With the creation of the this film, will the look, style and designs transfer over into television. I.e will they possibley make a transformers cartoon series based upon the movie........? and movie story lines?.......

Perhaps the "Lost" Island is really Area 51 ????????

it is possible. It really just depends on two things (in my opinion). 1) How the movie does domestically 2) How well the movie toys sell.

If it's a good movie, and if it appeals to a younger audience, then sure.

Personally, if it reboots G1 and stays true to most of the G1 elements, I would love for it to take over for the crap Transformers shows that they've been showing on television (no offense to those that like them, I just think they can do better).

I think it will, if it does well financially.
And I welcome it to do extremely well and bring back Transformers cartoons as western-written and influenced. I'm sorry, I like good anime (Akira, EVA, Spirited Away, etc...), but the quality of the Japanese-influenced/written shows for the last 5 years has not been very high. They have all had horrible translations, with characters being called the wrong names, special moves called wrong, and the re-dubbing limiting the voice actors' talents immensely.

Both David Kaye & Gary Chalk are great VA's but due to the re-dubbing of the new shows, niether have been able to flourish and show their talents, due to the large limitations put on them through the shoddy translation and re-dubbing.

Also a new show would obviously mean more toys, which is great, since I collect toys I think are cool...many Transformers toys included. Hasbro will always push for a new show about every 1-2 years to support and market their main TF toyline. Hopefully the movie will do well and this will bring Hasbro back around to doing a more American-written and controlled show, instead of relying so heavily on the Japanese for their TF shows.

Well it would be good to see a new version of the "Transformers" As agreed the current Transformers incarnations are no comparision to the old G1 show. Yes Anime is good. But the current Transformers shows are not. They remind of that show, ummmmm, POKEMON.....

Lets hope a Movie based Cartoon series will be launched and start a fresh.... Getting back they old skool flavour....

I'm betting the Transformers: Classics toyline (which is a new toyline coming out this Fall that is basically the original characters as new toys with modern engineering and poseability) will be accompanied by at least a comic, if not a Straight-to-DVD animated movie.

Here is a link to a gallery of the first wave of Transformers: Classics...

**And yes..Rodimus is in fact Hot Rod remade...but Hasbro CANNOT use the name Hot Rod anymore, so it's just Rodimus now on.
