One of the key moments leading up to the deployment of the Mark X sentinel was apparently the capturing of the X-Mansion by Trask Industries. According to the website, they obtained it, using Mark 1 sentinels and by considerable force, and converted it into a research lab.
Obviously the infamous Rogue scene would have seen the X-Men return to the mansion and find her there, and this is presumably where the Mark X was originally deployed from.
But what leads to TI assaulting the mansion? Presumably post-X3, the mansion continues as Xavier's School, so the sentinels would have had to have actually attacked it, like the image shows. And if that happened, why did it take until 2015 for Magneto and Xavier to mount a response?
And overall, why even bother attacking the mansion???
