Every Christmas season since like...the `80s...I see ads for Chia Pets on TV. And my question has always been the same, "who the [censored] buys this [censored]?" Do you actually know anyone who buys it?

They make great gag gifts or something you can give away at a White Elephant party.

jag

I had a chia something once. I never did get it to grow right.

The Tweety bird looks cute, but yeah gag gifts.

Odd, I just heard someone singing the Chia theme song at work yesterday.

Gag gifts or legitimate gifts from grandma.

We're selling these at my store where I work. Meh... not the kind of gift I'd want to have.

I know someone who bought one. My mom. It was the early '90s, I guess around the height of Chia Pets' popularity. She bought it as a gag gift for a co-worker whose last name was Chia.

I actually bought the Chia herb garden once... the friend I gave it to didn't use the seeds that were attached, but the little growing system was good for... other herbs

My dad gave me one as a gag once. It was the dinosaur, and the head broke off before I could grow anything :(

I would like to have the Homer Simpson one that came out a few years ago but that's about it.

I used to have one when I was 6....good times, good times.

Most likely old people...

Then again, I blame everything on old people, so who the hell knows?

Saw the commercials as a kid (they stopped airing them as I got older, thank God). So I bought one. It never grew properly, despite following instructions.

If I got one today, I'd give it back and say "I have enough paperweights."
