Who Should Play Sherlock Holmes

Who should play sherlock holms if indeed there was a revamping of the character like James Bond with Danial Craig and Batman with Christian Bale. Thats how i look at this.
You can see a revamping with Bond and Batman were successes. So i would give it a change if in fact it does happen
Ok who should play sherlock holms then. I shal poll a few choices and in my opinion he should be UK, British or Austrailian for either can do a accent for Holms if needed.
Give me a few moments to post the poll please and thank you. I put a few american actors in for there is a few id like to see as Holms.

I actually quite like the idea of Liam Neeson for the role. Sean Bean would be good too. Someone older, dignified.

I voted for Johnny Depp for he could do a weird but smart Holms or maybe Moriarty if Liam got it lol.

Depp would be good but i voted for Jackman, i can see the intense obsessive brooding side from the Prestige along with his knack for the theatrical, working well for the personality of Holmes, plus he's a decent fit look-wise.

Depp's pretty much done a variation of Sherlock Holmes in "Sleepy Hollow".

I love all these actors, and I'm sure many of them would make great Sherlocks, but Jeremy Brett is so completely etched into my mind as Sherlock that I can barely imagine anyone else doing it as well. I can imagine more Superman's after Christopher Reeve, but for some reason I can't imagine more Sherlocks after Jeremy Brett.

After viewing the list above, I'd choose Adrian Brody. ghe could be an excellent Sherlock Holmes

But please...no DEPP, he is being way too overused in Hollywood. Great actor but give someone else a chance.

Hugh jack man or Adrian brody where the first two actors to pop into my mind as i read your topic title. they have those European kind of facial features. like the skinny faces and long noses.

they seem like the most likely people to pull off a good Holmes.
