First of all I have to say I know his movies are kind of superficial with almost no depth at all. But I cannot understand why he is burned to the ground all the time. Movies are made to entertain people, and most of his movies do just that. Like Michael Bay(bad example for alot of people, but not for me) he knows how to deliver action. When I first saw Mortal Kombat i was blown away(a little less nowadays), but it is the experience you get from a movie that counts. The first Resident Evil, also a movie I liked. And AVP was kind of a dissappointment but the action in it was very well done.

His movies are stupid and he is a idiot.

You liked the first movie RE, but did you find that a good adaption of the video-game ? Did you find that AVP was as good as the original movies ?

He's not the worst director I've ever seen, but I'm certainly no fan. I didn't think Resident Evil was that bland or bad.

RE1 was ok. Terrible game adaptation but an OK film.

The reason I hate Anderson is because he's so far up his Aussie arse he believes everything he does is gold and if he EVER gets his grubby little paws on an MGS adpatation I will be forced to end his life.

:)

How many directors with the last name Anderson are there anyway? Never heard of this one...

the problem with Paul W. S. Anderson is that he doesn't strive for brilliance. he just aims for mediocrity and even then he falls short. i LOVED Mortal Kombat and back in the 90's i used to love him, but something happened to him that made him start making crap movies. RE doesn't well as a video game adaptation, and to be honest i really don't understand that love for that film. it's not even a well made film. neither is AvP.

it kills me that a beautiful woman like Milla Jovovich married someone who's pretty much a hack now. her career is suffering because of it.

Event Horizon was good but everything slse he made is pretty weak

I cannot understand why he is burned to the ground all the time.
It's because he consistently makes crappy movies.
The best movie he makes is only "okay".

Event Horizon was like a stupid teenager who had aspirations of going to film school someday, got millions of dollars from his rich dad and made a movie.
My friends and I almost left the theater, but it was one of those theaters that serves beer, so we tried to drink the movie into watchability.

Mortal Kombat
was a joke. It's 100% MST3K material.
I have been surprised to see people saying they "loved" it.
I hope they were 9 when they saw it or something.

Resident Evil was a blasphemous pile of poo.
At least we got the awesome laser-slicing scene, but even that was ******ed.
The zombies seemed like actors at an upscale March of Dimes Haunted House.
If you just pointed a video camera at a TV while someone played through Resident Evil 2, it would've been a much better movie.
And that's sad, when the video game developers have more cinematic prowess than the director of the movie.

AvP was the definition of "okay", but for an event like Alien vs. Predator, it couldn't be anything less than "really good" to pass.

He sucks. What's not to get?

because Paul WS Anderson has so much potenital, then he tend to show off his flash than any substance.

When I was a kid, they had one in Idaho that had beer and wine.
Then, of all places, a place called "Brewvies" opened up in Salt Lake City, Utah...which is where we saw, sadly, Event Horizon.

Paul WS Anderson makes mediocre (at best) movies that reek with wasted potential.

I like Mortal Kombat. Aside from that I don't care much about him.

i have a soft spot for MK just because i was a huge MK freak when the movie was done. it was also the first movie that really opened my eyes to martial arts movies.

Mortal Kombat, for what it was, was entertaining.

i'll give it this much...it's still one of the better video game adaptations. it surprises me how Paul W.S. Anderson went from making the first decent game adaptation (MK) to a pretty crappy one (Resident Evil) to an even worse comic book adaptation (AvP).

normally you get BETTER with experience.

IMO,Event Horizon,Mortak Kombat, and Resident Evil are enjoyable movies!
:yay:

The change probably happened when he started to think that his movies were actually good and not just enjoyable.

i think back then, Paul WS was moving up. and then he got to comfortable and stayed put, making movies where they looked good but they're mediocre.

He's better than Uwe Boll, but that's not saying much. He's a step below Len Wiseman, and that's not saying much either. Paul WS is just...here. he's a flashy lump.

My problem with Anderson is, it is always someone elses' fault that his movies fail. If it gets bad reviews from critics, then he doesn't make movies for critics. If his movie gets bad word of mouth then movie goers "just didn't get it." If his movies bomb financially than it is the studio's fault for bad marketing.

It is always someone elses' fault. If a geniunely talented director like Joel Shumacher can own up for Batman and Robin sucking, than this hack should be able to own up for his movies being ****.

i think his turning point was Soldier. he showed promise with Mortal Kombat and Event Horizon, but Soldier was just crap. he never really recovered from that movie.
