 i dont get it.......

more than half this country wants our troops back........

but why?..........to help louisiana???? what purpose will they have here?

or is it just 10million worried mothers and families?...

isnt that a bit selfish if you think about it?

There's a belief that a lot of the insurgency isn't just religion driven, but also driven by the occupation by America. Hence the logic of remove the troops.

Also, a lot of people just think it's a never ending quagmire, and a waste of our troops lives.

Also, with the troops stationed in Iraq and Afghanistan, it would be harder to fight a war on another front... say, Iran, North Korea, etc.

Well, there is little point to have even gone to Iraq. Correct me If I am wrong, but we never did find WMD there.

that doesnt sound like a reasonable excuse...... i mean we should try right?

letting the world go to hell isnt really a great thing either

I'm getting the feeling you don't really "get" politics.

i dont "get" people either......

i still have yet to hear why they MUST come back......

Because they have a much greater chance of being killed in a warzone than on a american soil sipping mountain dew or whatever the **** you people drink.

you people?.........lol

so thats it?.... im telling you... its just those worried mothers.

I've given you three major justifications for the beliefs of the people who want to bring back the troops. You non-sensically waved them off. What more do you want?

This is the way I see it.

The troops shouldn't have went there in the first place. But if they pull out now, things in Iraq qould descend pretty damn quicly. It's a tricky situation.

I just hate it. What did people think before the Iraq war? Seriously. Did they think the troops would be there for a few years and everything would be fine?

I hate how short sighted the American public was. Incredibly unrealistic.

It's not just worried mothers. It's also people who generally worry about the welfare of other people. Since removing Saddam Hussein, Iraq has fallen into a Civil War, and our troops are being killed because they're stuck in the middle of it. A recent report (I forget where I heard of it, but I want to say either CNN or ABC World News) actually claimed that the War on Terrorism has created a new generation of Anti-American jihadists in the Middle East. All this leads to the senseless deaths of Americans. Afterall, it is harder for Middle Easterners to kill Americans in America than in the Middle East.

a waste of troops lives?......

what will happen if they just leave?..... think about the consequences.
and besides... some troops ARE leaving(and more are going in)

And what good is that doing us? Instead of killing Troop A, they kill Troop B? A life is a life, and we shouldn't be sending anyone to die in this lost war.

What small steps? July and August saw the worst months for civilian casualties since the war began. Over those 60 days, more than 100 people died per day. I think the exact number was 6,599 Iraqis. That's step alright, a step in the wrong direction.

Maybe people dont want their boys to be killed everyday. Crazy, I know.

What needs to happen is that the politicians need to sit down and figure out how to stop the Iraqis killing each other.

Maybe they could split Iraq in two? I don't know. But there must be something they can sort out.

Until they figure out a good plan, I think the troops should stay.

Pulling the troops out will only make things worse.

I've thought about that before, and the best plan to seperate Iraq would be three countries. One for the Kurds,Sunnis and Shiites, respectively. That is the cause of most of this fighting, its the different religious cults fighting against each other and us.
