We've been talking about this quite a bit in FF and X-Men and other threads, but I'm curious if people think it's really going to happen.

And it doesn't need to be real specific or actually show a character. Any mention of Latveria, Mutants, a Silver cosmic figure, a devourer of worlds etc. would count.

Okay, I screwed up and posted twice, but I took the poll off the other one, so just ignore that one.

I HOPE we'll get something, but I don't think we actually will, so I voted 'No'.

I highly doubt it. It's possible for them to add something with about a month time. If they do it won't be anything major. Maybe a sign/poster/screen in the background. The biggest thing I can imagine is the silhouette of Galactus as the post credits. Since it's an easy and recognizable shape that they don't need much work to pull off. But then they must be prepared to be asked about it for years and who knows how early they would want to tease something like that.

One popped into my head would be a coffee shop and as we pan across the finished cups we see the names Johnny Storm and Scott Summers.

Probably not.

I still flash back to that super fake Spider-Man post-credit stinger in Age of Ultron that everyone kept assuring me was totally gonna happen for real.

It's possible we could see some sort of Easter egg or reference

Nope. Dark Phoenix still needs to come out and the Russo brothers have said the film is locked now.

Only scenario I can see is a Deadpool gag as the end credits scene, but even that is highly unlikely.

I think we'll get something, and I consider a comedic Deadpool post credit scene and a glimpse of the Surfer to be the most likely possibilities. Surprisingly, the DCEU appears to have survived the Zack Snyder error (get it?) and is offering up real competition to the MCU. Feige and company are going to want to get folks excited about the post Endgame world, and teasing the new toys is the best way to accomplish thatl.

This is the best thing for fans imo. DC actually starting to make good DCEU movies will force MCU to step off of cruise control.

But also now MCU is making movies with a full clip available.

How so? The last good DC movie still was TDK

The only one I think would be viable is they announce that the old Avengers tower has been bought up by the FF but sure I read something that the new owner will be released in Spider-Man.

A post credit scene with Deadpool ecstatic that he finally managed to make it to the MCU and getting ready to help out against Thanos only to be told he's not in the movie would be hilarious and so in tone with the character.

That would make me laugh

Wonder Woman was very well received both critically and at the BO, Aquaman brought in over a billion and so far Shazam! looks like a critical darling. That's an enormous leap forward from the dark days of the Snyderverse.

Exactly with DC turning the corner we have both movie universes to look forward to

I think one thing to keep in mind is that they knew there was a good chance the deal wold be closed by April while they were filming.

And they could do many things that wouldn't specifically violate any agreements but would hint at something.

For example mentioning a coup in a small European country (without mentioning Doom or Latveria by name). Mentioning a "bringer of doom" or showing a silver flash without naming Silver Surfer or Galactus. Mentioning "strange genetic abnormalities" without mentioning "mutants". Mentioning a "brilliant physicist developing a revolutionary propulsion system" without naming Reed Richards. etc. etc. etc. could all be included even if the deal had not officially closed by release date.

So it's not really a question of "could they", but rather "will they choose to". I think if Feige wants something in there, it will be in there, but what I don't know is if he wants to even hint at any of those things yet.

And all of them could be name-dropped through the movie if they did some ADR for new dialogue. A Reed Richards namedrop for example. Movies do this up till the last minute

I won't say it is impossible, but I am thinking "No" in the end.

Most likely no. I suspect we might get our first reference to ex-Fox characters in Far From Home if Feige is far along enough in the development stage for how he’ll like to introduce those characters in the MCU.

Think about how Steven Strange(before he became sorcerer) was mentioned in Winter Solider a few years before Doctor Strange was cast. They can pull off a similar thing with Dr. Reed Richards(prior to getting his powers) who already is a prominent world renowned scientist/inventor at this point in the MCU. Reed is said to rival or even exceed Tony Stark’s ingenuity.

Wonder Woman would like a word with you. Though perhaps you didn’t like it or thought it was bad? Shazam seems to be getting a lot of critical praise(even from people who didn’t like Captain Marvel).

I don't know; I'm honestly really not sure. "Any Easter egg"? That basically covers the entire gamut, from a short, throwaway line to something potentially much, much larger like a shot of the X-mansion or Baxter Building on a news report or something or even casting a character, which, in addition to the casting process, would potentially include costume design. I might have gotten off-track with the last one; are cameos considered Easter eggs?

And then you probably need to consider other logistics with shooting. Are the people involved in shooting it busy? Would the assistant director or somebody suffice, or would it have to be the Russos? Do they need special permission to shoot in a location or is a certain location (i.e., snowy Canadian wilderness featuring a certain berserker) not available at the time? Do they have to storyboard anything or any other preliminary stuff? And there's probably so many other things I'm forgetting, too.

To be honest, it could honestly be pretty simple. An improvised line not even in the script like RDJ's "I am Iron-Man." In fact, I seem to remember much of the dialog in the movie was actually improvised. And then consider that these scripts are never necessarily "completed"- big opportunity there.

Some of the stuff they could do- just a still frame of claw marks on a tree or a silver meteor shooting through the sky- I feel is so simple I could do it myself.

I don't have a background in film by any means, so... maybe someone in film or something film-adjacent could contribute. Do we have anyone like that here on the forum?

Well Reed is just as much of a genius level smart guy as Tony and Bruce Banner so if he is name dropped much like how Strange was in Winter Soldier then I'm all for it

They've had two new properties introduced in the last year that have grossed (or are about to gross) over a billion at the box office. I really don't think there's any lack of hype or absolute necessity to do that.

But that's also because while I think something like Deadpool would excite people, I feel some of the posts on this forum really oversell how big a deal the FF joining the MCU would be to most of the audience.

While there is no certainly need for Feige and company to include a fun cameo or teaser for the fans, I would find it odd if they decide not to mention any of the Marvel characters that have banned from the MCU since its inception. Whedon and the cast whipped together the shwarma post credit after opening night so its not like they don't have time to put Ryan Reynolds in the frikkin' suit. Or have someone mouth the word "mutant"

This forum was formed to bring home the FF rights and many of us are survivors of the Fant4stic War of 2015. So while we are certainly biased, one can make the case that a rebranded Fantastic Four film (Marvel's the FF?) given the loving treatment of the MCU and blessed with a generous budget has an excellent change for success in the era of peak superhero. And apart from the core four many of the other characters on the contract, including Victor, Norrin, Galan and Annihilus, are all terrific additions to the MCU.

Easter eggs maybe a blink and you miss it sort of thing like Caps shield in Iron Man 1. or the map in Iron Man 2 that teased Wakanda etc. Post credit scene probably not. However they did do some pick ups back in January. So I would never say never with Marvel.
