Watch the clip and listen and see Craig say:

"Well I wouldn't be any good at my job if it did."

Is that well-acted? Is it said with confidence, or charm or anything remotely Bond-like?

Nope. How can someone so poor at acting like Bond rival Sean Connery? It's impossible. Just look at Craig acting that line. It's poor - Craig has zero confidence, charm, his delivery is leaden. People call me a troll but look at the evidence. Is that the sort of acting you expect to see from a Bond actor? If it's not then you have to question all these reviews that say "Craig is the best Bond ever, the second best to Connery etc."

Just watch and listen to Craig say that line. Is that James Bond or just Daniel Craig speaking with zero conviction? It's the latter. Call me a troll but I'm just telling it how I see it. And I see a terribly miscast actor playing James Bond.

That line is not only badly acted - Craig is clearly failing to open his mouth to deliver the line - the glass covering his mouth makes it look and sound worse.

Craig clearly has no Bond confidence - he admitted the criticism got to him during the early weeks of shooting. And it seems to be evident in these tv spots. Now people say, "Craig is amazing" but if he's so amazing why is that line delivered in such a poor, flat, totally non-Bond way? Why does Craig say "well I understand 00s have a very short life expectancy " in the same drab manner?

Something doesn't add up. If Craig is so amazing, why have Eon and Sony put badly acted lines in the trailer and tv spots? Where is the proof Craig is so amazing? I can't see it in the trailers and tv spots. Where's his Bond confidence? I see none of it. Okay, they're just tiny snippets but they're meant to sell the film to the public. I don't think they work. I''m not sold on Craig so Sony and Eon have failed one Bond fan - me.

If Craig is so great then I suggest Sony Pictures release some actual clips - 30 seconds or so in length - and let's see Craig *acting*. Let's hear his delivery, how he reacts. I'n not believing one word of any review, nor one word from any fan that's gone to a preview screening because as annoying a person as I can be here, I trust my eyes and ears. Craig looks and sounds uncomfortable - the delivery seems dour and monotone - that is my evidence - my proof.

And unless I see some actual clips or break my promise and pay to see Casino Royale, I'm not taking any other person's word that "Craig is the best Bond since Connery." Connery would have said the CR trailer lines with genuine charm or confidence - Craig doesn't and I fail to see how this man is worthy to play the most iconic movie hero of the 20th century.

its not poor acting..its cold.. and a bit of sick humor at the same time.

I don't see it as cold acting - I see it as poor acting. It seems stilted, flat. And seeing as Bond is in a resaurant with Vesper Lynd - don't you think he might be a little more charming?

I don't believe the British press reviews are all genuine - I really don't. Sony and Eon have too much at stake to have bad reviews leaking out, but the audience won't be fooled. They'll see Craig's poor excuse for Bond acting and the box office will tell its own story.

We deserve so much better than Craig. That's the sad thing about Craig as Bond. We're getting a poor Bond - at best he's average, at worst he's plain dismal. His acting in the trailers/tv spots don't convince me he's remotely Bondian. I don't see Bond as dour as that. True, he's a secret agent with a licence to kill but he has some life to him - he's not drab the way Craig's delivery is.

thats the idea..its cold and its flat..it doesn't bother him..well maybe a little..but he is hiding that from vesper...he doesn't want her to see that.

Oh right, so everytime Craig is bad at acting, people say "he's meant to be cold and flat."

Right. :whatever: :whatever: :whatever: :whatever: :whatever:

but its not bad acting..

jesus, you didn't understand what i ment did you?

All the reviews i've read are saying Craig is fantastic as Bond, best since Connery....so bye bye Super_Fan, go home with your tail between your legs. :woot:

I like that line, I have it on my sig.

LMAO.

I simply can't believe you're condemning Craig on the strength of one line used in the trailer.

One line. Which may not even be in the movie.

Ridiculous.

I think it's a great delivery of a great reply to Vesper's question. Cool and badass.

I don't see Craig as Bond but you should wait until you see the movie before you make a definitive judgement.

When I heard news that the guy from Mrs Doubtfire would be playing the next Bond, I shuddered. However, I remember being in Circuit City and seeing the Goldeneye trailer and there was this one look Brosnan gave when he was trying to get into the plane in the opening of the movie which sold me completely. Haven't seen that from Craig yet but I haven't ruled out the possibility it could still happen.

superfan, you are just a disgruntled loser. Just like those other morons on cnb.com.
Listen to yourself, look at the argument your trying and subsequently failing to make. Oh and incase this completely slipped your memory, this film is about Bond becomming the Bond we are all more familiar with. Throughout the movie he makes mistakes, he even cries, he's not as smooth he's very rough, he's a loose cannon BUT he learns, he acquires the traits that we are used to seing him display. You act like Bond dropped out of his mother's womb all slick, smooth and charming when in fact he was like everyone else, pooped all over the place. Speaking of poop, enough with your one man crusade against Craig over the most rediculous things, it makes you look more stupid than you are. If you are going to criticise make sense and be constructive about it.

thats my fav line........ and yes it was very VERY well acted

btw-yes....you ARE a troll

He is not a troll..in this case he is making an opinion on a line he didn't like.

Super Fan, you were banned from M16 for making these foolish threads as though anyone really cares about your silly campaign to remove him, he's still Bond and you're all washed up. :oldrazz:

Why don't you just go see the movie before giving your opinion on Craig instead of basing it off of one line...

The point here is not whether Craig is a good Bond or not. The point is that it's ludicrous to judge any performance on ONE LINE. That embodies the very worst aspects of fanboyism.

Oh yes! Perhaps one of the biggest trolls. Which is why he was banned from MI6 yesterday and all his "spam" threads are being deleted by the admins on IMDB(there must be something going on if the "admins" at IMDb are stepping in!). He was going frantic when all the positive reviewes started breaking going as far as to say they are all fake and it's impossible that Craig could be good cause don't you know, according to Super fan/netgeek/moomoo/craig's agent and whatever else he has called himself, Craig is miscast!:whatever:

It seems SHH! is the only place he can get away with this now but he's being a little subdued . I guess reality is very painful for him!:woot:

Super fan, just realize the fact. We're probably never going to change your mind and you'll never change ours. Heck, you might even keep your hate for Craig and still complain of it to deaf ears until the day you die.

" Oh right, so everytime Craig is bad at acting, people say "he's meant to be cold and flat." "

Maybe when he is "bad at acting" he really is meant to sound cold. Would you rather he jump around like Richard Simmons and say "My job is SUPER!! It doesn't bug me killing them people because I'm just an actor who happens to be a chick magnet!" ?
If Ian Flemming really intended his character to be different, he would have written him different. And if people weren't complaining about the wrong direction into the outlandish that the series had gone, you could have a hunk, that you super fan probably want to date, back in the role driving his invisible cars and fixing the tie on his suit while he is steering a boat underneath the water, just before he drives the boat on land evades chasing police cars through the streets of London, through a restaurant and falls from a hot air balloon, escaping with a bruise on the shoulder. But wait, he also is a skilled astronaut and survived a laser battle in space too!
Me, on the other hand, prefer a more realistic Bond. One that sort of lives in the same world we do.
Not every real life government agent has their own month in a chick calendar. Live with it

One more question super fan. If the "godfather" of all James Bonds, Sean Connery endorses Craig, does that now hurt your feelings toward Connery? Wait, Connery, Moore, Dalton AND Brosnan all of said Craig is WELL-suited for the roll. All of the prior official Bonds, except for Lazenby who has stayed out of it, support the guy. That doesn't affect your "proof"s? Be a man, watch the movie and judge it from that. Not a handful of one-liners.

I think you are seeing what you want to see.
He spoke the line perfect...just like a harden warrior would do. He was DEADLY serious. He wasn't trying to be charming, he wasn't trying to be witty or funny or "cute". He was stone. cold. serious. And that's exactly how he should have been.
