Wishing for a Live Action Batman Beyond

isn't that grand torino film have a batman beyond vibe to it, clint is very bruce wayne-esque in it.

Here's the thing about that costume.

In the cartoon, Terry had a mask that went over his entire face. But not only that, the mask contoured to his face and lips. So Terry could actually speak with the mask on and somehow it opened with his mouth as well.

How would that possibly work for an actual costume? You couldn't really do that.

:huh:Spiderman's movie costume moves with his mouth all the time.

Anyway, would LOVE to see this on screen someday, thought the cartoon was brilliant, and think the perfect time for it to come out would be about 10 years after the Nolan/Bale franchise has finished.

Spidey's mask doesn't have an OPEN mouth, whereas Terry's does, and the opening contours right onto the lips as opposed to just having them stick out exposed like on a ski-mask. To realize that in live-action would require prosthetics akin to 'Demon Batman' in "Begins".

Personally, if WB ever did try to make Beyond in live-action, I think it would be better off if the mask just didn't have a face at all, a la Cassandra/Batgirl. Maybe some eye slots with some kind of protective covering or something so that you really can't see his eyes, but IMO it doesn't need much more than that.

It would not work as a live-action television series. Imagine the budget for that kind of show.

and Clint Eastwood is just not the kind of guy I'd picture as Batman. I mean he's friggin tall as hell.:o

You don't exactly have to set the show in 2039, I mean, for budget purposes the show could take place in the now and follow up on a Batman from the 1980's.

that would make sense, hell get keaton to return as bruce!

Then what is the point? The setting being a futuristic Gotham was a vital part of Batman Beyond.

All it has to be is about a futuristic Batman. It will work with that plot regardless.

A gap less than 20 years doesn't justify the gadgets, cultural disparity, or many of the villains that were such a prominent part of the show.

well, reading these arguements puts me up there with ya man, pass the booz

I don't love the idea, I don't hate it. I'd have to actually see what could be done with it to form an opinion.

thats what im basically saying, it would help alot to see what they can do with it before making the decision

Then we are truly on the same page. And I'll share booze but you gotta brig your own snacks.

i can eat extra large cheeze its in 10 mins, the whole box, i might share

I would Pay good money to see clint eastwood play Bruce Wayne lol

Reminds me of the endless arguments over the Green Goblin mask.
I would think a futuristic Batman mask should have lenses.

Yes, you could I've already figured it out. All they would have to do is use that Doctor Manhattan method by having the actor wear those little dots then presto create his full mask look in a computer.

Its no different than with doctor Manhattan, just substitute the radiation blue for coal black then voila instant BB mask. :brucebat:

Thomas Dekker as Terry(Freidele is just too old. Terry is a teenager, not a 30 something year old man)
Clint Eastwood as Bruce
Sigourney Weaver or Susan Surandon as Commish. Barbara Gordon
Jessica Lucas as Max

Ditto. :hehe:

Jessica Lucas...yum. :woot:

Clint Eastwood = Bruce Wayne

Not sure about who should play Terry McGinnis.

To see a live action Batman Beyond would be phenomenal.

I really hope they make Batman Beyond movie after Batman 3.

Heh. The more WB keeps stalling out on the rest of the DCU, the more I can actually see this (or some variation of it) happening.

I think its a really cool idea but I don't think it will ever happen. though I do think it's more likely BB will get his own movie than be given his own on going comic book for some reason.

I say Kevin Zegers for Terry McGinnis. Who's with me?

Also Julianne Moore would be a good Barbera Gorden.

I totally agree with Clint Eastwood casting.
