Superman Returns Will they make sequel?

How hard was it for them to settle on Singer? It wasn't that easy to find and choose a director and I think the situation is still the same. They have a team that is ready to move this thing forward. I don't think they are ready to scrap Singer because of the box office, though they are probably just now a bit nervous about future investments. I think it's building up. It's not peaking with this movie and if the sequels are done properly the box office/reception/reputation will reflect that and greatly improve. My guess is that Singer and co. will do the three movies.

My personal theory. The next time we see Big Blue on screen will be in the Worlds Finest movie after the Begins sequel.

And Singer and co. won't get near that. Why, you ask? Because Nolan and Goyer are simply better.

I don't think Superman and Batman are established enough in their own movies yet and putting them together sounds like something done when Nolan and Singer leave and they get someone like Paul W. Anderson to direct a vs. film. Even then, I find it hard to believe that Bale would do a movie like that at this point.

:o I don't agree. If Singer had made a poor film then I might agree, but his film was a great film. The sequel will shut up alot of people, and I'll be here to see it. Let's just hope Nolan and Goyer can produce a second film that is as good as BB.

Oh, "the sequel will shut up a lot of people?"

I thought this film was going to shut up a lot people?

Hey, maybe the third film will shut up a lot of people?

The fourth?

Well that is simply your opinion. I think they will make a sequel, and Singer will be at the helm.

If they do any sort of Worlds Finest it will be after a Superman Returns sequel, and for that they should both creative teams work together

:o This is for those who need a constant flow of action to enjoy a film. In all reality, I don't care what anyone else thinks. SR will be established as a classic regardless of fanboy critisisms. And yes the THIRD, FOURTH if they so choose. I'll be there to watch, and if the truth be known so will you.

the sequel, no matter how good it may be, will not satisfy the fanboys waiting for their post crisis wetdream

Yet, another reason that I am glad that fanboys have on control over the film properties.

Hey, I won't even be there to see this one.

exactly. its also why you cant take most of the people complaining about this movie seriously.

There won't be a WF for atleast 6 years. Batman Begins will get ATLEAST 3 sequels.

Superman will get a sequel, too, I think. 2 or 3 years from now he'll return.....again.lol.

the movie was a wasted oppurtunity.
it had a horribly weak plot with the themes not explored and boneheaded flaws. [the whole lex plot and supes saving the world with kryptonite all around him and inbedded in him.]
superman himself rocked. the action was great. the story around it was really poorly written.
"a classic" hardly. if u class average popcorn movies classics.

WB should learn from New Line and make 3 massive movies together, the sequels to BB and SR, then a world's finest together to keep the budget down and make hints to the sequels. That's why POTC2 and POTC3 are going to be massive money makers.

 And you comment on the film having not seen it? GENIUS! We are all wasting our time ,folks.

Then IMO you really have no room to complain and bash since you haven't seen SR..so basicly you are trolling. The majority has spoken and they like the movie...the small bunch of people who keep whining and complainng are really getting quite funny..it is like the more who say they like the movie the more vocal the bashers bash.....sorry bashers...looks like Singer and company are here to stay and I for one am glad.

I am sure he had very little input on SR, but his ideas in the past sucked alot. I say fire him just to be safe!

Imagine that you are seated and about to watch the sequel. The DC logo comes up followed by the legendary logo. Suddenly the film opens with Superman pushing NK above the earth as seen is SR. He uses his last reserves of strength and throws NK into space. Only this time, the camera follows Nk as it tumbles through space accompanied by Ottman's chilling choral themes. It comes to rest growing into a massive replica of Planet Krypton. We glide across its surface in a shot similar to the STM Krypton reveal. We see Superman's crystals of knowledge begin to fuse with surface creating a massive FOS like structure. At the center a crystaline being is being formed (resembles a crystalline Jor-El). Brainiac is born! We pull back across the surface as the familar Williams theme begins to vibrate through the house speakers. The credits begin to fly at the screen. Welcome to the sequel, Ladies and Gentlemen! (What can I say. I was bored in Chemistry lab!) :)

Ok. That sounds frikkin awesome! :supes:

Yeah, there will be a sequel. Superman Returns is performing better than Batman Begins, and the Begins sequel is under way so it follows that a Superman sequel will be produced. also. However, I would expect a somewhat tighter budget.

Yeah, cos their budgets were the same right?

Heh....quite not...but it still doesn't matter....their definitely doing it because I read that Singer's leaving Logan's Run for this so....I'm hoping for Brainiac(crosses fingers)

Since Singer is on his way to Comic Con towards the end of July to discuss Returns and "what is next" it seems like WB is going forward with a sequel and are moving forward with Singer and company.

For all of you guys who say Arner's already said there will be a sequel months ago, they did. Most stuidos releasing big movies say that there is a sequel in the works before it is released. Then when the movie does not do well at the box office, you dont ever hear of a sequel again. Evan after the script writers go hard at work on the script and have a lot of it done. If this bombs, there is a 50/50 chance that there will be a sequel.
