Since Jon Bernthal is playing Frank Castle/The Punisher on the Netflix series Daredevil, I wonder who should play the Marvel Cinematic Universe equivalent of Frank Castle/The Punisher? Imagine The Punisher in the Marvel Cinematic Universe if Disney has the rights to The Punisher's character how could he even fit into the Disney universe?

The Daredevil series is still part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Did you really not know that?

Well they don't treat it as if it is a part of the MCU in the sense of The Punisher not being mentioned by any of the Avengers or even by SHIELD in any of the huge blockbusters

He hasn't because The Punisher is making his MCU debut in DD season 2, but you could say the same thing about Daredevil, Jessica Jones or any of the characters on Agents of SHIELD except Coulson. The movies never mention the shows, but the shows sure as hell mention the events of the movies. The Battle of New York was brought up a few times in DD season 1, and the Avengers were mentioned in Jessica Jones. They may yet show up in the movies, but as it is, I'd rather see Frank Castle on Netflix as opposed to being watered down in a PG-13 movie.

Unless they didn't water him down and they actually showed the brutality that is Frank Castle then I definitely would ship it...The Punisher he's sort of like Batman in the sense that he uses weapons and gadgets but he doesn't go around dressed in a cape and mask and costume...he's an ordinary man but he's a badass

Idris elba or that bloke from sherlock.

Jon Bernthal is the MCU Frank Castle.

Why would they? First of all, he hasn't even debuted yet. Secondly, he's a street level hero that mostly takes down mobsters and the like. Why would he be worthy of the attention of superpowered gods and demigods who spend their time saving the world from aliens, evil robots, demons, and major international terrorist organizations?

I think he meant that guy from Star Trek Into Darkness, Benedict something.

Jon Bernthal. Heard he's in a Netflix show where he punishes people.

Marvel should give him a look

Shane from the Walking Dead sounds like a great choice to me.

I've never heard Barack Obama mention you on television. This must mean you don't live in the same universe as him.

If they can't get Jon Bernthal, they should look at Dolph Lundren, sure he may be a little old, but he could be the Punisher.

Jon Bernthal is not just The Punisher we need...he's The Punisher we deserve.

Yeah, this thread is even more silly now that DD Season 2 is out. Bernthal rivals RDJ as the best casting decision Marvel has made. He stole the show.
