With an older Batman in the DCCU, would you support a Batman Beyond film later on?

After Batman v Superman, after Justice League, after The Batman and maybe The Batman 2, Affleck would be well into his 50s and his character would certainly be aged after those battles.

If the DCCU is still going strong by then, would you support them having a successor to Batman, with a film similar to the Batman Beyond series where we have Bruce mentoring a new Batman? I would, and it would be something new to Batman's big screen career. We've never really seen him have a successor except for the comics and on TV.

EDIT: Got another idea. Superman in his final solo film faces off against Doomsday and sacrifices himself to kill the beast. Batman retires, gives the reigns to his sidekick, Tim Drake, (or Terry McGinnis like BB) and as the Justice League fades out, a new group forms to replace them with new Batman and some other new characters (with Ezra as The Flash, they could make him the older leader). This then leads to a Kingdom Come type story where the OGs and Superman makes his triumphant return to stop the new irresponsible superheroes.

Don't see "The Batman 2" happening, but Beyond is probably the right direction to go into once he steps out of the cowl. With or without Affleck.

I dont think a Batman Beyond movie stands a chance in the box-office unless it has a past Batman in the role of older Bruce Wayne. One of the successful ones (Keaton, Bale, Affleck). It's already a massive experiment to take the general movie going audience by the hand and tell them "This is a Batman movie where Bruce Wayne is 70 or 80 years old, there are flying cars and a younger kid who you've never heard of takes the role of Batman. Oh and he doesn't look anything like a traditional Batman". That's weird and risky, then to try to sell them on a brand new Bruce Wayne played by an actor that has NEVER stepped foot into the role of Batman before? It's a disconnect for the audience right away. You dont feel for him, and no i dont think a few flashbacks would help that much in the end.

Clint Eastwood is not a possibility anymore so i dont see another actor with such a legendary name/status that could win people over. Maybe Mel Gibson once he gets a bit older??

That's why i feel like Affleck or Keaton would work the best. Bale belongs in a universe that wouldn't feel right in a Batman Beyond scenario.

I dont see Keaton playing that role ever again, especially since Tim Burton wouldn't suit a Batman Beyond, nor would he be asked. Keaton won't do it without Burton just like Bale wouldn't touch Batman without Nolan.

So this brings me to Affleck. If he says yes down the line, then it's on. But there's no guarantee here, especially after playing the character 4 or 5 times with a busy career on the side? Nuh-uh. Chances are slim, but yes it could happen. Hey, if Denis Villeneuve is asked to direct Batman Beyond after he probably crushes a Bladerunner 2...then im sure Ben would jump on it and go through the endless hours of makeup to make him look 20 years older.

Beyond I always thought would be a tough sell for me. Paul Dini's attachment to script was the only reason I liked the idea initially however if that is what they decide to do I could be on board depending on who is brought in.

The only reason why it worked in the end is because the same voice actor returned and the same writers. The guy who voiced Bruce Wayne/Batman for years came back as the older voice. Everything else surrounding him is one giant experiment.

They can only pull it off with a past Batman in the older role. They can stick Clint Eastwood himself in the role and i dont think it'll work.

Yeah. Affleck as older Batman was what I meant.

I didn't mean a straight-up film adaption of Batman Beyond, but a movie that borrows ideas from it. That means it doesn't have to be a grandpa Bruce but maybe a 50-60 Bruce played by Affleck and Damian Wayne, Tim Drake or Dick Grayson as the new Batman.
