Homecoming Who should reboot villain be? (Poll Version) - Part 1

I had this brash idea on how to update the Green Goblin.

Take away his glider. Take it away, and give him wings like Vulture. Hobgoblin had it in the comics.

Maybe have Vulture work for Osborn and come up with a military program involving the wings which gives it's ties to Falcon. Osborn fired Toomes and Toomes attacked Osborn as the Vulture for revenge, and when Osborn becomes the Goblin, he makes improvements to the wings and uses it himself.

I see no reason why vulture origin has to be changed. He was a inventor who git robbed of things. He snapped wanted revenge. Heck I said I'm past there is great ways if we use toomies or Draco version on tying it to mcu with military and falcon project. And bam we have a nice connection to other mcu characters.

I do want gobby and Ock down the road. But we need to build to them. Have them as minor or supporting guys in background and slowly build up there turn into evil. So we can use them in later solo films or mcu team films. But let's at least for first two solo do one and one main threats or a minor and major threat with guys we yet to see. Like vulture mysterio shocker scorpion. For a few examples.

I was thinking they could have Ock introduced in the second film with his arms. But let's just say at first he's a bit less Ock and more Doc. As in he's just using the arms for science and working under Norman at that moment. But then it eventually drives him crazy possibly in movie 3 or 4 after an accident or sabotage.

Yeah, that's my take as well. It's simple, but it works well. Just make the person he wants to have revenge on another power player and you can have two worthwhile villains in the movie.

Well they can keep his origin and character the same. But I think they may have to change his powerset beyond just flight. Maybe some sort of projectiles. Or razor sharp wings.

It's not so much as changing it, but doing what Spectacular did (and I think the comics). Toomes came up with a flying apparatus and was double crossed by a business partner. I'm just saying it would be a neat tie in to the establish MCU, that the flying apparatus he came up with was stolen from him (double crossed) and used to create Falcon's wings.

Totally no reason to make silly changes or totally clean slate a back story. Not everyone has to have such a deep story. Hell case with many spidey rouges. Some are just simple criminals. Some are scientists. And some are etc.... he has a wide range of villain tropes we can use. And like I said the other day in one of the threads. Not every villain needs to be rule the world and blow up nyc.

Just seems like a natural explanation on why Vulture's and Falcon's tech look the same...

Totally that is why I say it be a good way to use vulture and connect him to other events and mcu stuff. If we go with toomies he invented the tech for the military. And they took it from him or he didn't get credit for it. And wants revenge. And we could throw in a falcon nod here. And toomies could be after s high ranking military guy. Who was in charge of the project. Or if we go Draco version we could still keep toomies was inventor of tech plot. And throw in Draco was in falcon unit. But got thrown out of the military by dishonest reasons. And now he stole falcon tech and is using it for crimes.

Now I'm confused. I thought you were arguing against changes to Vulture. Now you're agreeing with me about that connection. That's the stuff I was talking about for MCU Vulture (minus the Draco stuff I never mentioned).

I guess I miss understood, and we're on the same page, which I find we normally are when it regards Spidey!

He does have powers beyond just flight. His wings also have superstrength. They often play up how everyone underestimates him because he's a weak old man.

No no I was saying we keep toomies and the inventor thung. But like I brought up. If they wanted to connect some rouges to greater mcu stuff. They could say toomies was a contractor for the military. He came up with the tech that became falcon. But the military heads screwed him over..... and in a film he could just be out for revenge on said military guy. Or if it's Draco version tie him to falcon unit and he got thrown out of service. And go from there.

Movie 1: Mysterio
Movie 2: Kraven The Hunter
Movie 3: Doctor Octopus
Movie 4: The Vulture
Movie 5: Doctor Octopus,Vulture,Mysterio,Kraven The Hunter add 2 new villains to the movie in Rhino and Scorpion creating the sinister Six
Movie 6:The Sinister Six
Movie 7:Venom and Carnage
Movie 8: The Green Goblin

Wait, wait you can't have two movies with the Sinister Six.

Not really we could see sister 6 by a 3rd film. Like we do two villains per film. A main villain and a minor one. And by 3rd film we have 6 villains and have someone pulling there strings in the back ground. Heck we could also develop some folks in say agents of shield or in a separate marvel movie or something.

And Green Goblin for the last movie? No way, maybe the 5th or 6th at the most.

The idea would be to show Norman Osborn evolve as a character throughout the movies and the audience needs a long break from The Green Goblin give us a Chance to see other villians

6 movies is mre than enough time for Norman to evolve as a character. Imagine something more like this.

Movie 1: Mysterio and Shocker
Movie 2: Kraven and Scorpion
Movie 3: Doctor Octopus
Movie 4: The Vulture
Movie 5: Sinister Six, with Norman becoming Goblin at the end after the Vulture incident and the Black Suit
Movie 6: Green Goblin
Movie 7: Venom

For Sinister Six, I think you need to establish the biggest attractions. Some can be introduced for the first time when the SS get formed. Think of it as the Avengers - you need Iron Man, Thor, and Cap, but you don't need Black Widow and Hawkeye (yeah, I realize that both were introduced before Avengers, but work with me here).

I get that, but the final movie? You can have at least 4-5 movies without having The Green Goblin as the villain - just play up Norman there.

Agreed.

Movie 1: Mysterio
Movie 2: Kraven (Hobgoblin subplot)
Movie 3: Hobgoblin & Venom

Movie 4: Doc Ock
Movie 5: Morbious
Movie 6: Sinister 6

Yep, we're on the same page!

And I wouldn't introduce the symbiote and Venom so early, but, unfortunately, Infinity Wars is the perfect opportunity for Pete to obtain the suit. It's too nad, Sony didn't make this deal back when they rebooted with Amazing Spider-Man. Maybe with Marvel involved, we could have gotten a 19 year old Dylan O'Brien and we would already have 2 solo Spidey movies in the MCU.
