Simple.

Definitely a plot involving Sinister and Apocalypse, similar to a Silver Surfer/Galactus-style relationship.

Remember the X-Men animated series from the 90s? In season 1, Apocalypse was introduced by creating a 'cure' for mutants. Do something like that.

The movie will open up with Angel going in for the cure, after contemplating his actions in X3, or just the way he did in Season 1 of XM: TAS. Then reveal that this 'cure' is actually Apocalypse's way of turning mutants into his horsemen of Apocalypse, and thus we get Archangel. Have Sinister orchestrate in some way or rather...

Sounds confusing I know but meh. Thoughts?

Don't like it. Too soon for Archangel. We've not had enough of regular Angel yet. Also, we HAVE had enough of the cure story, don't like it being dragged on, yet another story with a serum that can change people - we had that in X2 and X3.

Sorry, but no. Don't like it. Also don't like Apocalypse in the very next movie, just after we've had Dark Phoenix (she was apocalyptic enough). Take it down a notch in the next movie, make it more subtle and moody, not big and flashy.

So what do you suggest?

I would like to see the introduction of Sinister, Gambit and the return of Scott.

In my mind the movie would open with a flash back of the Scott/Phoenix scene at the lake, where the Phoenix is starting to disintergrate Scott. The camera pans out and we a tesseracts opening and Sinister and Gambit stepping out and then both of them hitting the Phoenix with a energy blast while she is distracted. Well in Gambit's case a charged card. We then see Sinister motion to Gambit to retrieve Scott who has fallen to the ground unconscious and they disappear back through the tesseracts.

The scene then fades to present day where the X-Men are assembled discussing growing rumors of a scientist conducting life threatening genetic research on mutants.....and the movie proceeds from there.

Assuming you mean only new characters:

Heroes: Gambit and Bishop.

Gambit being wild card who associates with bad guys and the heroes. No one knows who's side he's on or what he's up to. Story-wise, he fills the role of "team badass" that Logan filled in the first three films.

Bishop appears as a cop who gets outed as a mutant and kicked off the force. Shortly after he arrives at the mansion, he begins to have strange premonitions and foresees someone betraying the X-men. He immediately suspects Gambit and the two establish an antagonistic rapport like Logan and Cyke had.

Villains: Hellfire Club and Sinister. Let's leave Apocalypse out of this:he wouldn't work in the more realistic tone of the films and he sucks regardless.

HF Club will appear as a bunch of rich people who seek to exploit mutants economically. They employ a lot of underhanded means to do so. Emma stays with them and doesn't reform or join the X-men.

Sinister turns out to be an eccentric scientist that everyone thought was working for the HF Club, but turns out to have been manipulating them to help his research the entire time. He is the ultimate badguy of the new trilogy.

Leave Scott, Jean, and Psylocke dead. They had their time and we already have a full cast of mutants without bringing back the dead. Keep Wolverine out of it or to a minimum, same with Storm.

I don't see your point about Apocalypse not working, but I agree with your last bit about putting less emphasis on Wolverine and Storm.

Hmmm...

If we're doing X4, then we need to bravely press into the wack messed up world left to us instead of trying to 'undo' X3... Scott, Xavier and Jean could all easily be alive, but lets pretend they're not.

So where are we? We've got Storm in charge, our new Xavier, even. Iceman, Shadowcat and Colossus as our X-Men. Hmmm. Sounds like room for Gambit and Bishop. And if so, sounds like room for Sinister with a buildup towards Apocalypse over a new trilogy. Let's let Magneto rest and take Sinister and make him something worth fearing, someone devious all on his own.

I'd press into the Sewers for X4, where the Morlocks stay, show us Sabertooth, Marrow and the massacre down there. We get a peek at Sinister basically harvesting mutants for their DNA... X-Men won't stand for that.

I'd actually bring the Sentinel program online for X5 as Sinister ramps up Apoc's ressurrection for X6. Bring in mutants like Havok and Polaris, Forge and Mimic, Banshee and Dazzler. Not all as X-MEn, but give them all parts to play in the saga.

i'd make genosha and mutant slavery the main plot and sinister as subplot setting up mutant massacre storyline for x-5
film them back to back on a epic scale and make them 2,5 hours long. tone should be more comic like and much more dark. preferably r-rating, although that will never happen.

So what do you suggest?

I'm writing an X4 right now. I will say that one thing that 'idea threads' like this prove is that you will never please everyone.

Could you re-state that, I didn't quite understand it.

Could you re-state that, I didn't quite understand it.

You asked what i suggested. I didn't tell you exactly what i think should be in an X4 but said i was working on an X4 story. But I don't think an X4 should just jump into Apocalypse. After the big events of X3, the next movie needs to tone it right down to begin with and get back to basics. Putting Apocalypse or any other massive villain (like Onslaught) right after Dark Phoenix is laying it on a bit thick, in my view.

I also said everyone has different ideas, so it's impossible to please everyone with movies or stories or fanfiction or whatever. You will always find some people don't like what is done. Comicbook fans are very hard to please. So whatever happens in any of the X-movies will not get universal approval. We can only hope the writers and director respect the material as much as possible.

My list in order:

Gambit
Emma
Sinister
Psylocke

Haven, I know...not the most memorable villain...I think I've posted it before but...She has the same goal as the X-Men...except...she wants to bring humans and mutants together through disasters that she'll cause...If I remember correctly.

Sinister w/o Apocalypse...but with Gambit as a henchman. I want to see the Mutant Massacre or Inferno...

I wanna see some of the New X-Men or even some of the Gen X'ers training at the school too...

But what would be done in terms of a smaller villain? I guess you could do Sinister w/o Apocalypse, but the real problem with that would be resurrecting Jean and Scott b/c it's those two Sinister are obsessed with.

What about...the Savage Land and Sauron?

These are the following I would like to see:

-Storm as headmistress and leader the X-men, but struggling with her new positions leading to the revelation of her origin.
-Wolverine has become very distant, the guilt over killing Jean is haunting him and he struggles to keep his ties with the X-men.
-Bobby and Rogue is at's peak, Bobby is more free-spirited and comedic, and Rogue is at her happiest, but struggling with her indifference with her former fellow mutants.
-Colossus becomes the new art teacher, Kitty shows a slight attraction toward Colossus at the revelation of his talent, and Angel has become the offical team scout for the X-men.
-Jubilee develops of obssession of being Wolverine's sidekick.
-Gambit's introduction is in the opening sequence as he frames Beast, causing the nation to believe the mutant was using his role in the white house as a conspiracy against all humans.
-When X-men fail to defend him, Beast is fired from his position and new registration acts are issued, banning mutants from office, etc. But the worse one being the beginning stages of the Sentinals.
-7 months or so past, Sentinals are now common in society and capture or killing mutants, causing many mutants to flee in terror and hide.
-Storm has been training the team constitantly in prepartion of a possible confrontation with the Sentinals.
-Cyclops is revealed, and wakes up in some underground lab of sorts. A mysterious voice offers him a chance to lead his army, but Cyclops while still shock, declines the voices offer. Cyclops instincts kick in and he sneaks and fights his way out of the facility.
-Beast has become a teacher at the school, and is the school's offical doctor/scientist.
-Rogue while walking the streets of New York, is caught in the crossfire between a Sentinal and a blond female mutant. Both woman are hurt badly, Gambit sees this sight and gets both women to saftey.
-The rest of the X-men travel to Europe to help Nightcrawler and few rebel mutants who helping mutants against get to safety from the Sentinels. Scarlet Wicth and Quicksilver are some of the rebel mutants the X-men meet and Colossus reunites with his little sister.
-Back in New York, Rogue wakes up in sewers of the Morlocks. Healer performs a blood transfusion on Rogue when the blonde mutant dies from her wounds. Rogue thanks the Morlocks for their hospitality as well as Gambit, who she begins to get close, too.
-When Rogue brings Gambit to the mansion, the X-men return with Nightcrawler. Rogue introduces Gambit, but Bobby and Wolverine are rude toward him.
-Cyclops finally makes his way back to the manor and the team is overwhemled by his sudden return.
-Gambit is revealed as the mutant who framed Beast, the X-men throw him out.
-After finding out about helping rebel mutants, Bolivar sends a dozen Sentinals to attack the X-mansion. Gambit returns to warn the X-men as the Sentinals begin to attack the school.
-All the X-men find refuge with the Morlocks, but Storm's appearnace makes matters worse when the queen of the Morlcks, Marrow, finds out she killed their last queen.
-Storm is put under trial by the Morlocks, which leads to her to a match between her and Marrow for her freedom.
-Rogue confronts Healer after she begins showing signs of super strength and flight after her operation.
-In the Main Sentinal Factory, Bolivar Trask plans to issue a new issue of Sentinals, but his assistant Bastion feels he is being inhuman by what his doing. Bastion ultimately reveals himself as mutant, and kills Trask in the process and takes control of every Sentinals to capture humans as well as mutants.
-Wolverine goes on a solo mission in which Jubilee tags along. Wolverine finds out the news about the new attacks that Sentinals have been doing.
-Cyclops struggles to get use to surrounds and thinks that he is useless.
-When Wolverine returns with his news and Storm is freed, the X-men travel to the Sential Factory to stop the Sentinals for good. Leaving Cyclops and Rogue behind.
-When the X-men arrive, they are trapped by Bastion as endless amout of Sentinals appear.
-Cyclops and Rogue realize they can't leave the team behind and join the X-men to help them in battle.
-Mastermold is unleashed on the time, before the team combine forces to destroy it and capture Bastion.

That's a lot, but one can dream!!:woot:

Sentinels at this point is stupid... the government has accepted mutants to fill in even some positions... no need for Sentinels... yet... Sinister and Cyke is all I want to see... along with Gambit... could care less about Emma... everyone from X3 back minus Logan... not too much to ask for IMO

I'd like Sentinels and think could be introduced, but gradually. In X4 can happen so many thing that push Trask to use them, not with president permission necesary.

One thing that *must* not happen, IMO is a romance with Gambit and Rogue. It would just drag down Gambit's character by trapping him in an idiotic love-triangle thats pretty much identical to the one between Logan, Jean, and Cyclops. It's bad enough that apparently no one in the comics can write him as an individual, I don't need it in the films too. I'd much rather have him get some screentime that focuses on *him* and him alone.

I don't think the sentinels are stupid at this point, well this is my take on what should happen if they're to be used...

Major Point/Highlights:
-Steven Lang meets with the Asian government to green-light his sentinel project, but they revoke it as it is too expensive, thus Lang seeks out sponsors
-Newly elected Senator Graydon Creed, a rich and bitter man who was abandoned by his mutant parents feeling betrayel and becoming bitter, he promises to make all mutants pay
-Creed makes his way to Alkalai lake to find any information, that will lead him to his father. With the aid of his team of special agents, they make their way into the submerged base, where he finds a few of stryker's old files, amongst these files are the cerebro layouts. He discoveres that not only can it detect all mutants in the world, but that it stores detailed bios on their abilities and weaknesses; these files are known as The Xavier Protocols
-Creed is contacted by Steven Lang, after hearing him out, Creed tells him that he will fund his project, but they'll be manufactured in the US, Lang agrees
-Creed speaks with the government, using Magneto's mini-war as ammo to pass an act allowing the sentinels to go into max production, at first the president is reluctant, but when the nation, who are still in fear hears of Creeds proposal they are all for it, and this pressures the president to sign this act, stating that sentinels can only police mutants who pose a threat: dubbing this process Operation Zero Tolerance
-It is announced the next day that the sentinels launch will be televised
-Mutants flee under the lead of Masque into the sewers, forming the Morlocks
-That night Creed sends a specialized fleet of sentinels to the Xavier mansion to collect the Xavier Protocols, destroying the mansion in the process
-The X-Men regroup, and must find where these sentinels came from and recover the protocols before it is too late
-They regroup in the Morlocks, where the learn that Morlock rebels are going to raid the factory
-They venture to the factory before the televised launch, to retrieve the protocols, and stop the rebels as a mutant raid would only worsen the situation. They're too late as the rebels set off the alarms and Creed radios for the sentinels to be launched immediately
-The X-Men battle the Sentinels and in the process the factory is blown up as they escape Rogue chooses to leave with Morlocks
-They also exploit Creed's plans nullifying Operation Zero Tolerance

Possible Side Stories?:
-The Hellfire club pulls some strings to freeze Xavier's account, thus the government will reposses the school if Storm doesn't find the money for it soon. The Hellfire club offer to fund the school, although Storm is reluctant, she signs the deeds over to them, Emma Frost is instated as overseer
-Logan is haunted by what he did to Jean, Emma comforts him, and unbeknownst to him she is secretly manipulatiing him, seeming more like Jean to get his attention
-Rogue's powers return and she flees into the Morlocks, where she meets Gambit

The Happy Ending:
The Professor returns, and revelas that he'd been alive for a while, Storm confronts him, but he tells her that he needed to be gone for them to grow--needs to be worded correctly, so it's not as cheesy though. As he's not dead he gets back all his money and buys back the mansion

sentinels if sinister and Apocalypse are in charge of them.

introduce gammbit, more rogue

and let magneto have a badass comeback.

First of all, I say go with the Sentinel storyline.

Introduce Gambit as one of the main characters, set the foundations for a Rogue/Gambit relationship in X5.

Introduce Scarlet Witch/Quicksilver with high character development for Scarlet and low (but some) for Quicksilver, have them reluctantly join the brotherhood, and have Scarlet deal with Pyro's romantic interest in her.

Bring Kurt back with medium/low character development. Say he left 'cause he didn't like the violent lifestyle. Reveal in X5 that he took the cure while he was away (read my "future of the cure" thread to see how it would be revealed).

Add Avalanche and Tempo to the Brotherhood for filler, very little character development.

From the old cast, I want to see:

Rogue - Took the cure; Bobby breaks up with her; she gets pregnant while away but loses the baby and kills her boyfriend when her powers come back; has mixed emotions toward Bobby that dissolves as she builds a flirtation with Gambit; gains the ability to absorb memories; becomes a lot more assertive with her powers.
CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT: Very High

Bobby - Breaks up with Rogue and quickly gets together with Kitty; still has feelings for Rogue when she comes back; has a bit of an attitude as a result of the judgment he and Kitty faced from the other mutants.
CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT: High

Kitty - Is a bit of a spoiled brat; she and Bobby are quickly on the rocks after Rogue comes back.
CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT: Medium

Colossus - Very little character development for him, but he's on the team.
CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT: Very Low

Warren - Develops a bond with Kurt; reveals that he was raised a Christian, but has questioned his faith since the rejection he's faced - primarily from his father - since his mutant abilities emerged; takes on the name "Angel" after a comment Kurt makes about his appearance.
CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT: Low

Storm - Has taken over the school; grows increasingly frazzled as the Sentinel dilemma and the fact that the school is understaffed takes a toll on her; develops a sort of love-hate relationship with Logan.
CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT: High

Logan - Reluctantly takes on the role of a teacher - primarily in self-defense courses - at the school (actually, more like Storm drags him kicking and screaming into the role); tension as well as a growing mutual respect between him and Gambit; love-hate relationship with Storm, still very close with Rogue; finds out a little more about his past.
CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT: High

Hank - Fired from the UN as the heat against mutants grows from the Pheonix saga and the failure of the cure; rejoins the X-Men and becomes their doctor as well as one of the senior members of the team; still close with Storm.
CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT: Medium

Magneto - Recovers from the cure; saves Scarlet/Quicksilver from a mob and recruits them; uses whatever physical and psychological means necessary to keep them in the Brotherhood; set up for the discovery in a later movie that he is Scarlet/Quicksilver's father.
CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT: High

Mystique - While depowered, works as a secret agent for the Brotherhood; takes a job as a Senator's secretary to get inside info; is the first to discover the Sentinels; kills the Senator she works for upon regaining her powers; rejoins the Brotherhood as an active member; hints are dropped (but never confirmed) that she may have been in a relationship with Magneto in the past.
CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT: Medium

Pyro - Took over the Brotherhood while Magneto was gone, but happily relinquishes the role to Magneto upon his return; develops serious but unreciprocated feelings for Scarlet.
CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT: Very High

Callisto - Very little character development, but she's still on the team.
CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT: Very Low

Multiple Man - No character development; just keep him on the team for extra bodies.
CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT: Very Low

Very well done. You obviously put a lot of effort into it.

Uh high? Um...Nooo. Wolverines' story is over.

Wolverine in another esemble is a bad idea... he got his own solos to explain his past.... get rid of him already... the core should be Storm, Beast, Cyclops (Should be back), and maybe Emma should be the primary teachers of the school.... if they can't bring back Cyclops its understandable... can't keep ressurecting everyone....

Everyone from TLS left alive should have bigger roles (no more magneto though)... throw in Gambit and Havoc. Then we'll be set

I want to see more of Colossus, Nightcrawler, and bring in Banshee. They're major members, so I think it's high time they got some mucho screen time.

As well, more of Beast, Angel, & Iceman...founding members, it goes without saying they should get more screen time. And I don't mean screentime as in have them make cameos...let their characters develop and make them part of the story.
