I don't understand why the X-films are so stingy with the Stan Lee cameos.(He's only done 2.) He's in all the Marvel studio films and all the Spider-Man films for Sony.I can't believe Stan would turn down a cameo request,so why do TPTB not extend an appearance of our Generalissimo more often?

He gave conflicting reasons why he didn't cameo In DOFP so it may be his decsion.

The best X-flicks don't have stan cameos, keep him out :o

I think it's cool that they give Chris Claremont cameos in both X3 and DOFP though. As cool and important as Stan Lee is, Claremont is really the one that brought the X-Men that many know to life. In a FF film, I think a Stan Lee cameo would be pretty important, but for the X-Men? Chris Claremont might be more suitable and a nice alternative.

That being said, I'm not opposed to having him cameo. But I think it's nice that the X-Men films also try and get other important writers in there too! Kinda like how The Winter Soldier had an Ed Brubaker cameo.

The problem with Stan Lee's cameos is half of them have always ruined the flow of the movies he's had them in.

He worked fine in X-Men, Daredevil, Iron Man movies, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, Avengers, and Amazing Spider-Man.

Every other one of them though, horrible and cheesy in a bad way.

Ehhh I'd rather not. They've got to the point now where they're just dead-stops in the film and it pulls you right out as you're like "oh, Stan Lee". Background character yes, but not a look how funny he is moment

That's pretty much how his cameo's were in the X-films.It just seems like they've gone out of their way to neglect him.Every other franchise takes advantage of him and pays homage if you will.X-Men started the cameo thing (along with the whole golden age of comic film).Does he really deserve nothing more than "hot dog vender" when he created the whole shebang?Give him at least one memorable moment in an X-film,before he hangs it up.

I don't really mind if there's a Stan Lee cameo or not. But yeah I find it a little odd that Stan Lee didn't have a cameo in the past few X-Men movies most especially his first cameo in a Marvel film was in Fantastic Four 2005 which was made by Fox.

EDIT: Did he have a cameo in X1/X2?

Stan Lee cameos always take me out of the movie.

That's partly because they are done as fun things where the audience is supposed to giggle and recognise him.

If he's in the movie, he should get a proper role like Claremont and Wein did in DoFP, rather than some random role just done for the lulz.

I thought his cameo in X3 was good. Could anyone tell me about his cameo in X1?

Jeez guys its OK for a comic book movie to have a little fun sometimes. :whatever:
Fun yes, stupid no.

His longest working sequence was in Amazing Spider-Man, while Spidey and Lizard fought around him. Plenty of fun and laughs had there.

Him trying to be all old wise man-like with actual dialogue, hell no.

I love Stan don't get me wrong, but he has had pretty much nothing to do with the X-Men in years, thats why I was happy it was Len and Chris. I hope we get Louise in Apoc

He was the hot dog vendor on the beach when Kelly washed up on shore after escaping from Magneto.

I enjoy the Stan Lee cameos. But he hasn't done one for an X-Men movie in so long that I wouldn't expect to see him to do another. But if he does, I'm OK with that too.

This is the series that started the cameo trend. It was just a blink and you miss it nod to the fans... everyone other series just took it, an ran with it.. and often not in a good way. They're just not needed.

I liked Stan's cameos in both 1 and 3 but like I said it is far better for comic fans to see the ones who created the characters and villains we see in each film.
