Winter Soldier the Comedian?

Just started reading the Death Of Captain America storyline and its aftermath and cant help but notice that Bucky is looking a little like a certain Mr. Blake

Anyone else see the resemblance?

Domino masks? Guns? Similar uniform right down to the star motif on the shoulder? (A bad picture of Bucky in regards to the star, but it now has a similar white and blue colouring).

I don't see it beyond some bare cosmetic similarities. Especially since Bucky has become New Cap and has his own history. The Comedian was a brutal cynic; Bucky was brainwashed for his worst atrocities. Bucky genuinely tries to repent for his sins and live up to his legacy. The Comedian didn't.

Aside for the military origins, domino masks and a love of guns, I don't see many connections.

WATCHMEN may inspire a lot of writers, as it should, but in terms of seeing similarities, I recall a saying: " If you think like a hammer, everything starts to look like nails."

There's always one who doesn't. I can understand considering most opinions regarding WATCHMEN tend to range from lavishing to worship. I like it, though, and am with the pack that sees it as a pivotal comic book story. It isn't just due to the story and characterization itself, but in the cinematic way the panels are paced and flow from one scene to the next. No conversation or image is wasted, which is rare even today. It was trend setting for the mid 80's and I still feel it holds up today. You're free to disagree, of course. A work like WATCHMEN will be overrated.

Frankly, the only work of Alan Moore that I read and felt was overrated was THE KILLING JOKE. The ending just didn't work for me.

Frankly, the only work of Alan Moore that I read and felt was overrated was THE KILLING JOKE. The ending just didn't work for me.

Moore would actually agree. Out of all of his work, it's his least favorite. Although, his reason is different. He feels it just isn't really about anything important. In interviews he's said that it's a very nice character study, but nothing about the characters really reflects anything desperately important about the human condition, just musings on the nature of insanity.

I love Killing joke and especially the ending. it ends with 2 very different lunatics, but still lunatics laughing in the rain about a joke about 2 lunatics. that was great. it was so surreal i will alway love it. plus it humanizes Bats with his laughing. i was so tired of the stone face prep time unbeatable guy. A guy can still be a bad ass and laugh or cry. Did Bats even shed a tear when Jason todd got his ass beat to death?that book is cool! Plus Alan moore hates everything and everybody,but i dont think he hates all that cash that "crap" he produced has brought.Dude in the immortal words of the movie "stripes" needs to lighten up Francis! i would have more respect for moore if he was living in a shack in Wyoming writing his manifesto against society ills like the*Unibomber did. Now that guy had conviction in what he believed in.
