This would also, for me, be DC's fourth hit in a row if Returns turns out well.
Constantine
Batman Begins
V for Vendetta
Superman Returns.
I think SR will be received in a similar manner as BB. It seems that SR will be a smarter, more epic superhero film than we're used to, much like BB was.

Marvel better watch out....DC's trying to take the throne.
They could take it if Returns is as good as the trailers make it seem.

Batman fans and many critics liked BB, but the general public certainly didn't go ape over it. Sure it did well, but it wasn't like Spider-Man or Superman 78'. I think Superman Returns will energize the regular filmgoer and just people in general. I don't know one person who loved BB that wasn't a Batman fan. It just didn't impress the average filmgoer.

19 years in the making will this rebirth of the Superman franchise be as critically well recieved by fans alike as the new Batman film was?

saint sinner x said:Well first of all you guys have to take this into account. After batman returns the batman franchise pretty much stanked so that probably traumitized movie goers. When batman begins came out it was word of mouth that helped it's success. Nolan was very strict about the advertising of batman begins therefor people did not recieve all the action blowing typical superhero action film and that's why batman begins triumph because it was based on substance over style not vice versa. You guys have to take this into account also i see alot of people in here stating that batman begins was not financialy successful when in reality yes it was successful if you do the math of course the budget for batman begins was $150million dollars, Batman begins made about $371,853,783 worldwide. Batman begins was also nominated for an oscar and Batman begins won the saturn award for best actor (christian bale) best fantasy film and best writing (christopher nolan and david goyer). Superman returns has a budget of $250million dollars That's going to be really hard to surpass the budget of the film WB is very arrogant they think just because it's superman people would go and see the film i've read numerous script reviews and trust me when i say some of you will be disappointed so do i think that superman returns will be as good as batman begins? Hell No but do i think superman returns would do better in the box office? There's a possibilty yes because well look at x-men 3 to me x-men 3 is the most CRAPPIEST SUCKIEST superhero movie ever seriously but then again x-men 3 made alot of money in the box office because of it's over the top action and special effects.
