Why do you collect action figures?

Why do you collect them?

I think I do just because they look really cool and for some reason are just fun to collect. I don't play with them though lol.

Honestly? I have no idea. All I know is I can't stop! Although I have managed to cut down on the amount of figures I do pick up.

One reason why I think I collect action figures, is because, for me anyway, they're like mini statues that you can pose & display in any way you wish. You can even display many figures together & make an action scene diarama. As most people on here do. You're free to do whatever you want with them & you're not restricted to just the one pose like full size statues, for example.
Even figures will a low number ow POA have some sort of range of possablity to them.

Just my 2 cents worth anyway...

For many reasons... I just like posing them, but I absolutely HATE when other people touch my figs... It's because they seem to put them in akward poses and by that I mean adult oriented...

I don't pose them in any certain way. I just stand them up.

Besides my Ultimate Lizard, his arms are in a cool pose.

hmmm well i started with spidey figs during the animated series.. and been hooked sense... ive always been big on displaying them though... and that if find addicting.. because i think if you can turn something simple like an action figure into somethin where people actually say "wow" kinda stunning, and i like that

I've been into them since....I think batman returns :x but the first BIG thing i started collecting was jurassic park... man do I love me some jurassic park after that i collected a few random Spider-man TAS figs.. Until the Spider-man classics figures came around in oh I dunno... 2001-02??? maybe not sure.. I saw mcfarlane spidey and black suit spidey and man was i excited.. that collection grew bigger with the Marvel legends line... until i stopped collecting around mind 2005.. I dont know why.. I think I was really busy with school/work... being drunk all the time. but I sobered up fast and I still wasnt collecting.. I bought some random SW:Unleashed figures here and there... and then I joined the HYpe... and STarting collecting DCD's.. before long.. I had spent about a thousand dollars catching up on my Legends collection.... <-- my fig collecting life story right there

Did the first ones come in packages like Marvel Legends do? If so, I got the Spider-Man with the Amazing Fantasy #15 issue. I think that was in 2001.

Always enjoyed figures... this was just a progression into a more adult way of collecting. I mean its like anything you collect and display, its mainly for looks and apprecation of a certain character or moment. I mean we've all had great memories of characters, and I think thats why I collect them; to perserve those memories. Each time I look at them, I remember a great scene in a comic or movie. Thats why I collect.

Yeah.. The first two waves of spider-man figures came in clamshells.

Wave 2: Battle Ravaged Spidey,Rhino,Daredevil,Classic Spidey
and then from this.. The much more successful Marvel Legends Spinoff series

i started collecting because i figured instead of throwing my money away on video games, i'd just do it on plastic. real reason, mommy and daddy bought my love with action figures when i was a kid. they kinda raised me to collect them by getting me every character from just about every line of stuff.

Its step number 7 of my 22 part plan to take over the world.

Just so you all know, step 17 is when I invade the earth with my giant lizard army. It should be a couple years til I get to that step though, so you have plenty of time to prepare.
