The Dark Knight Why So Serious Pumpkin -- ON TOPIC Discussion - DON'T MAKE ANY MORE!

i think they are going to send us street team materials. posters, stickers, flyers and stuff to jokerize your hometown =D

Also, just as a note i've confused the living hell out of everyone on my facebook by jokerizing all of their profile pictures and leaving clues within the description as to what might be happening friday night :joker:

Welcome to the hype!

I can see your point.
It's a great marketing tool to keep people buzzing for the flick.
I see no real harm in it. People seem to be enjoying the interaction with the marketing.

If no one decided to post pics or solve puzzles etc
I can guarantee the studios would have released that picture anyway.

To Lunar and the new guy:

I said this earlier, this is also a way for the company to ****e us out, even more.

If they know we will work to get a picture, trailer, etc, then they know we will buy all the Batman merchandise we can get our hands on, when the movie is release.

Do I like it? No. But, hey, did you see that new nacho add for Taco Bell?

It's funny reading all the complaints, just relax guys and don't take this so seriously :woot:

Hey all, I'm a long time reader, never really posted, so here I go.

First, I'm not a hater, I'm a massive bat-fan, and am extremely excited for TDK. Nolan is my God, etc.

However, my beef is with WB marketing. Up till now it has been extremely cool, but the amount of work required to get that one, albeit sweet, picture, was pretty unprecedented. Then there is this photo thing.

Does anybody else realize that they are using us to publicize the film for them? All they had to do was make a website, and now groups of people dressed as the Joker are going to be all over the nations landmarks? And only the winner gets anything? Free publicity for the film, and many of the fans are getting nothing in return.

Again, I'm not directing this toward the filmakers, and I'm still as pumped as ever for the movie, but the marketing department really screwed the pooch with this one. Using the fans? They could have at least been honest about it and said "Dress up like the Joker and advertise the freakin movie" or something, but they are using people with the promise of... well... potentially another picture:csad: Anybody agree with me?

Grass roots marketing is my bread and butter! Get in touch with your customers and get them to promote you out of their sheer passion for your product. It's the cheapest and maybe the most effective.

Granted, people are enjoying it, and I personally didn't have to hunt for any of the letters. (I would have, except I'm Canadian... Damnit, when are you guys gonna invade already?) But for those who did take the time and gas money to find the letters, a single picture is just disappointing, I think. I don't know, maybe I'm just bitter cause I'm a Bat-fan and my Marvel/Iron Man fan friends have a trailer already. I just hope come november 17th there is something I can enjoy or take part in as well!

Things could be worse, Robin Williams could have been the Joker.

i agree holeshot. and besides adio, no one said this one was a contest with a winner. that's just a blind assumption

Did I miss something? Has anything changed since the RDK site went up?

If you're not having fun don't do it, right? Doing these fruitless viral puzzles is to hold you over until the film comes out. If Nolan had it his way there'd be nothing until the movie, he said so him self at Wizard World Chicago before they showed the trailer.

Hey guys! I live in the Washington DC area. Let me know if anyone is getting a group together to take pics in front of the Capital or White House! My email is:

I didn't even look for any letters!
I couldn't be bothered with it.
I'm very patient when it comes to trailers, pictures etc
I send a pic because that was fun.
