Those are some pretty steep requirments. I wonder how good my CPU will do in Crysis benchmarks because it's a single core Athlon FX-57. Here's hoping any shortcomings on part of the processor will easily be compensated with the extra 7800 GTX I've got in my rig.

Either way, my little brother will be taking my PC when Vista is released and I will be getting a new one with DX10 compatible cards and one of AMD or Intel's spunkier new dual core processors.

hah! and people complain about paying too much for a PS3.

If you're talking about me, I've got more than enough balance in my bank account to get a PS3 from EBAY of all places, come launch week provided that it has a good lineup of games of course. But then again, not everyone is so financially well-off.

no, phaser, i wasn't really talking to anyone in general.

i was just thinking how funny it is that people complain about buying a $500-$600 console, that (whether or not people will admit it) is going to have alot of great games, sooner or later,

and then these same people don't see a problem in spending hundreds of dollars to upgrade their computers to play 2 or 3 games, then have to turn around and upgrade it again when the next big engine comes out.

it's like watching a monkey try to hump a football.

One thing I assure you is that the ones who are not willing to pay 500-600 bucks for a PS3 are definitely not the ones who upgrade their PCs on a regular basis.

I think i'm gonna miss this one.
If I get, I'm gonna get it on the Xbox360, but I have to get one of those as well.

As Phaser said, most people who aren't willing to shell out the $$ aren't the ones who are willing to upgrade their computers whenever they feel like it.. and.. more to the point:

A PC has more longevity and is much more valuable than any console will ever be. This is why people are willing upgrade their computers but not pay out the ass for something as silly as a console that will be replaced in 4-5 years. Most people don't replace their computers every 4-5 years if they can keep it upgraded regularly.

Hey, don't bag on Ridge Racer.

If it weren't for Kaz, nobody would really care. :p

I hope by the time it's released I have a job, so I'll have enough money to buy a computer and upgrade it to play this sweet-ass game.

Hey, if you could not turn everything into a cry-baby PS3 thread that would be great.

Fact of the matter is, there is no graphics card, CPU or GPU out there that at it's least goes for $600.

And even if there were, Crysis has visuals and functionality far, FAR beyond those of Resistance and my bottom dollar says Killzone 2 too.

Dude, it's pretty much assured that most FPS games coming out this gen are going to crush KZ2. Look what Halo, and Halo 2 did to Killzone. Totally hyped up until release and then the hype fell off faster than a 70 yr old's hair. :(

I'm guessing the same's going to happen with GoW, H3, and most of the other FPSes releasing around that time.

And either is Crysis, but it's already destroying Resistance and Killzone 2 combined.

It will upon release as well, mark my words.
