the Leaguers.

If they don't use J'onn (which I would prefer they did, but if they didn't) I think they could substitute the White Martians for Atlanteans and Aquaman for J'onn as the person trying to reach out and warn the dryland. I think it would be a smooth introduction of Aquaman without a solo movie that also adds momentum.

If we go with the Syndicate as the villains we get something we have never really seen in a big budget superhero film: The classic MIRROR, MIRROR style alternate universe trope! The cheap way is just get the cast to play both roles, i.e. Cavil plays SUPERMAN and ULTRAMAN. I meant cheap as in money wise. The more expensive and ambitious course would be to get different actors. I would go for fancast favorite or those with a connection to their opposite number character. What I mean by that is, imagine Henry Cavil trading blows in mid air with Brandon Routh as ULTRAMAN? Gina C. as SUPER WOMAN throwing down with WONDER WOMAN. Nathan Fillion as a cowardly POWER RING. And if they want to spend the cash, get George Clooney to play a grizzled old OWL-MAN.

My CSA plot is straight forward. The CSA has nearly wiped out their world. Now like locusts they plan to cross dimensions and seize our world. The League comes togethdr in response to this threat. If's simple and it helps to introduce the multiverse concept to the GA. Infinite Earths has been a central DCU idea, and this way it makes it to the big screen.

Not all in that order. Now, I could see a villain like Darkseid in a Superman/Batman Apocalypse type film which would introduce Supergirl, but I fear that would tie the character to that franchise only. That's why I would be very careful where you place these character villains.
