whys everyone got beef with new jersey?

Its almost every day i hear somone take a crack at them,weathers it on the radio,cooking shows cartoons,even gospel shows.Ive only been to atlantic city and its good aweful there but whats wrong with new jersey in general? whys it such a source of humor? atf is a major contributor to this I guess but still i have to wonder why everyone is on jerseys back.

99.9% of the state is just fine. Its the part immediately south of New York that literally looks like its should be in a third world country. Lots of broken, run down old factories for miles along the railroad that leads into NYC. There were no people or houses, just miles of buildings that should really be torn down. I saw it two and a half years ago when I visited New York. It was really surprising.

I lived in NJ for 10 years, and I have nothing but good memories of it. It was in Central Jersey though, which is a lot of farmland and suburbs. My middle school was only 3 years old, built on a farm. One of my classmates lived on a farm, and my family went strawberry, peach, and pumpkin picking every year. Since moving to California, I miss snow (and snow days off from school!), seasons, and fireflies. I still can't believe that many CA natives have never seen a real live firefly...it was a staple of East Coast summers!

My favorite thing that makes fun of New Jersey is that one Jack-In-The-Box commerical where Jack sends the guy there to do research and he comes back in a tracksuit, with a mullet and speaking the "Joizee" accent. But I can't say I hate the state. After all, I've never been there. It did give us Little Steven Van Zant, who hosts the greatest rock radio show out there right now. So that's a good thing. But alternately, the state also gave us Bruce Springsteen. Ugh.
