Who Watched The Oscars?

Seriously, celldog, did you really need to make this thread? Couldn't you have added it to the I don't know the other Academy Award Threads?

No see, hes going to make it so that the Academy is racist for not giving Eddie an Oscar, even though, by yesterday's awards, theyre not.

as much as i liked the departed i get the feeling it was given the oscars cause if martin scorsese was passed by on another film, people would have kicked up like hell

The Departed nailed it. Why she would give two flying ****s about anything else?

Honestly I couldn't even get past Ellen's monologue because I just found her extremely unfunny as usual. Stewart last year was way better. I left it on mute and everytime I saw the people winning, I'd lean over to see what the text said.

^ I agree. I didn't even smile once when she was comicing things up. My fiance thinks she's funny though so whatever.

^ i thought Chris Rock was last year?

I rarely bother to watch awards programs. I'll occassionally click to music awards programs during the commercials of the program I actually want to watch. Usually, if I'm curious enough, I'll read who won / lost in the next mornings paper.

I thought Ellen was funny. :[

That was 2005 I believe. I remember because that was the year he made the joke about Jude Law being in everything and Sean Penn took it seriously enough to comment. *lame*

Ellen's joke about America voting for Al Gore was pretty funny :D
Honestly I missed that because my tv was muted. I just find her unfunny in general. Do you know how pissed off I was at Epcot because she hosted one of the rides there? :down

Ellens vacuming was pretty funny as well.
I saw that as well, but the tv was muted. Her problem as well as most host's problems is they do their same shtick instead of adapting them to the Awards. But honestly, I think they all have big shoes to fill because Crystal seems to be the only one to be able to host it well.

Oh man, Crystal is like.. the ultimate host.

I'd just be pissed off that I spent money to go to the lamest of the Disney parks...Epcot.

It actually has some pretty good rides as of late.

And the best places to eat.

I just got tired of her "in your face" man-look. I mean...who doesn't know she's a lesbian????????? :cmad: She comes out in a suit and white sneakers looking as dude-ish as possible! Heck Ellen...why not put on a bow tie...don't stop there! :whatever:

You know what??? If she really wanted to get people talkin'....put on a evening gown or at least a more feminine looking pant suit.

Why should she conform to your archaic standards? Because in your bigoted opinion she looks too lesbian?

she always dresses like that. I don't think I have ever seen Ellen in a skirt or high heels.

Why do people always think that the way gay/lesbians dress/act are always because they want people to "know" they're gay?

Uh yeah...I just don't find her funny, regardless of her sexuality. Even when I saw her in that Fox Show back in 87 called Open House, I never found her funny.

It had nothing to do with her sexuality there. So you can put down your torch.

Based on Seinfeld's bit, I think we found the person who needs to host next year's.
