Will the Trailer/Teaser sneak up on us

You guys are pretty ridiculous.....you put down that it's a list by Yahoo!....who cares? And what is a "bogus" list? Nowhere does it (or I) claim that they took a sample of people and asked them what they were anticipating. It, like most of these kinds of lists, just goes over what's getting the most buzz right now. Many of these lists are also complete MARKETING ploys....where the studios pay websites to include their film on such lists. Eitherway, I just used it as an example to prove what I've been feeling.

EB, you sure proved me wrong about the women's demographic when you said your wife doesn't like Sex in the City. :whatever: After all, we all know that if EB's wife doesn't like it, it must not be popular.

And BH really "splattered a can of whoop ass" by telling me to shut up. Really mature too.

You guys claim that "some people are just looking for reasons to be unhappy." I'm sorry but that's simply not true. But you can think that if it makes you happy. I personally think that some people refuse to admit that the marketing up to this point has unusually bad for a film of this magnitude. It doesn't mean that it will continue to be so. And it doesn't mean the film will be bad either. It just means that they're slow on promoting the film. You may say you disagree but I don't think that's being completely honest. Or maybe you just enjoy having your heads up your a$$es. Who knows.

They'll definitely have something out there for january...

Just like the last teaser, we probably won't see the hulk at all in it bu it may have some likeness to the ending scenes of the tv series, that'll be enough to gain an interest...

perhaps just seeing the aftermath of a hulk out with the devastation around and norton getting dressed, stealing clothes and hitchhiking with a backpack with the lonely man tune in the background would work really well...

The less seen of the hulk in a teaser the better

just even having norton's eyes go white just before a change would be sweet as well....

That idea is :woot:

Every fan of the old show would be instantly interested, and all of us CB-ish fans will "get" it just as well. Simple, yet effective.

Precisely. You're using a bogus list (vs. a legitimate one that actually reflects viewers' opinions) to "prove"... well... nothing.

And this

Look, you say, "I personally think that some people refuse to admit that the marketing up to this point has unusually bad for a film of this magnitude." Well, why would we do that? Assuming the marketing has been "unusually bad," what do we stand to gain by being pissy about it?

You also say, "It just means that they're slow on promoting the film." Well... uh... what are you going to do about it?

Think about it Junior, you're bent on being unhappy.

Blah blah blah.

Wow! YOU TOTALLY FIGURED ME OUT! I ONLY ENJOY NERDY MOVIES!!!! ......

I realize, there are movies for kids, movies for people who like a strange show in which old women are someone how surpised by the idea of a brazillian wax, movies of all different types for different people.

That said, that doesn't make them good. Theres no way to really predict top movies of a year thats not out, but if we are going to try, at least put up some I don't know.... ones with good previews? (which can actually make me agree with Indy and Hulk not being there)

Heck, I watch kids movies, love cartoons to death, but I gotta say Horton looks like a steaming pile of crap (thats coming from someone who is still going to go see The Chipmunks). I know Sex and the City will make money, but that's a sad commentary on it's audience to me. Thank god my girl has the right mind to hate the show, I'd go flippin' insane.

You guys claim that "some people are just looking for reasons to be unhappy." I'm sorry but that's simply not true. But you can think that if it makes you happy.

Well you do seem rather bitter.

And yes, it brings me more joy than a child raiding a candy shop after a natural dissaster.

If you knew anything about me from previous posts, you'd know I didn't have the intention to say no one wants to see things. I'm the guy who said "No such thing as a bad movie, every film has some fans."

I am just saying I don't see why they are on top 10 lists.

So I don't even know why you plummetted in and attacked someone you've obviously seen rarely posting, and have no idea where they are coming from.

But what the heck, whatever makes you happy.

Oh! Oh! Did anyone see what I did there!? Arn't I clever!? :oldrazz:

You totally stole my sitcom idea.

My lawyers will be contacting you.

NO! :csad: Sex and the City did it first! Sue them! Not me! NOT ME!!!!

...why do lawsuits always go after ME!?:csad:

Edit: Unless you thought I meant old as in Golden Girls in which case I didn't steal it... also if thats the case... make it! And swim in your vast incoming fortune!

Ok, so you just rebutted your own original statement with the list being a "marketing ploy" to hype up those movies. So why use it as debating point? Next, the threads here are for info, networking and fun. So if you take certain things personal....I don't know what to say. Now, in the case of my wife, she....along with her friends are in the thirty-something group and don't really care for the Sex in the City thing to watch in at the movies, but don't make the mistake using my wife to insult me. Its not like I can punch through the screen and knock your teeth down your throat, so I gotta let it go. Like many on here, having keyboard muscles is a growing problem on the boards. Unfortunately we cant meet face to face with the guys who get real creative online. You gotta be a duck and let roll of your back. Next, personally I use the boards to inform, sharing my direct knowledge being involved with the project to let people know the deal with this film. Ask around if you doubt my credibilty. I could care less if you take it with a grain of salt. Being a newbie to the boards you dont seem to comprehend the way we are here, so you get a pass. The info will be released when it is, period. If you can't wait, take up needle point. It should be right up your alley missy.

I'm really digging your posts lately EB. I get all fired up.

First off, I didn't attack anyone in my original post. I simply shared a link that I thought showed how TIH was not considered as a highly anticipated film and then went on to share my personal frustrations about why I think that is. I'm not the first poster to express my dissatisfaction with various things having to do with the film and I won't be the last. But overall, I'm very positive about the film from what we've seen and heard thus far.

Yeah, I'm a newbie to posting on this forum. But I've been reading this forum for well over a year now (as well as some others). And the only thing my low # of posts shows is that I don't have the amount of time on my hands that you guys clearly do. And I don't know who died and made you guys the source on what this forum is all about but maybe you should go look up "forum" in the dictionary. Don't tell me what this forum is and isn't. What I had to say was relevent to the film. You had a right to ridicule my post and I had the right to defend my post.

Also, I must tell you EB that I did not insult your wife at all. I was commenting on how funny it was that you said your wife who was in her 30's didn't like Sex in the City, so that "killed my theory." I know you're credible....you gave me a copy of the script yourself. I never questioned that. But I can have a different opinion than you and not be wrong.

And the reason I mentioned how many of these "Top 10" lists are actually marketing ploys was to state exactly why the list was an example of TIH's poor marketing up to this point. That's why I capatilized 'marketing.' So, sorry....you didn't get me there.

And I agree with you guys about people developing "keyboard muscles" on these forums. But I think in these past few posts, you guys may have shown some of the biggest keyboard muscles we've seen around here.

Didn't say your initial post was bad at all, but your reaction for my personal views on a movie list were more than uncalled for.

Again the attacks... ouch, yes I have SO much free time at 12:42 AM in the morning that I get to sleep in on DANG you caught me!

Wake up and smell da-muscles puny little man!

For I am Hans

und EB can be Frans

and we are here to PUMP!

-CLAP!-

YOU UP!

Dang it feels good to be able to excersise my right to ridicule at will.

Settle down, kids. Let's not say anything that we may regret later on.
Calm yourselves. No attacks on other posters. Be civil.

Thanks.

what the heck happened to my thread??? Subject matter left in the past, and fights have started.

damn I just wanted to talk about the possiblity of them surprising us.

I am not actually fighting with the guy. Was more toying with him, as Nolan's Joker would say....

Why so serious?

Though I will apologize to you, most subject matters get lost in heat of things in many many threads.

True.. My post was really just backing up Mehzeb rather then actualy complaining about you or anyone else

I know how it goes...just kinda interesting how at this point the subject matter of this threads title seems... well out of place with the content over the past page or so.

What surprises me is how people here are SCREAMING for pictures and trailers on a movie that's still a good six months away. Promotion doesn't need to start in earnest until the month before, or six weeks at the most. You don't need to plan months ahead for this; it's a two hour movie folks, not an around the world trip. The general public only needs to be reminded once the Summer movie season is here.

We as fans want so badly to see it RIGHT NOW, but the studios have a plan that will let everyone in on things in plenty of time. Relax. We'll see some good stuff by Spring, I'm fairly certain. Besides, I'd rather not see anything substantial for another couple of months than to see a piece of junk slapped together just to appease a small, yet vocal mob of CB junkies, who would almost assuredly tear it a new one anyhow...

Yep. Well said mate.

Without mentioning any names there are posters here that just moan everyday that they have not seen a new picture or why hasn't there been any news. They even ask people if they could leak them pictures!

They, we, all gotta be patient.

It is kinda hard for us as fans as we have been following this movie for a long time and not getting something for a while makes us worry about the state of the film and makes us impatient however the general audience probably don't really know that there is a new Hulk film in the making so for Marvel this is great, as they get to keep it quiet for ages then when the time arises they will whip out a trailer that puts everyone in amazement and builds up the hype and anticipation.

The reason I think a lot of people want footage and pictures is because both The Dark Knight and Iron Man (and to an extent the Will Smith film 'Hancock, though it isn't a comic movie) have released both trailers and images, and they come out at a later date than TIH.

Well TIH is obviously planning to be a high profile movie so in that sense I am a little surprised that we still have next to nothing. I mean if the movie opens in June then the teaser trailer should be out at least by the end of February IMO. Anyway, I'm pretty convinced that the things will start rolling in a matter of weeks.

There is also the issue that the longer the wait before seeing official pics, the greater our disappointment if you think they did a bad job.

Oh, you went there! Love it! Not that awful Thing Suit/Make-up, but how you show that pic to back up the phrase disappointment.

This movie wont sneak up ****!.... It's just plain BAD marketing from Universal's side! I can't believe that they haven't even released a teaser yet! There's no other movie out there that needs it more then this Hulk movie!

Yeah, I was on the FF boards quite a bit when they were putting together that movie. The anticipation for pics was just as high for that movie as it is for Hulk now. We waited and waited, and that browless freak was what we finally got. :csad:
