Simple. He just realized that his villain is just a filler and is underutilized. But, that's how the cards fell. We needed to wrap up Harry's arc, and I mean, come on, it's Venom.

I feel almost sorry. Sandman has the potential to be visually awesome (and he will be), but let's face it, he's having the movie stolen from beneath his feet.

After all, the first villain revealed WAS Sandman.

Well, if he was upset at being upstaged by Venom, why does he not look in Topher's direction? Methinks he's mentally undressing Rosmary Harris and Kirsten Dunst. Then he sees what Kirsten looks like.

Seriously, if Mr. Church can't control his anger so as not to make it evident, he should be somewhat ashamed. I'm sure Sam wasn't too thrilled about Venom being in the movie, but look'slike he's not displaying his animosity at the big events.

Not to knock his acting. The clips from the subway seen were great, and Mr. Church's facial expressions told you what he was thinking better then even he could've.

I reckon it was because he was told to look mean by the photographers as he is playing the villian of the piece. If you look at Topher he looks more sadistic fitting in with Brock/Venom.
