Superman Returns Wil SR be as good as BB?

If Returns in on the same level with Batman Begins, meaning filmmaking and storytelling terms, then I'll be please.

This would also, for me, be DC's fourth hit in a row if Returns turns out well.

Constantine
Batman Begins
V for Vendetta
Superman Returns.

Marvel better watch out....DC's trying to take the throne.

They could take it if Returns is as good as the trailers make it seem.

I think SR will be received in a similar manner as BB. It seems that SR will be a smarter, more epic superhero film than we're used to, much like BB was.

Dear god, they've all been Joker gassed!

See.....you got it wrong.........it sounds like the Joker farted in our faces with that sentence.

We've been hit with Toxic Laughing Gas......if you want, take away the toxic part.

This would also, for me, be DC's fourth hit in a row if Returns turns out well.

Constantine
Batman Begins
V for Vendetta
Superman Returns.

I dunno.....it will be a bit different.

Superman's welcomed return.

Batman was like the ugly step child, and everyone wondered what the **** is he doing back here?

V and Constantine were nowhere near BB tho, as a V fan V sucked.

It's going to be much better, much more exciting. Since I fell asleep during Batman Begins I am probably not the one to ask though.

Batman fans and many critics liked BB, but the general public certainly didn't go ape over it. Sure it did well, but it wasn't like Spider-Man or Superman 78'. I think Superman Returns will energize the regular filmgoer and just people in general. I don't know one person who loved BB that wasn't a Batman fan. It just didn't impress the average filmgoer.

So because BB didn't make 400mill domestic, SR will be "much better?"

wow... nice logic.

What do you think?

19 years in the making will this rebirth of the Superman franchise be as critically well recieved by fans alike as the new Batman film was?

No.

yes,it looks like it may be better, but we'll see.

I doubt the overall quality will be as good as BB, as Singer has yet to make a very good comic movie (yes X1 was ok and X2 sucked) but the visuals might be better for sure. How can you top someone with these powers flying around doing all of the insane things he is capable of doing? In that respect it might be better but otherwise Singer must prove himself to me.

I have to agree with you... as a Batman fan, I liked Batman Begins better than the other previous Batman films, but I've noticed regular movie go-ers got bored with it, damn, they even said "Batman begins...after an hour!" I couldn't help but laugh!!!

SR will be better, I believe, in terms of an average movie-goer's perspective. :supes:

Well first of all you guys have to take this into account. After batman returns the batman franchise pretty much stanked so that probably traumitized movie goers. When batman begins came out it was word of mouth that helped it's success. Nolan was very strict about the advertising of batman begins therefor people did not recieve all the action blowing typical superhero action film and that's why batman begins triumph because it was based on substance over style not vice versa. You guys have to take this into account also i see alot of people in here stating that batman begins was not financialy successful when in reality yes it was successful if you do the math of course the budget for batman begins was $150million dollars, Batman begins made about $371,853,783 worldwide. Batman begins was also nominated for an oscar and Batman begins won the saturn award for best actor (christian bale) best fantasy film and best writing (christopher nolan and david goyer). Superman returns has a budget of $250million dollars That's going to be really hard to surpass the budget of the film WB is very arrogant they think just because it's superman people would go and see the film i've read numerous script reviews and trust me when i say some of you will be disappointed so do i think that superman returns will be as good as batman begins? Hell No but do i think superman returns would do better in the box office? There's a possibilty yes because well look at x-men 3 to me x-men 3 is the most CRAPPIEST SUCKIEST superhero movie ever seriously but then again x-men 3 made alot of money in the box office because of it's over the top action and special effects.

Batman Returns < Batman Forever

X-Men 3 > X-Men 2

Otherwise you are right on brutha man

No I mean X3 was crap.
X2 was the best X-Men film thus far.

From the moment I saw the first teaser trailer to Batman Begins I knew, as a Batman fan, that the movie was going to completely blow me away. I'm not really feeling that with Superman Returns.

i don't think superman returns will be as good as batman begins , because when i saw trailers for batman begins i became very excited and i don't have that with superman

In my opinion, Batman Begins is the best DC comics movie so far. I'm really, really looking forward to Superman Returns. Will it be better? I hope so, because it would have to be pretty good to beat Batman Begins, and I want to see these movies done right.
