During the AoV crossover, the Mad Thinker did things to help the heroes against the AoV group and during Infinite Crisis Joker and the Secret Six worked agaisnt the Secret Society of Super Villains. Will any villains work against the Dark Reign group?

It looks like the Dark Avengers will be fighting Doom so I wouldn't be surprised if Doom will have a bone to pick with Osborn. And by bone to pick I mean kill him.

I didn't get that at all, Mr Green. I thought Osborn's HAMMER Agents were giving Doom a lift back home and La Fey shows up to exact her revenge (for what, I can't remember). If anything, and by anything I mean the solicts for issues 2 and 3, The Dark Avengers, with Osborn leading the charge are helping Doom out by stepping up against La Fey.

Of course, DOOM needs help from no one, but thats Bendis for ya.

An upcoming cover shows Iron Patriot slamming Doom into a wall, so I'm gonna go with Mr. Green's assessment on this one...

Mr Green's assessment involves Doom being written as Doom and not as Osborne's cringing lackey. I'm going to guess that Iron Man is just slapping Doomsie around a bit for lulz, which naturally Dumbles doesn't say anything about because then Big Daddy Norm wouldn't like him anymore and gosh, then what would he do?

The Mad Thinker and Puppet Master also worked to undermine things during the Civil War, and their scheme was not discovered completely. But that was during JMS' run on FF and hasn't been picked up on. Puppet Master later was taken down for running a superheroine bordello in MS. MARVEL.

Frankly, Marvel's attempts to organize their villains still need some work. The Hood has tried, but Bendis botched some of his execution. Underworld was trying to re-assemble the mob as well as some supervillains, and killed Hammerhead to help move up the ranks, but he was a minor mini figure and is going nowhere. Kingpin is coming out of prison in DAREDEVIL, supposedly. So, who knows.

Bendis may still try to have the Hood be that figure, and the rest of Marvel will go along if something becomes permanent.

I have no idea who or how, I but I doubt everyone will be thrilled about Osborn running the show. Villian wise, I mean.

It depends. Not everyone is an ally of Osborn. Villains are always infighting or see petty goals above the greater picture. Kind of like a lot of heroes too, lately. :o

I'm onboard for a Doom confrontation between himself and Osborn.

Of course, with Bendis writing him....I've got a feeling, I'm going to have issue.

right. Or like Corpy said, Dark Avengers #4 cover shows Iron Patriot slamming Doom into a wall. How great would it be to have Doom destroy Osborn and have him acting as Doom's puppet? of course, Bendis would have to write Doom correctly....

same thoughts at the same time. Weird

for some reason the solicit for issue 4 makes me think Norman and Doom are just going to argue when the Cabal meets again. remember sometimes covers don't actually happen in the story

Very true. But I'm sure every member of the Cabal has their own alterior motives. I just don't want Doom to be Osborn's lackey.

I know its silly. No one in that room should be his lacky. everyone in that room could have killed him and none of them like him. that is one of the worst thing about the Cabal its pretty pointless to unite a bunch of people who can't trust one another and promise them whatever they want. I like the idea of it but the only trust is between characters and its a secret so what is Osborn gonna do he's not a telepath he can't read minds. I'm pretty sure the Cabal is going to fall apart pretty quickly. I like how they have all these powerful characters and they turn them into Norman Osborn's lackies its kind of a waste.

To me the Hood and Doom seem the most likely people to stir up trouble. Emma Frost seems more interested in keeping mutants safe then anything more. Namor does what he always does "Damn Surface world leave my Kingdom alone!"

Doom is Doom. He will have his own plans, ideas, and motives and not care if any stand... well dare to stand in his way.

The Hood has a bunch of supervillians who want money. I see Osborn right off the bat working to pull them into the Thunderbolts, and right there the Hood will ahve a problem. I know the Hood was kind of a strange character to move up as he did, but I enjoy him and do not want the guy turning into a minor player. I mean his actions are really different then many other super villian army/team ups. Its not taking down a hero, or anything like that. Its people wanting money and working for it as a group.

As I said many times already, Secret Invasion: Dark Reign pretty much hinted that there will be a Civil War 2 but with Dr. Doom, Namor, and probably Loki against Norman.

That's not a Civil War, that's a Civil Massacre.

Well, Norman would have HAMMER and probably a fair number of superhuman idiots who believe following orders blindly is the right thing to do on his side. I mean, yeah, it'd still be a massacre, but it'd be a slightly slower massacre as Doom, Namor, and Loki tear through wave after wave of lackeys.

Now you got me picturing the obvious route of Marvel's follow up to their next event, Dr. Doom ruling the world and the heroes resisting against him :csad:

That's actually pretty cool now that I think about it :wow:

Done it. Emperor Doom OGN. Read it, love it, offer to have its kittens.

I doubt Iron Patriot is actually fighting doom with the intent to kill him(well in the short term). The cover may not depict what actually happens. Doom may not be in control of his body. May not even be doom.

Or it could just be a setup so it doesn't look like the Dark Avengers are soft on villains like Doom.

Or it could be Doom getting the **** kicked out of him by Norm, to show li'l Doomsie who's boss.

Doomsie will cry and call him a big mean cow.
