"WITHIN THE SHADOWS"

PART I



We open our story up to rykers island, where we find inmates screaming, going insane, all crazies. There is one, who, in a quiet room is talking to a psychiatrist. We don't see who he is talknig to just yet.

Dr. Tinsent: "Inmate #876. Name: Edward "Charles" Brock. Suffers from cancer and--"

Brock cuts him off. Now, we see Brock's full face.

Brock: "Mental illness? Was that what you are going to say? You Dr.'s have it easy. You just have to ask questions and, half of the time, you assume who's crazy and who's not. Then you go home to your nice, comfortable family. Everything is great in the world."

Eddie has a very serious look on his face, and the doctor looks worried.

Eddie: "You think I'm crazy, don't you? Well, I guess it's necessary."

All is quiet for a moment. The doctor seems to be playing with his pen out of fear. He's nervous.

Dr. Tinsent: "Y-you have a history, Eddie. Tell me about.....what it is that has been bothering you. W-well, I've known you have had a history involving Spider-Man."

Brock stares.

Eddie: "Spider-Man? Ever since that day, I've had a shadow of bad luck on me. It's been, what, 20 years? My hate for him will never die down. It's like a beast of it's own. I can't contain it. I lust for it. I'd even give my life for it. It came for me, not too long ago. I didn't want to it, but it made everything make sense. I was wrong for thinking it was bad. Oh how wrong I was. We made a great.....relationship."

Dr. Tinsent looks very curious.

Dr. Tinsent: "Uhhh, we?"

Eddie brock looks back at the doctor again. Brock seems calm. He's dreaming for power though. You can see it in his eyes.

Eddie: "Oh, yes."

Dr. Tinesnt: "Well, I guess this raps up our session. I'll see you tommorow morning, okay Eddie?

Eddie just sits there and nods slowly.

Eddie has a scruffy look. He's still bald, but he looks like he's been through hell. One security gaurd helps him out of the chair. We see that Eddie has chains on his arms and feet. Moments later, security gaurds take off his chains as he's put in his cell. Slowly, but surely, Brock sits down and stares blankly at a wall. He then goes to sleep.

We now turn our attention to downtown NYC at night. Where we find Peter parker at a hot dog stand. The town is buzzing with people and cars everywhere.

Peter: "Uhhh, 1 hot dog with ketchup, and 1 with mustard. Thanks!"


Hot Dog stadn guy: "NOO PREBLEM!"

PEter: "Umm, excuse me?"

Hot Dog stand guy: "WUT?"

Peter: "..Nevermind."

Peter pays the man, and walks over to MJ, who was waiting at the corner of the street.

Peter walks up behind MJ and startles her.

MJ: "AHHH! Whoa, y-you scared me!"

Peter laughs.

Peter: "Had to! Anywhere, here's your mustard hot dog."

MJ takes it.

MJ: "Thanks tiger! I have to head home, though. I'll talk to you later!"
Peter: "Okay, MJ!"

Minutes later, Peter has finished his hot dog as he walks down the street. He's wrapped in thoughts.

Peter: *Hmmm, it's great having MJ around. She makes everything so fun and enjoyable all around. I jsut wish I could tell her --"

Then, in a nearby alleyway, we find someone getting mugged. Peter's spider sense goes off and he runs into a different alley and comes out as Spidey. He web zips himself over onto the building in the alley. He shoots a web at the crook and pulls him up. He's holding him by the jacket with his hands and reveals slowly, a familiar face.

Spidey: "Okay, creep, you're going to -- ROBBIE?!"

PART 2

Robbie's eyes are wide, he looks stunned.

Spidey: "R-robbie, I....what's going on?"

Spidey seems like he's at a loss words. Robbie starts to tear up a little. He seems desperate for something, but Spider-Man just doesn't know what just yet. Then, at last, Robbie speaks.

Robbie: "I-I had to, Spider-Man. I just...."

Spider: "Robbie, please, tell me more. Why, in gods name, are you doing this?"

Robbie: "My family is broke Peter, we're losing our home. We--"

Spidey hears sirens, and turns his head to the street to see police cars coming from a far distance.

Robbie, still being held on my Spidey's hand, he grabs Spidey's arms, desperately.

Robbie: "You can't let them take me, Spider-Man! You just can't! Y-you owe me!"

Spidey turns his head back to Robbie. Robbie, indeed looks desperate.

Spidey thinks to himself...

Spidey: *He's right. I do owe him one, whether I like it or not.*

Spidey pulls Robbie onto the roof.

Spidey: "Robbie, today is your lucky day. Go to Peter Parker's apartment for now. Parker will tell you where to meet me."

Spidey: *I'll have to. It's the only way.*

It's about 10:00 PM now in NYC. The city is still buzzling with action. However, it's somewhat quiet in part of Ryker's prison. We find a great number of NYC's most violent criminals sleeping in their Jail beds. Even the man named Eddie Brock. Eddie is fast asleep. He looks like nothing in the world will be able to disturb him. Not even....it. Eddie, however, is starting to have bad dreams. In his dreams, we see him and Spider-Man fighting for the first time back in 1988. Venom webbing Spidey up to the big bell of the church. We then see more confrontations between the two. Eddie brock meeting Aunt May, Spidey fighting Venom in a meat factory, Venom and Spider-Man going at it on a remote island. Then, suddenly, Brock wakes up in a deep sweat.

Eddie: "Ahh!....*sigh*"

Brock gets up and leans against his cell wall. A gaurd walks past cells with a flash light and stops at Brock. Brock's standing up.

Officer Torrence: "Hello, Eddie. What are you doing up at this time?"

Brock: "Listen, man, I don't think picking on a man just because he isn't sleepy is the best thing. I just don't think your boss would approve."

Officer Torrence raises his flash light in Brock's face. Brock squints quickly.

Officer Torrence takes his keys out and unlocks the ceel door. He comes in and really is almost nose to nose with Brock. Brock, very still and cautious.

Torrence: "You better watch your mouth. You see this stick (cop club)? I will jam it so far up your ass that you will--"

Suddenly, Brock spits in his face. Then, the officer, furious takes out his club.

Torrence: "You son of a b****!"

He goes to hit brock with the club, but brock ducks and rams the officer into the wall. Other prisoners start watching as Brock starts punching the officer in the stomach hard. Then, Brocks lands a punch right in the jaw of the officer. Then, Brock takes the officer and drags him outside of his cell. Then, now the fight outside the cell, an officer comes raming into brock, punching him in the face. Brock, takes the club from the officers holster and hits the officer across the face with it. Alarms are going off, Prisoners are yelling. Then, from behind, An officer hits Brock over the head with a club, knocking him out instantly.

Now, it's 12:30 AM in NYC. We turn our attention to Peter Parker's apartment where we find Robertson making coffee.

Robbie: *Where in gods name is Parker? He was supposed to already be here when I got here. That was hours ago.*

Then, suddenly, the door opens and we see Peter walk in.

Peter: "Robbie?! What are you doing here so late?"

Robbie looks at Peter surprised but also aggrivated.

Robbie: "I could ask you why you are up so late, but I'm not going to. Anyway, Spider-Man told me to meet you here to discuss a certain...uhhh....situation I'm in."

Peter: *Poor Robbie. I still can't believe his family is in a crisis like this.*

Peter takes off his coat, puts it on a coat hanger, and sits at the kitchen table. Robbie then asks Peter..

Robbie: "Coffee?"

Peter: "Uhh, no thanks. Wait...actually, yes, I would like some.

Robbie nods and smiles.

RObbie: "Well, it's coming right up."

Peter then sighs, looks down, then back at Robbie.

Peter: "Uhh....Robbie...can you tell me what this, so called, situation is all about?"

Robbie gives peter his coffee.

Robbie: "Careful, it's hot."

Robbie then, after taking a sip of the coffee...

Robbie: "I want to put it staright to you, Pete. My family is broke. We are losing our homes. We don't have a whole lot of money."

Peter: *Robbie looks so sad right now, just like he did back in that alleyway.*

Peter: "Why did you come to me, though?"

Robbie: "Spider-Man told me to, Pete. He said you'll tell me where to meet him."

Peter looks confused for a moment, then..

Peter: "Meet?....Oh, wait, yes! He did tell me where. Oh man, I completely
forgot all about you coming here."

Peter: *Whew! I completely forgot about all of this!*

Peter: "He didn't tell me what was going on with you, though. Anyway, meet him at the docks at 3:00 AM."

Robbie sort of gives Peter a weird look.

Robbie: "Why did Spider-Man tell me to ask you where to meet him?"

Peter is starting to get nervous.

Peter: "Well, uhhh......he...um, well, to be honest, I'm not too sure."

Robbie: "Well, it doesn't really matter. Thanks, Peter. I owe you."

Peter gets up and watches Robbie leave. Robbie grabs his hat, his coat, and waves good bye to Peter.

Peter: "Bye, Robbie."

Then, Robbie closes the door, leaving a man named Peter parker standing in the middle of his apartment.

LOL, that was great. I loved that part in it where you slipped in a little "online short-form" with the words: To be honest. Made me laugh my head off when I read it. Anyhow, once again, that was just great fun to read. I loved the Eddie-fight in the cell as well, all cool stuff. But, I found myself asking: "Why the hell did the guard go into Eddie's cell in the first place? I mean, was he looking to drop the soap or something?"

PART 3

It is now 6:45 AM. Robbie decided to head home and get some sleep before meeting Spidey. He left Spidey wondering where he whent, but he whent home to seep. Now, Ryker's Island. We turn our attention to 2 security gaurds opening up a maximum security door, in which they put Brock in to keep him from harming anyone. They stand beside Brock as he walks down the prison hall. Brock looks tired, scruffy. Now, one of the security gaurds opens up the door to see Dr. Tinsent. He's drinking coffee as Brock walks in. They close the door, now it's just Brock and Tinsent.

Dr. Tinsent: "Have a seat, please, Eddie."

Brock takes a seat. Then, Dr. Tinsent presses the button on a tape
recorder.

Dr. Tinsent: "Oh, I forgot to mention, I..uhhh.thought it would be nice to start, err....recording our sessions daily. I--"

Eddie: "Listen, Dr. No need for an explination. Just..uhhh...let's get on with the session, shall we?"

Dr. Tinsent's eyes are wide, then..

Dr. Tinsent: "Oh, right, of course. Well, I'd like to discuss....last night."

Eddie Brock sighs.

Eddie: "He got in my face."

Dr. Tinesnt keeps pressing the top of his pen down and up repeatedly.

Dr. Tinesent: "Really? Well, the officer said that you weren't following commands and then you spit at him when he told you to lay down."

Eddie slams his fast on the table hard as he gets up.

*SLAM!*

Eddie: "HE TOLD ME TO GO TO SLEEP! I SAID NO, THEN, I-I..."

Dr. Tinsent sits up and puts his hand on Eddie's should.

Dr. Tinsent: "Calm down, Eddie. Everything is going to be alright. J-just sit down."

Eddie pushes Tinsent's hand off his shoulder angrily, no.

Eddie: "No! I'm going back to my cell, Dr."

Then, as Brock is escorted to his cell. Dr. Tinsent grabs his folder and walks out.

We now turn to Robbie Robertson's home in queens, where we find him waking up. He stands up, still groggy, and walks into the kitchen. He then realizes that he should go and meet Spidey right away. He writes a note for his wife telling her when he'll be back. Then, after a few minutes of getting dressed, he heads out the door with his jacket and hat. He calls for a cab. Then, minutes later, the cab arrives at a dock.

Cab Driver: "Hey, where's my money?!"

Robbie, quickly, puts his hand in his pocket and brings out a few dollars.

Robbie: "Oh, s-sorry, here you go, sir."

The cab driver takes the money and leaves. Then, the sun is somewhat up, Robbie calls Peter.

We now see Spider-Man web-swinging around town, thankfully, he wasn't sleeping.

*zzzzinnggg!*

Spidey: "Hello?"

Robbie: "Peter? Spider-Man didn't show up last night."

Spidey's still web swinging.

Spidey: "Yes, he...wait, no he didn't. I'll have him come and meet you right now."

Robbie: "Thanks, Peter."

Spidey hangs up and continues web swinging to the dock.

Spidey: *Hmmm, hopefully nobody is there except Robbie. This needs to be private.*

Moments later, we Spidey swing and land right in front of Robbie.

Robbie: "Spider-Man!"

Spidey: "Yep, that's my name. Anyway, let's cut to the chase. What I think should happen is you and your family should move in with Peter's Aunt May."

Robbie's eyes widen.

Robbie: "No! The stress would be too much for her. What we need to do is find a way to clear my name."

Spidey: "Clear your name? .......Robbie......how many times have you done
something like this?"

Robbie sobs and starts to tear up.

Robbie: "3 times."

Spidey stares.

Robbie: "But it wasn't my fault! My family didn't lose our money out of no where! I've...had to pay someone, but I can't say who! He'll kill me."
Spidey: "Robbie, listen, you need to tell me who. I can't help unless--"

Suddenly, a gun shot. Spidey's spider-sense goes off and he uses his reflexes to grab Robbie and jump out of the way. It's a cop, Spidey shoots a web at the cops gun, throwing it into the water. He then jumps into the air with Robbie, and swings away.

Cop: "Get back here, you web-slinging a**hole!"

A half an hour later, on top of the statue of liberty, we find Spidey and Robbie.

Spidey: "Listen, Robbie, I can help. Just tell me who it is."

Robbie sighs a big sigh.

Robbie: "His name is Vladmire Dykstra. He was part of a russian mob that turned thier back on him. They were chasing after him in cars one day. He was on foot. I had to be passing by on a street. I saw him running and I figured he was innocent. So, I got out of my car and ran towards him. He was running by an alley, so I snagged him quickly and directed him to my car on another street. Then, I drove away with him. We lost them, but if I knew this was going to happen, I would have let him been shot down."

Spidey: "So, what happened next?"

Robbie looks up at Spidey, then down again.

Robbie: "An hour after I picked him up. He takes out a gun and points it directly to my head. He told me to drive to an abandoned warehouse or else he'd..blow my brains out. So, anyway, once we were inside the warehouse. There was a table in the middle of the middle of the place along with 2 chairs. The lights were bright, the whole room lit up. He told me to take a seat. He said that I will have to do anything he says."

My only problem with this fan-fic so far is a few spelling errors, it only makes me have to look back and figure out what you're trying to describe in your scene. But, other than that, this has been a fun read so far. I can't wait to read Part 4
