I think it was the later HS years, because his parents were in the meeting with the, I guess you can say, guidance counselor who told them about the dyslexia.

It was college.

129. Theo's Gift

First aired: 10/19/1989 Production Code: 0604
Theo studies for a mythology exam with Justine, and seems to have a complete mastery of the subject. He is disgusted when he only receives a C on the test. He cannot understand why he continues to do poorly, and is tired of working so hard for mediocre grades. He says that he just could not understand the test questions. Theo tells his parents that he even went to the learning center for testing to try to get a grasp on his problem. When Cliff tells him to concentrate harder, Theo accuses him of failing to be supportive. Cliff and Clair accompany Theo to the learning center. The woman running the center tells him that he may have a form of dyslexia. After the diagnosis is confirmed, she gives Theo some tips on organization and suggests that he take some classes on dealing with the syndrome. Theo and his parents are thrilled that there is a way to treat his problem. His grades begin to show a marked improvement, and Theo predicts that he will soon get A's.

Good Times was neva the same without James Evans.

The pilot ep of the Cosby Show is still my favorite next to Vanessa bring home her future husband.

Mr. Dummond from Different Strokes was a good father for Anrold and Wills.

George Papadopolis was a great father to Webster Long.

And last but not least....

Henry Warnimont...Punky's adoptive father.

My vote goes to Tim Taylor - Home Improvement... but that was because he reminded me of my dad.

How about Mr. Stratton from Silver Spoons? How cool was this guy?

It's pretty much a tie between Cliff Huxtable and Uncle Phil, I chose Cliff in the end though only because the guy cared more about taking care of his kids than going to work. Seriously when did Cliff work, he was always at home and he was a doctor to boot, a doctor that was never at the hospital.

I'd go with Uncle Phil or Carl Winslow, I don't why, but I just thought Carl was really cool.

For those who don't remember:

Yeah, Tim Taylor was a great dad. Its just that people always think of Tool Time and that overshadows everything else on the show.

lol. He went to work in every episode. Its just that we BARELY saw him there. Usually the episode would start with Cliff saying, "I just worked for 12 hours. I must have delivered the same baby five times." Clair is the one who never worked. Her being a lawyer was only brought up when it was part of the plot like when some mechanics over-charged Sondra.

Actually Bud asked her to get a job for his brother at the firm.

My vote goes to Stephen Douglas on My Three Sons. Fred MacMurray played the father role to perfection.

Others to consider:

Mr Cunningham (Happy Days)
George Lopez (he's climbing the ladder)
John Ritter (mainly for 8 Simple Rules)

There are many others that I can't think of. I know they'll come back to me.

I forgot about George Lopez, he made a pretty good TV dad.

I'd like to add Carl Winslow to my list.:o:up:

EDIT: Wolfwood beat me :csad:

Having watched a little Bonanza this arvo had me considering adding Ben Cartwright to the list. May as well add Lorne Greene's character of Adama on there too.

Can always add Edward James Olmos' Adama too. :D
