Wolverine 2 To Film In 2011

I'm not sure why but I'm feeling really optimistic about Wolverine 2, I'll get my expectations down now though just to cover myself. I'm sure I'll be let down though (crosses fingers)

Well rothman isn't in charge of fox movies anymore, or so I've heard. so while I liked the first one, I think it's also safe to say it'll be better

The only things I would like from this sequels are:
- Less ham fisted cameos just for the sack of it, I don't care for bad acted rappers been thrown in films for extra advertising. Will-Am-I sucked balls his character in the Marvel world is a nobody so what was he doing in Origins other than getting some half assed celeb in to sick on the bloody poster. If Hugh Jackman and Wolverine can't sell a film alone then don't bother making one just to throw in tons of cameos!

- Less of a watered down, child friendly Wolverine, some blood please, he can't stab someone and have clean claws come on! Not asking for Punisher War Zone over the top stuff here just something a little more real.

- Give him some sort of suit, tired of a white vest and jeans. If he is having Ninja training give him a bloody mask, even if he gets rid of it later! Spider-man wears his mask. RDJ in Iron-Man is in his suit and helmet alot that doesn't take away the star does it!

- Better CGI ... IF you are going to make CG claws at least render them out well, for the millions the film will cost it takes no time at all to render out nicer looking claws.

I'm down with this. Has a good writer and a more focused plot, hopefully. Just no more cameos. Just was too much.

I agree 2039809238% Unionjack.

- The cameos didn't make sense at all. Gambit was out of character, Deadpool wasn't deadpool, the Blob was the overdone fat and dumb guy cliche and and i don't even know what agent zero was supposed to be. They didn't even bother explaining their powers/skills and motivation. So yeah, no more half assed cameos please.

- I thought it was funny how in the midst of finding out he was betrayed by everyone and their mom, Wolverine decided it was getting a bit hot in here and took off his shirt.

- And i have been saying this since X-men 3: for the love of god, Wolverine should be violent, surly and a no nonsense kind of guy. He was way too nice during the entire movie. After Striker told him it was all a set up i expected him to explode with rage and kill everybody in sight. Instead he decided to go for a walk and sort out his feelings. COME ON, THAT'S NOT WOLVERINE!!!

well Wolverine 2 has a better writer then XOW so i know it will be better then the first

Let's see how many random cameos Fox want in this one, wonder what young X-Kid will show up somewhere for no reason!

^I wouldnt mind one or two cameo's, Lady Deathstrike being one of them, but keep it to a minimum this time, it really was distracting, keep it about Wolverine, you know fox, the title character?

I think cameos will be at a bare minimum because it would be pretty hard to squeeze any into a Japan story.

Let me think...

Deathstrike
Psylocke

That's all I got.

Omega Red
Alpha Flight
Hell Fire Club
Gideon

That's assuming Fox sticks to any semblance of comic canon, which the studio doesn't. They transformed Emma Frost into Kayla Silverfox's sister and placed her in a Wolverine origin story. I don't think a Japan storyline is going to hinder the studio's willingness to bend the rules, if it means including cameos that will lure fans to theaters.

I imagine they'd find a way to have Professor X there on holiday or Magneto attending a Holocaust museum that's in Japan of all places.

Good point!

I also want to buck the trend and actually say THANK YOU to Fox.

.....GASP........

I know it's not a popular stance in the fanboy community but unlike many other fanboys, I liked Wolverine a lot as a film and can't wait for Wolverine 2. Marvel has enough on their plate with the Avengers properties. So, as through the lean years, it's good to see Wolverine and some X-Men characters hitting the silver screen. Fans can argue all day long about whether it's the "right" way to depict certain characters but I like what they've done with Wolverine so far. Silly me, I have little trouble differentiating between the books and the film universe.

Still, I hope they keep the cameos to a minimum this time around mostly to stop all the fanboy b*tching about screen time or comparisons to the books. Hell, I even fall in to that rut once in a while. To this day I wanted to see more of the "real" Colossus and Angel in X3. These pop ins are more tease than treat so simply stop it altogether.

The one thing I want more than anything is a more violent and true Wolverine, not this neutered hairy man we got in the last film.

That and a suit .. with mask.

Eh, I like Logan best out of costume. And I wouldn't mind seeing Gambit again if they can manage to fit him in, maybe following the ole Wovster around or whatnot. :D

What you like a wife beater and jeans ..... come on!!

I would like to see an attempt at his suit, even if its for one scene before he goes back to the beater.

I completely agree. I would also like to see Victor Creed come back as well.

They could possibly squeeze in Yukio, Amiko--even though these guys aren't X-Men, per se. Also Sunfire.

I hope they keep it to a minimum, though. Keep to the basics and it'll come out the best. Otherwise it just feels stretched.

Can I say that I really would like it if Mariko *didn't* die in this story, but they tied that in to another sequel somehow? Seriously, just like the series: Wolverine falls in love, Mariko gets engaged/married, he comes and fights for her, loses, has his run-in with Yukio and the Hand, comes back and kills Mariko's dad, and she gives him the sword and they go off on their separate quests for honor.

It's been a long time since I've read it, but again: I think simpler is better. You can kill of Mariko later. While it's canon, and the whole Mariko's death is one of my favorite tragedies of Logan's life . . . . I think I've seen enough of his girlfriends/wannabe-girlfriends die in the last four X-Movies.

of all the complaints I've heard about comic book movies, not having the X-Men costumes ranks high as a stupid and uneeded complaint

Yeah, I always preferred Wolverine out of costume in the books, he has his own distinctive look that way, with the hairdo and sideburns. It was his mask's similarity to Batman's that caught my eye when I read my first 'new' X-Men story in the back pages of Rampage, I was like, 'who is that guy standing on the stairs that looks like Batman?'
If they did the costume for film, it would end up looking too much like Batman, or would look like Nic Cage's mask for the Kick Ass film, the fins on that mask go like Wolverine's mask, and are cut off so's not to look *too* Batman like.

I would love to see him pair up with Gambit again, the little we got was great, I love the bit in the plane. but not in the next Japan movie, I would like to see the 3rd Wolverine movie set in Madripoor, and it would be cool to see Logan bump into Gambit again in one of the bars or gambling dens playing cards.

I have high hopes for the next movie too, as said, it being taken from a set text, Chris McQuarrie writing, and hopefully the movie will exceed the 1 and a half hour mark now Rothman is not calling the shots.

I lost my copy of the Claremont/Miller collection ages ago, I'll have to buy it again. I did a song with my mate on a home recording studio, and my mate read out the opening pages to that story over the music and it fit perfectly, forgot about that, pretty funny.

Just hope it gets the right director, maybe they should even give it to McQuarrie to direct, his movie 'The Way of the Gun' was pretty good as far as I recall.

No.

The suit would look ridiculous on film.

Maybe changed a lil bit, altered with. It wouldnt look so bad. The spiderman costume worked. Maybe the brown outfit would look better on film.
