Why did Logan kill Jean when they could have used some of the multiple hyperdermics full of "cure" that they used on Magneto...???

That would have required thought. I was thinking the same thing when I saw the movie.

I don't think the cure would of fixed Jean's mind.

My mom asked that very same thing. lol.

Its pretty sad when some dudes mom happpens to be watching and she catches onto something that the handlers of a 200 million dollar film didnt pick up on.

She could be a smart mom:confused:

I think they got lucky even finding the ones that they used on Magneto - Arclight pretty much destroyed them all, didn't she? And there was so much destruction going on before Logan figures out what he has to do, he probably couldn't find one at that point.

No, there were PLENTY of cure darts left over even after Magneto was cured.

What's sad is not the plot hole (it doesn't even exist). It's that some fans that think they found another hole in the film when clearly the writers anticipated it and covered it onscreen. Did you all not see the what, HUNDREDS of cure needles that the second wave of soldiers fired that Dark Phoenix just STOPPED in mid-air? She wasn't even facing that direction. Beast and Wolverine snuck up on Magneto, but good luck sneaking up on Phoenix. Does she strike you as the type to be easily distracted?

The needles would have been destroyed in her aura of destruction. It destroyed Wolvie's shirt and skin...what do you think it would do to some plastic needles?

Suger coat it all you want, it is still a plothole.

It would have kept her alive for a redemption part in the next movie.

Well, because it makes Scott's death more acceptable - but had Cyke lived, then Jean should have been stopped - not killed... she wasn't killed. We all know that. If she wasn't killed by a massive rush of water, she won't be killed by little claws... she'll be back. Ugh, she'll be back. I like the Phoenix and everything, but for movie's sake, it'll be ridiculous to bring her back again. But its the only way to completer her damned arc.

i thought she wanted to die coz of scott's and the prof's death- it's gonna be tough dealing with her own conscience after killing those two and hundreds of humans.

i also think it shows logan's actual sacrifice- without scott, he could have her for himself (assuming she likes him too). but he did for her. :O

No...she would have been instated into a looney bin for having multiple personalities...especially one that likes to kill, have sex, and cry.

the needles would have been unaffected by her powers if wolvie had swallowed them...he could have crapped them out and...Ive clearly jumped the shark

Oh my, I've gone crosseyed. Although, now that I think about it... Wolverine drinks the cure, and kisses Jean. Hmm.

I dont think the "cure dart" would have gotten anywhere near her even if wolverine was holding it.

Agreed Bamfer. That's why they should have not killed her. Would have made the useless reset that is coming unneeded.

But it didn't destroy his claws... but of course, admantium is supposed to be indestructible...

Why Not "Cure"/Save Jean?

dont worry the movie did a lot of things that will forever leave us stumped

you just answered it yourself

see you weren't the only one who thought that... SOOOO they did a twist HER DEATH!

What do you think is harder to destroy...adamantium, or plastic needles???

yeah, when Wolverine's flesh is burning off of his body as he walks toward her, I'm thinking that the "cure" would have vaporized due to the heat Phoenix was giving off.

But there is a little thing we cinema lovers like to call "suspension of disbelief" that we should all adhere too. I mean, what's a more powerful ending, Wolvering taking out Phoenix, or simply "curing" her?

Do you people read posts in threads or do you just post at random?

The concept of "curing Jean" was explored. Why it failed was, too.
