So out of the blue, WMP just decides not to go into "full" fullscreen mode. It enlarges everything to the monitor size and everything just fine, but the control panel just won't disappear. It'd usually hide itself if the mouse was left idle, but for some reason that feature is gone. And I'm left with an annoying playback bar when I'm trying to watch a movie.

Any solutions?

Try making sure that your cursor isn't near the very top or bottom of the screen (the areas that usually fade out when it goes all the way to fullscreen). Move the cursor somewhere in the middle of the screen and leave it idle and that might do it.

Already tested that out. Tried the settings too, but nothin pertained to my problem, far as I can tell. :(

could you take a screenshot for me? I might be able to help.

There's really nothing to screencap. You know the playback bar on the bottom of all videos played in wmp? Where you can play, pause, turn volume, etc? That bar won't go away in fullscreen mode. It used to go away after the mouse was left idle, but now it won't. Nothing wrong with the player itself though. It works fine.

I got it ...

View > Plug-ins > Option > Performance > Advanced > and uncheck Display full screen controls > click OK > then click Apply

;)

Cool, that fixed it. But now I can't access the controls while in fullscreen, lol. Any fix for that?

If not, I'll deal.

Have you thought about just re-installing it?

You think I'm an idiot, don't you. :(

And that's translation for "yes, already did that". ;)

Re-install is everyone's friend.

After all that, I'm tapped for ideas and at this point I'm just hoping my computer doesn't catch what yours has. :(

Eh, I'm positive it's not a virus. I'm a protection ****e. :o

Prolly something within the registry or something. You know how Windows is.

I'm fully switching to Mac next year anyway. :O

Oh ... do the same thing as before except this time check both Enable full-screen mode switch & Display full screen controls > click OK > then click Apply

You'll get what you were originally talking about.

With the control panel dissapearing in full screen mode if the mouse was left alone or whatever ...

Checking it back just leaves me back to the first problem of it not disappearing when idle?

Whatever the case, I guess I'll just have to deal. This problem is getting annoying even when trying to fix it. :o

^ Hey, stick around. I hear you're the resident Maclord, so I may be needing your services in the future. :o

If the bars aren't disappearing, look at the top bar. In the right where the close ("X" button) is, there is a little icon which looks like a pushpin. It should be pressed in. "Un-press" it :)
