Anyone know if Jakie is going pop up in this series. Love to see an anime take on The Darkness.

I heard this series has plenty of fanservice,i'm sure comic readers will enjoy this.

I've seen volume 1. The show is canon with the comics, but they've set it many decades in the future after the time of Sara Pezzini.

The new character, Masane Amaha, is just someone else who's been granted the powers of the Witchblade, much like there's a new Witchblade wielder for every generation.

I think an anime version or animated movie version of Darkness would be awesome though yeah.

I doubt Jackie Estacado will ever pop up in this series. Even though it's possible the Darkness could grant him longer life and slow his aging (it did heal him back from the dead and the brink of hell itself after he was blown to bits), I'm not sure he could go so long without getting laid or passing the Darkness powers to someone else.

true...still it'd be cool if he popped up. The Darkness is about the only reason I keep watching the anime...encase he does show up.

Well the anime is 24 episodes, and it's already aired in Japan. I've yet to hear anything about the Darkness showing up, and I don't think we will.

Just got Vol. 1 & 2, I think its pretty good, this is my first anime DVD i got.

The Witchblade anime will air on the IFC at 11:30 American Eastern Standard Time tonight.

Interesting, seems a few Funimation shows are popping up on IFC.

I just don't get why the hell though that IFC is showing anime shows because they are IFC. I don't consider anime shows indepedent films. Because they aren't.

I have a few ideas.

1. No other channel wants people to think certain things of it.
EX. "WHOA, this chick in witchblade just got raped while injecting smack into her eyelids!"
[Not that that has happened.]

2.Adult Swim are *****, or they're full up.
I would personally like if they took off those "funny shows"
Shows like Venture Bros. Or Tim & Eric.
I would love for them to be a strictly a late night anime channel.

3. No one likes anime. So no one airs it.
There needs to be specific channels with just anime.
Show episodes daily from like 8 different animes.

I don't know how money is made in the TV biz... [ Viewers or somin'.. ratings?]

Lol anyway, i should tottally come up with my own channel. That would be the ****. I would need a bunch of licenses and stuff and yea, or nay from people like Funimation.

Anime ratings are too low for AS to be a strictly anime show. I think the highest rated shows Are Bebop, Inuyasha and probably Eureka.

Never gonna happen dude.
Those "funny shows" turned AS #1 in ratings for viewers age 18-34 for the 3rd year in a row.
The August 28th episode of Family Guy pulled down 1,629,000 viewers.
The Sept 16 telecast of Robot Chicken scored as Adult Swim’s most-watched original telecast in network history among adults 18-34 (1,423,000) and adults 18-24 (866,000).

Robot Chicken gets an average of 600,000 adults (18-34)
Those are the biggest numbers in late night.Bigger than Jimmy Kimmel and bigger than Craig Ferguson.

Venture Bros. is a hilarious show.

Adult Swim became what it is partly because of anime. But I mean, let's be clear, not all of it draws big ratings like the original CHEAP programming does. Their original progamming does a lot better these days.

I don't care for Boondocks, but it's popular. Venture Bros. has built a great storyline and continuity since the pilot.

The thing is though, the anime that IFC shows though isn't indie.

One problem though I think is that Adult Swim ignored a lot of prestigious and strong titles. For one thing they stopped doing the movie thing. Every once in a while they would do movie anime specials. They've stopped doing that. They should've shown the Cowboy Bebop movie, Solid State Society, and the FMA movie. Sci-Fi picked SSS instead, (I think it drew pretty well for what it was). Either way, Ghost In The Shell:SAC was a ratings success for Adult Swim and brought in a lot of female viewers as well. There was no reason for them not to broadcast Solid State Society.

On that note. Witchblade Volume 3 is now out. So far I'm liking the show, though I'm not a big Witchblade show. Good show, not a great show. Nice animation by Studio Gonzo.

When the manga version came out, I didn't think it was possible to have MORE fanservice than the original Witchblade, which sorta turned me off. =/

Well, a lot of cable networks have Anime blacks, like Sci-Fi Channel and Starz. And there's a lot of Anime that isn't as popular as the shows that get played on Adult Swim or 4Kids TV. So Witchblade showing up on IFC isn't that much of a stretch for me.

This show is really kind of iffy with me, some times its great and other times.....I just want to blow my brains out.

Although I do enjoy the art quite a bit.
