Sequels Will Kate Bosworth try to be more like Kidder in the sequel??

I've loved Phyllis Coates, Noel Neill, Margot Kidder, and Teri Hatcher as Lois. I warmed up quickly to Erica Durance (but she still looks too plastic-y for my taste). I couldn't stand Kate Bosworth's Lois. Thought she was more nasty and snippy than moody and snappy. I kind of hope Supes/Clark ditches her for Lana, Cat Grant, or some random cute chick at The Planet in the next movie. SHE DOESN'T DESERVE CLARK!!!

On a more constructive note (possibly): maybe the problem is that this Lois is too trendy and too appearance-oriented/self-conscious. The early ones were stylish but didn't strike me as trendy. TH was probably trendy for the day, but she was also off the wall and got frazzled plenty so it didn't seem like she was constantly trying to be fashionable. ED's Lois is trendy with her clothes but in a casual way. KB's Lois seems like she hangs out at macrobiotic restaurants and organic spas much of the time. Organic yuppie... I do love the styles of the clothes they put on her, but I wish they'd dyed her hair instead of giving her a wig. For "Lois", her fingernails and toenails were way too "done". The high, trendy heels were a bit much, too. Not a bit of her was out of place, unlike Margot's and Teri's and Erica's. Margot's Lois probably would have had a hole in her stocking somewhere... And the food... Well, maybe they had her doing the trendy food ("tofu wrap or veggie wrap?") to explain why she's so skinny. I miss Margot Kidder's hot dogs and burgers!

I assume, since Richard is Perry's nephew, that the money to buy the waterfront house and the cute plane and all that is his. What about the car? Lois should be in something unusual or some old jalopy. I didn't catch the make, but this Lois seemed to have a pretty new, pretty snazzy ride. Perhaps she uses Richard's car?

Some of these complaints could be fixed by better writing & different directing; some need different acting. I don't want a shallow, self-absorbed Lois!

I predict one actor can't become another one.

You will travel far, young Bosworth, but Kidder will never leave you-even in the face of her death. You will make her strength your own. You will see her life through your eyes, as your life will be seen through her. The Bosworth becomes Kidder. And Kidder, Bosworth.

KIDDER to BOSWORTH

Accept it. Join me. You have been known to disagree with Bryan Singer before. Yours could become an important role in the new franchise, second only to my own! I offer you a chance for greatness, Kate Bosworth, take it! Join me!... Both you and then one day your HAIRS!

What's wrong with that?

She needs to start drawing inspiration from somewhere, or we're all in for another sucky Lois Lane.

She does need some inspiration, but I rather it come from the comics, kidder, or the George Reeves series.

I think the best Lois moment was when Perry insisted on that she do Superman and Kent take the blackout, and she says "Great, Thanks Chief." Her tone and her attitude were exactly what Lois should be.

Kates youthful looks are the one main thing against her IMO she looks around 24 (im not sure how old she is) the kids around 8 that would make her sixteen when she was a leading reporter for a nationally renowned newspaper it just seems silly.

What's wrong with the animated take? It takes some of the best things from the sources you mentioned, and put 'em together. Not to mention it's highly praised as a very good take on the character.

Wow...COMPLETELY agreed. I thought I was the only one that caught that line, because it was so short and subtle. You're right, her delivery there was right on, voice had just the right pitch to it. For some reason this wasn't channeled throughout the rest of her performance. That one line is the only time she sounded mature.

Great. First they complain about SR owing too much to Donner's Superman, then they complain that the characters aren't enough like the ones from the earlier Superman movies.

There's no winning over this crowd, is there?

Well, since I never complained about Superman Returns and the Donner reference, that means I am not included in a group that complained about both, doesn't it??

I was never a fan of Kidder's Lois, she felt scatter-brained.

Kate is just too young for the character, simple as that.
