Why Do Companies Always Stop Publishing 2nd Volume Trades?

I don't understand it. I noticed it when I was putting in an order for some books and I couldn't find a copy of Cable and Deadpool VOlume 2 and Nightwing volume 2 for under $50. I could see them stop publishing later volumes do to sales but the 2nd volume in a series? That's just being stupid.
