English is not my first language. Forum is example of how Venom is not number one villain everyone want to see like you say. Show where there was a lot of annoyed people about Venom spin off being cancelled. I saw no big complaining.

Only Venom fans would be annoyed if he not be put in movies and movies would still be successful and better off with no Venom.

I post lols at Vulture and Scorpion getting more votes than Venom when you say he the villain everyone want to see most. It was funny when numbers show opposite of that here.

This forum does not represent everybody. How can I show you people that I know being unhappy about it being cancelled. You just have to take my word that I have friends (I do, I swear, honest guv). Maybe only Venom fans would be annoyed but he has a lot of fans. He is up there with the Green Goblin and Doc Ock among others in terms of popularity from my experience of talking to people. I think a story made about Venom could be very good if done well and I think he as a character has more potential than lots of other characters. Just my opinion of course. I cannot scientifically prove that unfortunately. Once again, I point out that this forum does not represent everybody. Just because people on here would prefer Vulture and Scorpion does not mean that everyone does. Most people I know who do not read comics and only watch the movies and the cartoons when they were younger would prefer Venom over them two.

Ah, calm down, just a bit of fun. Jokes all around. My grammar isn't perfect either. We all make mistakes. That issue aside. Venom may be a horrible villain, but he's gonna be done whether people care or like it or not. That's a fact. No way around it point blank.

Please point out my errors and impart onto me your wisdom my dear friend. I always like to learn new things. I probably make lots of grammar mistakes but I do not post lols at other people.

I think he was talking about the guy you replied to. Anyways i'd also like to see Venom but not right away.. he definitely needs some buildup or else itd feel like spiderman 3 all over again

Barely anyone except a few fanboys gave a crap when the Venom spin off got canned. That goes for the dumb Sinister Six one, too.

If Marvel are smart cookies they'll steer right clear of Venom and the whole lame symbiote clan. They bring nothing but bad stories to the table. Spider-Man doesn't need them. Their popularity is overrated by their fans just like their characters.

Well I guess Marvel is retarted. Because there is no way in sams hell, gods green earth, or the entire existence of all reality that they'd EVER IN ALL OF THEIR HISTORY pass up a chance to do the Symbiote Arc. EVER. THEY WILL AND ARE GOING TO DO IT.

The symbiote story has been done. You may not have liked the way it was done, but it was, and because of that it would be repetitive to retell the story any time soon. You're going to give people the impression that there are only three Spider-man stories to tell over and over again, and that's going to make the character boring really quickly.

Spidey has always been my favorite marvel character but the recent depictions in live action, cartoons and video games are really starting to ruin him for me.

Personally I liked "The Alien Costume" (or whatever it was called) Spiderman film and I think it was one of the better Spiderman stories. I think Venom has a lot of potential as an anti-hero in his own movie. That said, if the writing is good then almost any character can be great and made interesting. But for selfish reasons I hope it is Venom that they decide to use. I think he is an interesting character with a lot of layers and he looks really cool also. A Venom/Carnage story has the potential to be great, although sadly Carnage will have to be toned down for kids.

I hate to admit it, but I agree. Spiderman has so many variables to get right:cmad:

We can't just remake the origin/goblin/venom story every few years. There are plenty of other villains and stories to choose from.

I don't want to see any of the villains from previous movies reappear in the next movie.

Let me rephrase what I said. They'll probably start off with some fresh faces Mysterio, Kraven, Hammerhead, Kingpin, Tombstone, Shcoker, Vulture, Scorpion, Spider-Slayer, the list goes on. All of these villains can keep film series going on fresh for awhile with new villains who never got to be in Live Action. But eventually after about 3 films they'll probably do the Symbiote down the line. I'm not saying do it right away(not that I'd have a problem with it) but what I am saying is do it atsome point be it the 4th, 6th, or 15th film. They're gonna do it at somepoint.

I completely understand that point of view. I am just being selfish. I just have a preference for darker stories and I think Venom/Carnage fit those types of stories better than most Spiderman villains.

I'd like to see Carnage, but only as a terrifying, murderous monster, and unfortunately we will never see anything like that, because there's too much money to be made from catering to children when it comes to Spider-man movies. Even footage of the goblin from TASM2 was cut out, because children in the test audience had nightmares.

If not for this problem, I'd actually be interested in seeing an adaption of Maximum Carnage, especially now that Spidey is in the MCU.

Maybe they can do a Carnage film that's brutal but release it differently. Like in October as an R Rated horror movie. Before you sa it won't make alot of money. It will because kids arn't the only people that like Spider-Man ya know.

It won't happen. Why make a movie that's only suitable for adults, when you can make a movie that adults can take their kids to see? Especially when the majority of fans are kids. You're basically choosing to make less money.

They won't even make an R rated Deadpool movie, and Deadpool is no where near as popular among children as Spider-man is.

A man can dream. Even if that dream will never happen.

Or they could take a leaf out of DCs book and make an animated film of it that is not targeted only at kids. Flashpoint, Assault on Arkham, Under the Red Hood, Son of Batman etc are very violent and certainly not the types of films that most adults would want their kids to be watching. It would be great if Marvel started making films like that.

I totally forgot animatedfilms existed for a second. That'd be great.

Hell yeah, where are all the animated marvel movies? Has there ever been an animated Spider-man movie?

"The Alien Costume" was one but really it was a few episodes of the animated series put together to make a movie. There may be others that I am not aware of. They really should start making them and have them targeted at older audiences like DC has. DC has been very successful in that regard and with the riches of characters in Marvels possession, there is no reason they should not be either. There would be plenty of stories to tell.

I would love to see a detailed analysis of the Marvel DTVs, talking about why they couldn't hit the sweet spot the way DC's did. Anybody know of something like that?

What would your thoughts be about a Man-spider storyline, just like in the animated series from the 90s? With Kraven the Hunter, Punisher and Morbius. Down the line, in Phase 4 or 5, Marvel might want to use Blade and vampire characters like that, so I could see it fitting.

That would be awesome!

Yea it would. I mean Christoph Waltz is my Doc Ock pick but I don't see him 100% happening so to speak. I mean maybe because he's such a fan favorite, I don't see it happening. I mean look at who people thought for Ultron and Thanos. No one thought of Spader or Brolin for them.

I love Seinfeld and I feel Jason Alexander no doubt could pull off Doc Ock in terms of him possibly showcasing his egotistic intelligent superiority.

Also my Bale for Norman pick comes off more so from America Psycho (yea I love the film).

Not just in the fact he's a business man but the one thing I thought would make him a perfect Norman when I rewatched it recently was the scene where they compare business cards and just how envious and upset he is over Paul Allen's card. I feel Norman would be like that to in a way where Norman builds himself off as this important man and just the smallest thing like let's say Stark Industries stock was .1 higher then Oscorp's stock for the day would piss Norman off. He cares about those little things.

Would Bale do it? Probably not due to the fact he's so method and I don't see him signing 10 years to do one role. Sure he did Batman but Begins wasn't guaranteed a sequel and it took 4 years to do Rises and 3 to do Knight plus he did The Fighter inbetween Knight and Rises. He wouldn't have so nice of a time frame to do other films like that of The Fighter (which if I remember, they said they would do a trilogy of the film) while doing MCU films.

It would be sweet if he was Norman/Green Goblin considering the fact Dafoe was in American Psycho and also Jared Leto was too and he's the Joker.

I do think Alexander would love and agree to do Doc Ock.

Jason Alexander would make for a rather short Doc Ock, but acting wise, he could bring a lot to the table. Be it George Costanza or Duck Man, Alexander has a proven range and comedic timing. Excellent choice.

I'd go for Martin Freeman as Doc Ock.
