I mean in terms of wondering all the what if's will this be the case for Singer and X3 like how we (Superman fans) felt for Donner's SIII after hearing all the ideas he had for it.

Can you tell me what Donner had planned for his Superman III? Did he talk about the story, and if he did what was it going to be about? Could you tell me please.

Donner's Superman III was suppose to introduce Brainiac and much more action and continue with the series tone of S:TM and S:II. Donner had planned like a Star Wars thing with Superman meaning he planned on doing six movies before being let go.

Why didn't he do any Superman movies after 2? Sorry if i sound ignorant

Really he filmed Superman:The Movie and Superman II back to back but then the producers were being dumb asses and fired him when he was like 95% done with Superman II and then brought another director on because they owed him money and then they went back and changed alot of Superman II and we get the campy Superman III and the rest is history. The series was suppose to have a more series tone like Superman Returns(which Donner helped Singer with).

Yes, I reckon Singers X3 is the conceptual holy grail of todays cinema. But still, maybe one day he will finally get around to writing Ultimate X-men 3 with Steve McNiven and we'll get an idea of what he wanted in the same way we recently found out what Donner wanted for SMII

If you read the Action Comics you'll see what Donner wanted for SIII as well. He pretty much was going the same route as SR.

X3 is like Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome and Batman Forever (and Superman III like you told). Those should have been made by George Miller and Tim Burton like X3 should have been made by Bryan Singer.

Even Return of the Jedi falls into this category. Yes, it's good, but it's not as good as the first two. You may have heard about the complications with the director on the set. And wookiees were changed to ewoks etc. etc.

These kinda things just fcking annoy my little fanboy arse. Goddamn.

i don't think singer and x-men should be compared with donner and superman, donner was fired, singer walked away

not necessarily. Singer got tired of waiting around for Fox to make a deal for X3 and then had talks with WB. When Fox found out, they fired him.
