Sequels Who Should play Carnage

I know he's not in the new one but if Carnage is going to be in a new spidey who do you think should play him?

I gave you my top 3 choices


Aaron Paul Guys metioning him for Venum, I think he would be much more suited to the Carnage roll. Would love to see some of Paul's tweaks he had as Jesse transferred on to a cold killer.


James Earle Haley He was awesome as Rorschach in Watchmen so we know he can do comics. His horror experience could make Carange the real terrifying villain he needs to be.


William Fichtner He's had comic-movie experience with TDK and has been cast to play Shredder in the new Turtles movie. However I think Fitchner would suit a darker villain and could bring the Psychotic problems to life.

So just no on Jim Carey!

I could see a Michael Massey (if he wasn't already in the movies) being a really good Carnage!

The actor should have a very different body style than the Venom actor. For example, Venom should be Eddie Brock, a very large (6'+), muscled actor that makes Venom look like this:

And by comparison, Carnage should look like this:

The point is that the physical attributes matter. Yes, once "tranformed" computers can add a lot, but using an actor that is smaller than Peter Parker for Venom would be stupid, as would using a much bigger actor for Carnage.

So the actor's stature needs to match.

The actor, of course, needs to be able to pull off the psycotic persona of Cassidy.

So here's a list of actors from the top 100 actors list of who I think could pull it off:

Ryan Gosling

He has the look, build and chops.

Matthew McConaughey

I'm not 100% convinced, but we know that he can do more than just comedic roles. He is talented and I could see him jumping into a role like this.

Robert Pattenson

Might be tough watching him and not thinking, "hey, it's that vampire dude", but he could pull off the look.

Ryan Reynolds

Actually, he could be amazing in this role, but really, he's Deadpool, so forget about it I guess.

Justin Tomberlake

Hmmm..... I could see it, maybe. He'd done some decent stuff and he has the look.

James Franco

Oh, never mind! Maybe if he had never given such a poor Harry performance.

Jake Gyllenhaal

I could see it. After seeing him in Prisoners, I think he'd be good.

So, there's my list.

Matthew McConaughey would make a good Herman Schultz (if they went the "SSM" route) or Montana from The Enforcers. But he can play whacked out crazy too.

Foster would be spot on. I didn't think about him before, but now since he was mentioned, interesting name. I'm also a huge Ryan Gosling fan, and he has played a couple of more "disturbing" roles lately, and there is potential for him to play a really twisted and dark role, but I don't see him as the kind of actor who would want to be in a Spider-Man movie. Who knows.

Buscemi wouldn't be a bad Cletus but as Carnage... it would be strictly voice-work.

If you wanted to go that route then I would suggest Sam Underwood from "The Following." He's one creepy bastard on it.
