I'm so psyched for this. I love the Wolfman design. I prefer the half man half wolf thing over full on giant wolf design. Can't Wait.

My top 5 favorite Wolfmen/Werewolves:

1) The Wolfman (1941)
2) Curse Of The Werewolf (1961)
3) The Howling
4) An American Werewolf In London
5) Werewolf (tv series)

The Werewolf TV series was a very cool show. I am still waiting for it to come out on DVD.

October 6th *WAS* listed as a release date for the Werewolf DVD series. Same day as Trick 'r Treat, and day before my B-day.

As far as this film goes, I really think the reshoots neutered the film. And the idea of "Cursed Family" Werewolves is kind of a turn off as well, it's been done pretty often already.

edit: In looking up the stuff for CHEZ on amazon, it is noted it is delayed again due to Music Copyright issues. WTF? Those cheesy 80's artists, damn them!!!

You're kidding me??!! Damn, I've been waiting for this for long time!
Great freaking news!

Yeah, over the damn music in it. Probably some old 80's hair metal *****e bags holding everything up. The music on the show is pretty... dated.

If that's true, that's ridiculous. If I remember correctly the music was pretty bad.

Yup, a couple sites mention it. But apparently, it's pretty much set to go.

Well, there's no question I'll be picking this sucker up!

Next year, it's all about werewolves, baby!!

I truly hope this is a great film. There hasn't been a really great Werewolf movie in like forever.

Agreed. I wouldn't be opposed to them chucking the whole soundtrack and just hiring some NEW musicians to re-do it.

I'm usually a stickler for the original product, but in THIS case if someone is haggling with them over royalties then screw it. Especially with the fact that, as you mentioned, the original music was pretty much forgetable as it is.

So what kind of run time are we looking at here? I'm thinking it would fly by. Possibly a brisk two hours. Maybe a little less.

Yeah, I just can't see this being two and a half hours. My first guess would be 115 minutes or so. I wouldn't be surprised.

On the Netflix website they have the new Wolf Man movie listed and it says 100 minutes.
I seriously doubt that's accurate though, they also have the movie as a 2008 release. Some one needs to seriously go an update that!

I hope that it's at least two hours. This is an iconic character, it's a period piece, it has major actors...all the makings of an epic.
If it's short, then I hope there will be an extended cut for DVD.

Hahaha!!! Just caught your edit.

By the way, for anybody just checking in, we were only talking about the music for the Werewolf tv series, not the Wolf Man movie! Ha! I am sure the Wolf Man music will be just fine! Although it would be shockingly hilarious to hear 80's rocker music over the Wolf Man period horror drama.

I'm thinking this may be just under 2 hours. Not many long form Horror films.

I just hope there is enough time to flesh out all the characters correctly. I'm really looking forward to the dynamic between Lawrence and his father. And I hope Weaving gets some meaty screentime. Just enough to feel the tragedy. So I hope the run time can compensate for that.

hopefully it won't be as bad as the last time they remade this movie...Jack Nicholson's Wolf movie was pretty bad... and so was the make up on that. He looked like wolverine's grandfather in that movie.

HAHAHAA!!!! Hilarious.
You know, I still enjoyed that movie though. It had some corny moments and the wolf man look wasn't great, but the story was actually pretty good and the final fight scene was a blast.
James Spader was hilarious in it. When he pulls up to the gates of the mansion and tells the security guard his reason for being there. "Pleasure. Does she look like the **** of the century or what?"
The movie was pretty entertaining.

Wolf was entertaining, but a bit too toned down and old fashioned for most audiences at the time.

That was Rick Bakers work, and the subtle make-up was because of Nicholson's stipulations coming on the project.

Also, it was more of a throwback design to Henry Hulls Werewolf of London than Chaneys Wolf Man.
