I am just wondering if it will be an established Batman that never quit.

On the other side what if the presence of Superman and potential of new threats from revelation of super powered beings brings him back from the shadows?

I thought that was what they were going for? A semi retired Bruce Wayne who comes back to fight at full force because of Superman? My main question is WHAT in the world would make them fight??

Was there a rumor for 3 years passing? If so, expect a montage of Superman saving people at the beginning

I think of batman as someone who never quits. He has limits like any human, but he refuses to except them and fights until he dies. I would prefer they not have him retire or be semi-retired (no official announcement has ever indicated he would be semi-retired). Although I do respect Nolan for doing something different. What happened at the end of TDKR (batman getting a happy ending) doesn't often happen, so it has its merit in terms of rareness. Since it was seen there not long ago, I don't need a repeat for Affleck's batman.

It was widely reported a couple of weeks ago that DoJ is set around two years since the destruction of Metropolis.

As for Batfleck, it was reported from the outset that it's an older, battle-worn Batman that we see, who has been established in Gotham for years.

If you just google search "older batman" at the same time as searching for Batman v Superman, you'll get the blurb behind what 'kind' of Batman we're getting. If you also search for stories that came out about the statue pictures, you'll find the ones reporting that DoJ comes two years after MoS.

No official sources mentioned Batman being semi-retired, merely world weary and experienced.

Also, i'd love to see Oracle in this DC universe.

How often does it need to be mentioned that no official word at all had been given to back up the fan speculation that this Batman is semi retired? The official word has only been of Batman being a veteran, world weary and experienced. It's only been fans and commentators that push this "semi-retired" idea. Could that be what we get? Sure could, but as of yet there really is no actual indication that's what this Batman is going to be.

Its fans still desperate to reject the ending of TDKR, nothing else.

Why do we need this thread? He is not semi-retired. That has never been said except for by random people. I don't even understand how semi-retired is even a thing.

Oh you know how people just love to jump to conclusions and assume the worst is going to come out of everything they see

Definiton of Weary.. feeling or showing tiredness, especially as a result of excessive exertion or lack of sleep.
"he gave a long, weary sigh"

synonyms: tired, worn out, exhausted, fatigued, sapped, burnt-out, dog-tired, spent, drained, prostrate, enervated; informal all in, done in, beat, ready to drop, bushed, worn to a frazzle, pooped, tuckered out
"he was weary after cycling" NOT RETIRED

The only time I liked Batman's retirement was in DKR when the govt. forced him to quit. That's the only time I could see Batman hanging up his boots. Aside from that he should never quit. If anything it's more in character for him to quit being Bruce Wayne.
